Barbara is a great instructor. She's very knowledgeable and patient. She always encourages me even when other people are critical. Her kindness and encouragement have helped me become more confident. My singing has improved significantly, and I've only had five lessons so far. I highly recommend her.

I had a great time learning with Barbara these last few months before my Grease Auditions. She helped me develop more confidence in my singing abilities. She accompanies me by playing the piano wonderfully as she helps me through each note and song. I am thankful for my time with Barbara and her caring personality.

Barbara Carlisle has helped my daughter with Down Syndrome start getting back her pitch that she had lost by utilizing many types of teaching material

Barbara Carlisle didn't give up when she heard my daughter with Down Syndrome sing all of her notes on the same monotoned pitch. She told me that she would not give up on her if I didn't and she has gotten her to consistently sing Do (C), Re (D), Mi (E)
Fa (F) and So (G) and inconsistently sing some more notes. She also has taught my daughter to not give up and to listen and try her best. She utilizes many types of teaching materials such as warm up scale books on a student's level to broadway hits books and other songbooks and songs that will help a student develop his/her range. She also pays attention to good posture and breathing and explains where the breaths should be felt in the person's mouth and also uses silly sounds to get children to make high and low sounds. She is very caring and goes the extra mile and has a beautiful voice herself and also plays the piano and transposes beautifully. We have been transposing most of my daughter's songs to a lower key due to her limited voice range and expanding that slowly. My daughter never balks at going to her lessons, and we are happy with what she has learned and will continue to learn from Barbara!

Adam is an excellent instructor. He kept my 9 year old granddaughter motivated from week to week. He made learning "fun" & designed his instruction around the kind of music she is interested in. He kept her challenged with things to practice from week to week. Adam is great with kids and I highly recommend him for anyone wanting to learn or expand their knowledge of guitar. Adam is not only talented, but very personable.

I really enjoyed having Adam as a Ukulele instructor! He was very friendly, professional and accommodating. He went out of his way to find songs for me to learn that were within my ability. I've never played a musical instrument before and he not only taught me the basics of how to play the ukulele, but some fundamental music principals. Adam even took the time to research how to help me fix my ukulele when the supplier I bought it from was no help. He is a very talented musician and is patient with beginners. I would highly recommend Adam if you are looking for a music instructor!

John is really good at laying out the fundamentals, and elaborating enough to where even the newest of beginners will understand. He's not a grouchy instructor, so anything he feels you don't quite pick up on will be practice material. Quiet learning atmosphere which is really important. I'd suggest him to anyone looking to learn piano.
Howard J. Lansing, MI

About Howard

Greetings. I've been teaching violin and viola for about four years now. I've taught beginning through advanced students, both kids and adults, on both the violin and viola. With this varied teaching experience, I've had a lots of practice finding the right teaching approach for each individual student. I'm comfortable working out of many different method books, but I've also been working on putting together a method of my own that is designed to quickly give a beginning student the ability to play whatever style of music they want, whether that is classical, folk, bluegrass or even rock and roll.

Can Anyone Learn to Sing? Five Steps to Instantly Improve
Can anyone learn to sing? You could be forgiven for thinking “no” is the answer to that question, especially if you’ve seen episodes of TV talent shows where singer after singer mumbles in a tuneless monotone, or wails off key with confidence, but little ability. However much you might want to sing, you might have made the decis

But one can definitely improvise in any musical style. There is a lot you can learn when it
