Private one-on-one saxophone instruction has been my primary vocation for nearly 30 years. I've also worked as a professional performing musician for over 35 years. Each lesson is tailored to the tastes and needs of the student, with traditional method books rarely used once the basics are under control. Instruction is based on a strong working knowledge of scales. The informed use of these scales leads to a heightened understanding of improvisation, ear training, and other practical aspects of music theory. Students are encouraged to choose from a variety of jazz standards and transcriptions, classical themes, and pop tunes that I’ve transcribed and engraved. Rudimentary instruction is also available for saxophonists wishing to learn flute and/or clarinet.

For those who have never read music before! This is an introduction to the fundamentals of music theory: how to read, write, play, and understand rhythms, basic notation, basic harmony, and ear training. We will work on clapping exercises, learning easy piano melodies, and singing.

For kids that are taking music classes, I can also help with their homework assignments.

Good singing is a combination of good singing technique and performing. When you learn how to sing expressively, letting your heart touch the heart of the listeners, a connection is made that makes the performance memorable. I work with young people and adults of all ages teaching classic technique combined with performance skills. Lessons start with exercises to improve breath control to support your voice and help you sing on key. Vocal exercises will help you increase the timbre and quality of your voice and increase your range making it easier to hit those high notes. You will also learn how to use phrasing as you sing to put feeling into the words and connect with the audience. As your voice develops you will build a repertoire of music in any style that you like to sing from Baroque, to Folk, Pop Music or Broadway as you learn how to use your voice to make a beautiful sound that you will love.

Singing lessons with me is unique because I feel like I have been through it all, in the sense of going through many vocal teachers and experimenting with different techniques. After finding my teacher Michael Mayer, I have finally been able to feel free and comfortable in my singing and want to share this knowledge with everyone!
I am highly intuitive and am able to get in tune with the singer and recognize what is needed because I have such a strong vocal technique background as I've spent most of life searching for true vocal technique and so glad to have finally found it! And I must say I'm very passionate about the art of bel canto and therefore feel like I'm lucky to hold the knowledge of some great secrets especially living in Italy for over 16 years where I've been able to become fluent in the language and learn the spirit of bel canto!
