"Kelly worked really well with our daughter who can be shy with unfamiliar adults. In addition to working on the basics they picked some fun songs to work
on that kept my daughter very motivated. On her own initiative my daughter wanted to work on a piece for the Elementary School talent show and with Kelly's help she gained a lot of confidence and had a great experience performing in the show."

"It’s one thing to have the gift of teaching music, which Michael does. It’s another, entirely, to be able to relate to young students in a way that fires
them up and keeps them excited."

"Eric is an awesome teacher! I've been learning a lot from him during our lessons. He isn't the type of teacher who makes the lessons boring or who makes y
ou feel bad if you make a mistake. He challenges you, he is encouraging, and he makes the lessons fun. I look forward to each lesson, and I'm blessed to have him as a teacher."

"Bill is top notch. I worked with Bill on Long Island in a club date band several years back. During that time he taught my nephew the drums. Bill's patien
ce and knowledge paved the way for my nephew to get accepted into a top music school. A great player and a great teacher!"
I have been playing drums for 45 years. The last 16 years I have been playing and performing professionally with my band Black Widow USA. We have toured the US several times in support of our two internationally released CDs. For about 30 years of my time behind a drum set I had given drum lessons on and off. But because of my super strong passion for the drums and my desire to share my knowledge of the instrument I decided to start teaching on a more regular basis. Although I can teach most styles of drumming I have been a die hard rock and roller most of my life. With my main influences on t
he instrument being Carmine Appice, Don Brewer from Grand Funk, John Bonham, Ian Paice from Deep Purple and for double bass Tommy Aldridge. So I really specialize in the old rock and roll, classic rock, hard rock and metal from the 50's, 60's, 70's, 80's, all the way up to today's rock, metal and pop music. I believe my years of experience are valuable in relating to each students musical interests ,desires and accomplishments on the drums. Besides playing in my original band Black Widow and teaching drums, I also play in a classic rock and metal cover band. *** Lesson Details *** I make sure that I find out from the get go what each and every new student likes musically and what they want to learn and how far they want to go on the drums. Then I try to tailor all the lessons to each students interests and abilities. Making sure that it's fun for them in the process. This can't be work or a chore or they won't stick with it. But I will say I do believe that every beginning student who has NEVER sat behind a kit before should know and start with the fundamentals ( the building blocks so to speak) of drumming such as holding the sticks, proper stick control and technique, and how to execute some important basic rudiments and keep good time. Also I think learning to read some drum notation is important so you know and understand what you are playing when you play it, but can teach by ear also. I can also teach double bass technique if a student is interested in that.
*** Studio Equipment *** Works space w/two drum sets, one double-bass and one single. Instruction material (books, CDs, videos). Seating for parents.
*** Travel Equipment *** If necessary to travel to a students home, they should have a drum kit there or at least a practice pad to get started on. I will bring sticks, a metronome if needed and the necessary instruction books for the lessons. Also willing to travel to a students home if they are just getting started and need help setting up their kit or need help tuning the drums.
*** Specialties *** Mostly specialize in beginner to intermediate ages 7 and up teaching rock ( which includes old rock and roll from the 50's, blues), classic rock ( 60's and 70's) , hard rock and metal from the 80's all the way up to today's rock, pop and metal music. Believe it or not, it's all tied together. Let me show and teach you how.

Tom is a great drum teacher and nice guy. He is a professional drummer and is very patient and knowledgeable about drumming. I would recommend Tom for anyone who wants to learn how to play drums.
Jan grew up playing music on the piano, singing in the local Methodist Youth Group Choir, and playing various instruments. He also studied formal music theory at the Washington Conservatory of Music. In middle and high school, he continued to participate in choral singing and played saxophone in the school jazz ensembles. Jan continued to study music theory at the collegiate level, was in three choral ensembles, and took formal vocal training. He began to learn the guitar during this time as well, and shortly after graduating in 2005, started guitar instruction. Since then, he has participate
d professionally in many local ensembles ranging in styles from modern rock to jazz and blues. He recently finished up an original music project, The Booby Traps, which performed locally and regionally, having the privilege of performing at the Purple Fiddle in West Virginia and the 4-A-Cure Fest in Bulls Run, VA; hosted by TV personality Jim Vance. They recorded at the illustrious Omega Studios in Rockville, MD, and produced a music video for an original song named ‘Cruisin’. Omega has been a recording Mecca for artists like Prince and Elton John for decades. They won the Sound Off Live competition in 2013 and were featured artists at Baltimore's esteemed Artscape Festival; a three day event boasting an estimated 300,000 attendees! In addition, Jan produced an event with the legendary NightHawks in the summer of 2014 at Bethesda Blues and Jazz Club. This fine supper club is a historic theater in the heart of Bethesda, MD recently renovated to the tune of $8 million dollars. Currently Jan is involved in an original Pop Rock group from NYC, and will be recording and touring with them in the near future!

great teacher, I love the way he interact with my son, making sure they understand each other. he takes the time to understand how my son learns and listen to his questions. He finds the easiest way to bring the lesson across and ensure that the practice time is chosen by my son so he feels he is a part of what going on and he his responsible for his learning. I will have no reservation in recommending Jan. He is great

I was Jan's previous lesson manager, and he was reliable and enthusiastic! Good with kids of all ages. Jan personalizes lessons for each student and patiently works with them to progress to their musical goal.
My educational background is in flute performance; I have completed a Bachelor's from American University, Master's at Catholic University, and Artist Certificate at George Mason University, all in music. I have been teaching flute lessons to students of all different levels, from beginners to adults, since 2010 and would love to add to my studio!
Another passion of mine is math. I began volunteering as a peer tutor in high school and have since had experience in helping a wide variety of ages and ability levels throughout many different curricula. I am able to provide great test taking tip
s, homework help, and an extra boost to keep students ahead of the class.

Kim is truly amazing in every way. She is the best math tutor in Washington DC hands down. She is patient, smart and extremely easy to work with and learn from. She has helped me enormously prepare for getting into business school. I strongly recommend her to anyone seeking a fantastic math tutor who knows how to break down difficult concepts in a comprehensible manner.
International guitarist Earl C. is now offering in-person and online coaching sessions. With more than thirty years of experience, he has performed with many well-known artists including grammy-nominated celebrities and others such as Freddie Jackson, Regina Belle, EU, Angela Bofill, Alyson Williams, Mya, Syleena Johnson, Nick Colionne, Mike Phillips, Michael Lington, Bobby Lyle, Marcus Johnson, Bob Baldwin, Pamela Williams, and more. In addition, he has released eight solo recording projects and was the music director for multiple live and televised house bands. Earl has been teaching, produc
ing and running an independent record label for some time and recently secured an international marketing and distribution deal. In the past, his 200 to 300+ yearly live performances limited the amount of coaching clients he could take on. However, he is now dedicating more time to helping others by sharing the knowledge that has enabled him to succeed as a professional full-time guitarist/bassist/producer!

Earl Carter is extremely knowledgeable, and very patience. You will find that each session is enjoyable yet challenging. I would recommend Him to anyone from the beginner all the way to the more advanced student. If you have the desire to learn the art of music then you will enjoy His instruction. I couldn't ask for a better instructor.

Although I lacked the commitment to follow through with my lessons, Earl's teaching ability is STELLAR!!! In the short time I was taking lessons with him, I learned a lot, relatively quickly.

Aside from being a Master Guitarist himself, he is a Master Teacher! His teaching style is very unique and the little tips and tricks he has taught me has helped me advance as a guitarist by leaps and bounds. I highly recommend him!
I graduated the University of Houston in 1985 with a degree in Music Education specializing in percussion. Whether symphonic, pop-rock, rudimental, Scottish, Celtic or world styles I am proficient and hope to be your instructor. I have taught privately for 30 years, been a band director, performer, including producing 10 albums with my band - The Rogues - and was a member of the Hamilton Pipe Band in Houston when they were the first bagpipe band from the United States to win the World Pipe Band Competition in Grade 3. I also have experience as a drum and bugle corps instructor.

I've had the privilege of being Randy's Bodhran student. He has a gift for understanding how to construct the lessons around his students abilities so they can grasp the concept and skill needed to move forward in their lessons.
I was very nervous as I had never played any type of drum before but his ability to set his students at ease was apparent from lesson one.
I highly recommend Randy as an instructor.

I met Randy many years ago when he was playing with the Rogues at the MD Renfest. He is a great teacher and taught me some bodhran basics in the little spare time he had between shows. He is very patient and encouraging. If you are interested in learning the bodhran, dumbek, djembe or full kit, I highly recommend that you seek him out.
