I love teaching violin and viola, and have been doing it for over 10 years. I believe private lessons are an essential component to successful musical development and growth. It is my hope that my students develop the tools they need to become independent musicians. I strive to create an atmosphere that fosters not only growth in technique, but in character, personal discipline, and a long-term appreciation for music.

I am an active performer, and play violin and viola with the Atlanta Ballet and Atlanta Pops Orchestras, among others. I hold a dual-Masters degree (MM/MA) in Violin Performance and String Pedagogy from Ohio State, a Graduate Performance Diploma from the Longy School of Music, and a Bachelors in Music Education from the University of Georgia.

Shadwa is awesome! She’s very patient and understanding of student needs. She’s also very encouraging and helpful, whether you’ve had violin experience or not, and makes learning to play so much fun!

I have learned a lot from my lessons with Shadwa. She has a knack for explaining technique, for making the connections between the physical movement and the sound produced. (Yes, it really does help to stand up straight!) She takes a personal interest in her students, which makes for a great lesson atmosphere. We established longer term goals that we could work towards; I appreciated her patience and creativity. Even scales became more than just boring drills! I definitely recommend her as a viola teacher for adults!

"Wow - we’ve only done our first lesson, but it was amazing. Alexandra is so positive and really checked in with our daughter to make sure she was teaching her at the right level; not overwhelming, but still challenging enough to really get her hooked. She was very sensitive to, and conscious of, accommodating our daughter’s learning disability. It feels like a great match! Thank you , Alexandra, for a great first lesson. Looking forward to the next one!"

"Tony is a great teacher!

I started learning the clarinet half a year ago after playing the piano for almost 25 years. Even though I have a lot of music background, I had to start from scratch since I have no experience in any of the woodwind instruments. I'm glad I found Tony to be my clarinet teacher because not only he is a very patient person, he also notices my strengths and also weaknesses, so that I could spend more time on things that I need to work on to be better at the clarinet.
He is very easy to communicate, lessons are always fun and productive, I've been having a lot of fun picking up this new instrument!"

"I am a Junior in College and have been playing violin for 9 years. Dr. Cseszko is the private instructor I have had. He is encouraging and articulate. He is an incredible violinist and is able to play the pieces that the student is playing in lesson by memory a lot of times. His ability to play along with his students on violin and piano is very helpful. He is a great instructor and has helped me grow so much as a person as well as a violinist."

Learn Bass Guitar: How to Play a Walking Bass Line in 3 Steps

Looking for a way to make your bass lines move? Bass guitar teacher Miller W. shares his three step plan to creating walking bass lines... The walking bass line is one of the most fundamental parts of American music. It is found most commonly in blues and jazz, but as you learn bass guitar, you will hear its influence in almost any style of music. A walking bass line provides a strong rhythmic and harmonic foundation by smoothly moving from each chord to the next using four quarter notes pe …
