In 2007, LadySonya, a Georgia Peach native from Columbus, Georgia, and transfer student from Troy University to Georgia State University, began her life shift of miserably working 2-3 part-time jobs to prosper through college. In less than one year of living in Atlanta, LadySonya quit her part-time job as stock for Ross Department Store and decided to follow her dreams of being in the music industry. With no money saved, nothing but a Radio-Shack 76-key keyboard, and one year of college experience, she decided to start her own business of teaching piano lessons. She found a contracted job to teach at Tarang School of Music & Arts, Suwanee, Georgia, and began to make her infamous mark. LadySonya also found various online sites to assist with marketing her newly established company. Many supporters on social media such as face book & twitter began to take notice of LadySonya's swift entrepreneurial progression and in May of 2009 LadySonya held her 1st annual Spring Recital for LadySonya Music Studio Company. The event inspired 75+ guests. Once the company began to bloom more she began to hold recitals twice a year, one in May and the other in December, filling the venue with up to 150+ guest per show. I am a very relaxed, fun, and motivated teacher. I teach everything from classical to gospel to country to pop music. One thing you will find out from my lessons are you are "learning" rather than "memorizing". Lessons are structured to the students needs. I put my all into the lesson to the last minute or maybe run a minute over but at the end I know I've done my job!
I like to make it fun, so I encourage students to bring in music they would like to learn even if I have to simplify it a bit!
I also try to teach different tricks to learn the theory.
LadySonya is amazing!! I havent played the piano in probably over 10 years, and only played the piano by memorizing music, not truly learning. However, after just my first lesson with LadySonya, I was learning music theory and actually practiced a few songs playing by ear! I've learned more in this one session than I've learned after years of taking lessons. I cant wait to see how far I can go with this!

Lauren taught my son saxophone for 5 years, beginning with his very first lesson at age 9, and continuing throughout middle school. She was always very patient, reassuring, and encouraging. Lauren really helped to develop my son's love for music and playing the sax! She prepared him for middle school jazz band auditions, and helped with his jazz band music throughout those years. Lauren challenged him with new selections when his school band music became too easy, but always allowed him to work at a pace he found comfortable. Now in HS, he's very busy with all things band, so lesson time is limited for him, but we wouldn't hesitate to call Lauren again.

Hello there! My name is Fernando, and I bring lots of profession playing and teaching experience to the table. I am an active musician in several local bands of various styles and genres, including jazz bands, Latin jazz bands, sax quartets, church groups, and musicals. I have played across southern California, several other states including Nevada (Reno Jazz Festival), Portugal, and Mexico.
I have a Master of Music in Conducting from Messiah College, and a Bachelor of Arts degree in Music Education, from CSUF. I also hold a valid California Teaching Credential, which I completed through CSUF. I also hold an Associate of Arts degree in Music from Fullerton College.
I am currently the director of bands at Savanna High School in Anaheim, CA. I teach 3 concert band groups, Jazz band, and marching band. Previously, I was the I
nstrumental and Choral Music Teacher at Buena Park Jr. High School, in the city of Buena Park, where I taught band, orchestra, percussion, and choir.
I have also taught woodwinds for various high schools across southern California, as well as a marching/visual coach for marching bands.
I front and lead my own Christian Contemporary Band. We've recorded two albums, of which I have composed the original music/lyrics, and produced both albums. We are currently working on our third album.
I can teach everything from jazz, to classical, rock, blues, Latin genres (salsa, merengue, bolero, mambo, etc.), and even contemporary Christian music in both English and Spanish.

*** Lesson Details *** I base my lessons around the student's needs for musical growth, and their own likes and dislikes. If there is something specific that the student wants to learn, as far as a style/genre or piece of music, I foster that and I help encourage musical growth and enjoyment around that. I am constantly encouraging my students to listen to as much music as possible, or better yet, to watch and listen to as much live music as possible. I strongly believe that this nurtures musical growth and serves as a role model. I am very patient and laid back, but I do expect the student to have fun while staying constant with individual practice. There is no substitution for perseverance, consistency, and hard work, but it doesn't mean that we will not have fun while we make music!
*** Studio Equipment *** An upright Yamaha acoustic piano is available, along with a Korg and Kurzweil digital keyboards, music stands, computer music software for studying repertoire (music), a large collection/library of books containing scales, exercises, music, etc. I also can make copies or print something for you if necessary. A sound system is available for listening to something is necessary. Flute, saxophone, and clarinet students must provide their own instrument, but I can point you in the right direction in terms of acquiring an instrument either for purchase or rental from a local music retail store.
*** Travel Equipment *** Students must provide their own instrument, except piano if student comes to my home for lessons. Student must also provide books (as assigned), and metronome for practicing at home. I can carry with me things such as: saxophone, clarinet, flute, a portable music stand, metronome/tunes, pencil, paper, and any other book(s) or materials as needed.
*** Specialties *** I can teach classical, jazz/contemporary, funk, latin, blues, contemporary Christian, improvisation and music theory at very advanced levels.
I perform and teach guitar professionally. Music is my passion and I love to learn new music and help others learn it as well. My name is Brandi and I am ready to become your music teacher! Playing the guitar has been my passion for 13 years and counting. As a part of the talented music program throughout my high school years, I decided that I wanted to pursue music as a profession. I attended Southeastern Louisiana University for music performance and focused on the classical guitar as my primary instrument. I have played many gigs ranging from open mic nights, accompanying a choir, classical guitar ensembles consisting of up to 12 people, and my solo recitals. I also play the electric guitar, ukulele and the piano, with recently expanding interests for electronic music and synthesis.

Great feedback from the concert! Now Brandi's been working with me on basic classical - reading two or three lines at a time and going up and down the neck of the guitar with just the sheet music! No Tab Charts!! For me this has always been extremely hard, and probably the hardest musical skill for me overall is reading multiple lines simultaneously. Not great yet but - in quite a short time - have come Much farther than I was and am finally figuring out how to do it. Brandi has been super encouraging and patient and explains every step along the way when I get stuck - even multiple times if needed :)! Playing my normal rock or jazzy stuff with a lot more ease and "know-how" than before. She makes being pushed to your limits not only productive but also enjoyable.

I have a concert gig coming up in the span of a week playing guitar with a big band orchestra doing jazz or band arrangements of various popular songs including a big band arrangement of Play That Funky Music from the 70's. In other words not the easiest stuff to be playing :)! First lesson with Brandi and she cleared up all the trouble spots, tricky rythms and chord changes easily in an hour. She explains musical complexities clearly, knows what she's doing and at the same time makes it easy to understand and execute. I had read about her background in classical and knew she had to be good but was genuinely impressed with how well she understood jazz and funk styles better than I do. ( And I'm 28, have been playing since age 12 and performing publicly in multiple settings since 13) Great personality, a lot of fun to work with, and incredibly knowledgeable! Absolutely recommend!

New York-born Flutist Amanda is a versatile performer active as a soloist, orchestral and chamber musician. Amanda was most recently named the first place winner of the National Society of Arts and Letters Woodwind Competition in Washington, DC. She has also received first place awards in the Best Mozart Performance category of the global Great Composer Competition Series, the 2014 Central Ohio Flute Association Young Artist Competition, the 2013 Rochester Flute Association Emerging Artist Competition, the 2012 Donald E. Webster Scholarship Competition, and the 2012 Stefan Scholarship Competition. In 2015, she was invited to participate in the Third International Maxence Larrieu Flute Competition, taking place in Nice, France, and was one of only three flutists invited from the United States. Amanda is currently a substitute flutist wit
h the Canton and Firelands Symphonies, and appeared as a guest principal with the Canton Symphony for their March 2018 Masterworks Concert. During her studies at the Oberlin Conservatory of Music, she was principal of the Oberlin Orchestra, and performed in the orchestra at Chicago Symphony Center as a part of their 150th-Anniversary tour. At Oberlin, Amanda appeared frequently as an ensemble-member for faculty concerto recordings. She has appeared in the Schikele Bassoon Concerto and the Augusta Reed Thomas Bassoon Concerto released on the Oberlin and Naxos labels on the album Full Moon in the City. She has also appeared in recordings of the Carter Flute Concerto and the Trigos Guitar Concerto No. 1 (forthcoming releases). In addition to her orchestral opportunities at Oberlin, Amanda has attended the Pierre Monteux School and Festival, the Miami Summer Music Festival, and the Bach Institute at Emmanuel Music. To supplement her love for performing, Amanda has also been active in the field of Arts Administration. Co-founder of the Oberlin Flute Association, Amanda spent two years bringing prominent flute artists to Oberlin. This included advertising in the Cleveland area, managing a strict budget, and organizing all details of the artists’ visits. She encourages, she finds analogies to explain, she is more patient with me then I am with myself. She also explains the terms, gives tips on how to read the notes. She is able to identify the mistakes and give the right advice on how to improve. Her advice on how to practice made all the difference for me. I started with a giant cookie bite sized embouchure and within a few lessons I have managed to make it smaller thanks to her instructions. There is hope for me afterall.

Amanda is an outstanding teacher. She inspires and challenges me to play pieces I did not think I could play. She is able to take difficult passages and break them down step my step so I can learn how to play them properly. I am sure I would not be playing as I am now, if it weren’t for Amanda’s skilled teaching. She is also friendly, makes the lessons interesting and fun and is very professional. I have taken lessons both in person and on Skype and she excels in both modes.
