I can teach 4-string, 5-string, and 4-string fretless bass.
I can show you all styles, from jamming along to basic notes of the radio-friendly variety to intricate scales that outline the melody.

I can teach you how to use a pick, which great for beginners. I also play finger-style and slap, which are more advanced techniques.

You'll learn how to keep it low in the mix and tightly maintain the rhythm section. Then if you want, stand out on a crowded stage with blistering leads and tasty slap parts!

I will also show you the very important methods to hone in your tone and gain properly to play properly with others and on recordings. I can show you how to play in lower tuning as well!

I typically will teach and write bass using tablature instead of standard sheet music. These are a simple set of lines and numbers that are much easier to read, and once learned will instantly give you access to thousands of songs.

I can give tips on playing live or being in a band, as ...

The Violin Studio of Andrea L. offers violin lessons for children, teens and adults, from beginners to advanced players. Lessons are conducted one-on-one in my private studio in the Spring Arts District of Philadelphia. I teach traditional, classical violin playing, and students can expect to gain not only a comprehensive understanding of violin technique, but also a thorough grasp of note-reading, musicality, tone production, rhythm, ear-training, theory and practice/learning techniques.

About Andrea

Music and the violin have always resonated strongly with me. After winning various competitions in my childhood years and traveling to China to perform as a teen, nothing seemed more natural than making a lifelong commitment to the violin. I have been doing cello for close to 10 years now, and as of 3 years ago, I discovered that I love teaching! It's become a favorite way of mine to inspire other's to be the best musician they can be! The cello isn't a particularly easy instrument to learn, but I will say that it is SO worth it. It takes work, but what doesn't? I would encourage everyone to play an instrument! It just so happens that I can only help with a few of those. ;)

About Leah

I am 17 years old and a member of the Missouri Philharmonic Orchestra, and the principle cellist in the Play and Sing His Praises Homeschool Orchestra, where I also get to have the pleasure of being able to teach children and adults an instrument, when they otherwise might not have had a chance.
