About Nikolas

With 10 years of live band experience, 8 years of music composition, and 7 years of teaching guitar, I offer vast expertise and a large musical background for very affordable rates! My lessons are described by former/current students as being laid-back, detail-oriented, and very encouraging. My students range in age from 8 years old to adults in their 30's. You can always learn something new!

Most of my musical experience has entailed Rock, Indie-Rock, Blues, Acoustic, Bossa Nova, and Experimental/Contemporary. If students are looking to expand into a genre which I am not necessarily familiar with, I am always able to examine and learn the material myself in order to pass along to the student.

My students always decide the curriculum and pace which they would like their lessons to held at. I make sure to break the lesson down into simp

le, fundamental bullet points so that students do not find themselves lost or confused. Overall, my combination of friendly attitude and communication skills means that all my students get a lesson they enjoy, remember, and improve with.

Bgcheck Background Checked

About Ferenc

Music has been my greatest passion all my life. Originally from the former Yugoslavia (of Hungarian descent), I earned all my degrees in violin performance: a 5-yr Diploma from the Franz Liszt Academy (Conservatory) of Music in Budapest, Hungary, a Master's Degree from SIU-Carbondale, and a Doctor of Musical Arts degree from the University of Wisconsin-Madison). I've been teaching for 22 years, including 18 years as a full-time university professor (formerly Associate Professor of Violin/Viola at the University of Idaho, and Artist-in-Residence at the Universidad Juan N. Corpas in Bogotá, Colombia). Currently I teach at several institutions in Las Vegas and Henderson, NV.

Besides teaching, I've been active as a soloist and chamber musician (mainly piano trio and string quartet) as well as in orchestral playing (with more than a d

ozen professional orchestras, including the Las Vegas Philharmonic, Spokane Symphony, Wichita Grand Opera, and Wisconsin Chamber Orchestra).

My daughter loves Mr Ferenc, he is so kind, patient and thorough, and works with our limited schedule. As a former violin player myself, (albeit 22 years ago) I really appreciate how exacting his standards are for form and posture and I wish my early instructors had been of his caliber.
July 31, 2019
Ferenc is an incredibly talented violinist and mentor, who used to be a violin professor before coming to Vegas. Besides being knowledgeable, he is also very patient with kids (being a parent himself). He might travel to the student's location, but I don't know for sure.

This teacher has tons of experience teaching youth, and we recommend him highly. My kids just love their lessons, even during the summer months. It is difficult to find a truly caring mentor who doesn't cancel lessons due to other commitments, but this teacher really cares about getting things "done" in his music studio. Very friendly and encouraging.

About Mercedes

I am a current Music Education major at the University of Illinois Urbana-Champaign, pursuing a minor in Psychology. Before that, I attended West Aurora High School in Aurora, IL as the principal trumpet player in the concert and jazz setting, and was a trumpet section leader and drum major of the 300+ member marching band.
I earned the John Phillip Sousa Band Award and the Semper Fidelis Marine Corps Musical Excellence Award for leadership, musical talent, and dedication in music. I was privately taught for many years under Dr. Rod C. Schueller, a leader in trumpet and music education who formerly taught at Michigan State, Texas State, and Northern Illinois University. I currently study under prestigious trumpet professors Ronald Romm and Charles Daval. I graduated in the top 1% of my high school class. As well, I attended and worked at

the prestigious Smith Walbridge Drum Major Camp, where I earned my 1st class rank nationally as a leader in teaching music and marching band methods.

I have been tutoring trumpet for 5 years, and have been playing for 10. I have taught between the ages of 9 and 17, and have experience teaching beginning trumpet up to classical and jazz music at the high school, college, and professional level. Teaching is one of the greatest experiences I have ever had, and doing what I love for the rest of my life is a blessing in itself!

With my students, I work on creating a positive and comfortable playing environment so that the student feels safe making mistakes and asking questions. The only way to grow as a player is find the confidence to fail. As brass players, we need diligence, patience, and strong work ethic to improve, and a safe place to gain these skills is essential to every student. I want to get to know exactly how the student plays and what their goals are so I can work with them on achieving and exceeding them; success at ANY level is the key to staying motivated and excited to play! Learning how to play an instrument or get better at it goes far beyond simple instruction- it comes from a connection to making music and a joyful willingness to mess up sometimes! That's how we grow.

About Alessandra

Alessandra first started studying music at five years old, when she started taking piano lessons for the first time. Many years and many instruments later, she has traveled the world playing not just the piano, but the flute as well as the fife, which is a historic wooden instrument similar to the piccolo. Alessandra runs a website dedicated to her musical adventures, and hopes to help others see the world through music.

Alessandra recently graduated from the University of Montana School of Music with her BA in Musical Studies, focusing on piano. This degree allowed her the time to take on many performance opportunities both in and outside of school, including playing in the pit orchestras of various theaters throughout Montana and accompanying various musical theater projects. She also performed in every top level ensemble at UM, an

d performed in woodwind quintets and solo recitals. She is well versed in many different styles and is eager to learn and adapt to new genres. In fact, this past year she went on her second trip to Switzerland to study the Swiss piccolo in the traditional style. Currently, she lives back in her home state of California (while continuing her travels) and performs with the Los Angeles Fifes & Drums at various venues throughout the Southern half of the state.

What you can expect from lessons with Alessandra will be geared towards your personal goals. Whether you want to go the classical route, or have the tools to compose your own music, or develop your ears and music theory understanding, or simply be able to play pop songs at family gatherings and maybe a karaoke party or two, Alessandra will make sure you are equipped with what you need.

See you in the practice room!

"Amazing excellent piano teacher. I'm so happy and blessed to have her as my teacher. Goal to Improve my skills and sight reading under her guidance i lear
n a lot for my first time meeting her. She is better than my previous piano teacher when come to goals. With her leading me in the right direction i will be able to enter piano competitions and wining some trophies for the piano."
"Terry made the vocal lesson feel super comfortable from the minute it started. He talked me through each step and explained how to “sing smarter”. At the
end of the session I felt inspired and better prepared!"
"Thoughtful and caring and, knowledgeable!"
"Marjorie is a brilliant teacher who will put you at ease within the first five minutes of being in her studio. She will give you the technical tools to cr
eate the best sound and then help you develop your own artistry. I highly recommend her to any voice student of any level!"
"Sue's teaching methods are multiple - level. She is inspiring and playful. She is my third music instrument teacher (after 8 years of piano & another 8 ye
ars of violin lesson), I learned something brand new about flute and music principles.

Her rate is extremely reasonable especially considering how professional and diligent a teacher she is.

I am very grateful to be guided to her when I was looking for a flute teacher."
Danielle Hyatt
"We worked on technical exercises that focused on the intonation areas I wanted to improve. I have a lot to practice."
"I was worried about finding the right vocal teacher. I was worried it would cost too much and I wouldn’t see any results. I was hesitant because singing c
an be a very personal thing and it requires you to trust the teacher. I didn’t know Val. All I saw were these positive reviews so I took a chance. I’m glad I did. From the moment you walk in the door he has a smile on his face and is welcoming. He’s down to earth and really allows you to feel relaxed and to be yourself. He’ll carefully push you to reach your goals and further. After each lesson, I go home motivated and accomplished. He’s compassionate, patient, and is just a really interesting person. I enjoy picking his brain on techniques, the music business, and his views on different songs and artists. Also, overhearing the wide variety of genres other students are singing, while I wait for my lesson, and how he positively interacts with them, just reinforces my understanding of how Val is a great instructor. My bandmate's can hear the improvement in my voice and I can hear it in our studio recordings. I look forward to my future in music and feel lucky to have Val as my teacher."
"Phil has the techniques and know-how to get the best out of you vocally. He'll also work with you on music theory if asked, which helped me greatly with i
mproving my ear. Outstanding and highly recommended teacher!!"
