About Kailey
My name is Kailey, and I'm 27 years old. I am a graduate of Abilene Christian University with a degree in Music (concentration in Voice). I have taken voice lessons ever since the age of 13, but I've been singing ever since I was in a crib. I've learned many things along my journey, and I would love to help other singers realize their full potential.
I have also played the piano ever since the 1st grade, and have taken lessons up through college. I offer lessons to beginners, young and old!
I teach lessons in my home studio on weekday evenings and on weekends. I also teach lessons online!
Music will always be my passion!
“Ah, music," he said, wiping his eyes. "A magic beyond all we do here!”
― Dumbledore, J.K. Rowling, Harry Potter and the Sorcerer's Stone
*** THE LESSON ***
I am a very easy going person and I like to have fun! I strive to be kind and understanding to people, especially students.
Here is what you can expect from a lesson with me:
Kindness
Support
Encouragement
Understanding
FUN
Each lesson is tailored to the student's unique needs. I use music that will suit the student's voice and experience level, and will help the student to improve in certain areas. Also, I allow students to bring in their own music that they would like to work on. I have had students bring in music for upcoming auditions, church solos, and even pieces solely for entertainment.
My lessons are all about doing things right. I focus on correct breathing, posture, etc, and help the student to learn what to listen for and feel in their own voice.
I encourage my students to spend time on their pieces outside of our lesson and emphasize the difference that practice can make. Trust me, I can tell when my students haven't practiced!
Most importantly, I strive to make my lessons enjoyable!
*** THE STUDIO ***
My studio is located at my house in a separate room. I have a keyboard, seating, music library, and a computer with speakers.
We have pets, but they are kept in a different part of the house during lessons.
*** SPECIALTIES ***
I strive to break bad habits, teach correct singing, and establish good technique. I have taught opera and pop styles, though I'm open to anything! My main focus is to get the student to sing correctly and efficiently. After that, style choice can come into play. With the correct technique, you can sing anything!

About Erin
I began teaching beginner to advanced Violin and Viola in April of 2001 in NC. I moved to California in the fall of 2008. Since moving to California I have extended my teaching to beginner Piano and Cello also. I have taught students ages 3 to 87 how to play and enjoy music on a personal level. My experience includes leading sectionals for middle school orchestra, organizing and instructing small ensembles, and organizing student recitals. Student recitals I arranged once or twice a year to showcase the
I teach because I love music and I believe God has given me a gift. Playing and teaching help me to use my talent for His glory. I love working with people and I love how music enables people of all ages to open up and express themselves in a positive way, no matter what life throws their way. I believe music teaches discipline, builds self esteem; helps set and achieve goals; and positively affects and enhances other curricular endeavors.
My teaching philosophy is to always have fun while learning, to set attainable goals for the student, to learn through encouragement and discipline, and to help students come to love music on a personal level. I focus on the character of each student and their goals and desires to see that the student and/or parents are satisfied. Teaching is a privilege for me that I do not take for granted.
*** Lesson Details ***
I offer half hour, forty-five minute, sixty minute lessons, or longer on a weekly basis, but I do Not offer bi-weekly lessons. My lessons begin with the fundamentals of music. I believe a firm foundation in rhythm and reading is important because a student may switch musical instruments one day and the basics are universal and necessary. I have a deep love and appreciation for music which I hope to instill in my students as well. I am strict in the sense that I like students to polish their pieces before moving on. I like to keep them focused on playing well, not just playing.
A typical lesson will begin with scales to warm up, a review of the previous week's material, and a new assignment. Students will memorize pieces, be proficient in scales and rhythms, and all the while laughing and having a great time. I am known with my students for my creative analogies and flexibility to try new things in order to adapt to the students strengths and weaknesses. My students look forward to coming to their lesson, and that is very rewarding as a teacher.
I primarily use the Suzuki method for Violin and Viola, because it offers progressive steps to mastering technique, style, and musicality. My curriculum includes the use of Winning Rhythms, Wohlfahrt studies, All for Strings Theory, Essentials for Strings, and many more beginner and advanced studies; including shifting and double stops.
I love music and I love working with people; teaching is just icing on the cake. I look forward to helping you achieve your goals and discover your talents and I hope we can learn together. I look forward to meeting you!
*** Studio Equipment ***
Music Stand and Keyboard
*** Travel Equipment ***
I expect the student to have their instrument, and necessary accessories ie: rosin, shoulder rest, strings, books, and music stand.
*** Specialties ***
I teach Music on Violin, Viola, and Piano, as well as beginner cello. I am very creative in my teaching methods, though I use the Suzuki Method primarily for string instruments. I believe learning should be fun. I teach all the fundamentals of music from the beginning: counting rhythm, scales, reading music, theory.

My teaching philosophy is simple; each student is unique and each student requires a unique approach.
Using my experience and training in a range of teaching methods and schools of guitar playing, I take the time to get to know you, to learn what it is you want to play, to learn your music, and teach it to you in the way you will understand.
You should expect professional, personalized, and engaging lessons each week. And ask any of my other students: you'll have lots of fun too :)

Voice students can expect to improve their tone from week to week by learning healthy vocal technique. I have taught all ages and skill levels, and specialize in teaching younger children to sing in a vocally healthy way. Students learn about releasing tension, good breath support, placement, head/chest voice and mix, as well as solfege and ear training.
I have also been playing pi
My passion is teaching kids to sing in a vocally healthy way by building on basic foundational techniques such as good posture, good breath support, ear training and release of tension. As a child, I was told often that singers were born, not taught, and I am here to tell you that I learned how to sing well during my college and grad school years, and was not a "born" singer! I learned so much about healthy singing in school that I wish I had known when I was younger, so my personal goal is to install good vocally healthy habits in all of my students.

I toured nationally as a solo performer and with a group. I have performed in a wide variety of venues such as coffeehouses, bars, restaurants, and music clubs, as well as in larger venues like theatres, concert halls, and performing arts centers. I've also done private and corporate events. So, I can teach you extensively about performing, booking, and touring.
I recorded and released four of my own CDs. So, I can help you with your r
Since I came off the road, I have focused mainly on being an Artist Development Coach because I love to help other artists and musicians thrive and share their music.
I work with anyone willing to make a commitment to their music career. But my specialty is working with musicians, artists, composers, etc. who are "not quite mainstream" and those "second-timers" who are coming back to music after a long hiatus.
If you feel like you fall between two genres, or if you've been told you're not commercial enough, I can help you. Just because someone told you "no" or the "industry" doesn't "get you," doesn't mean you can't have a completely successful music career! It just means you have to go about it a different way.
If you're coming back to music and you don't understand all of this Internet and social media stuff because it wasn't there when you left, never fear. I can help you learn new skills and you can learn to carve out your own niche.
I tend to attract singer/songwriters and recording artists, but I can also work with songwriters, composers, producers, and musicians. So, if you're having trouble getting your music career off the ground, then maybe you need some help.
You take lessons for your voice, or for your instrument (guitar, piano, etc.). Why not take lessons for your business and your career?
