Jeremy A.

Casselberry, FL

About Jeremy

I am an accomplished performing musician that has experience playing many different instruments in multiple styles. I believe first and foremost that learning music should be fun and exciting with an emphasis on self exploration and communication. It's these qualities in my own musicianship that have helped me grow a true love of music and have pushed my career forward as a performer.

*** Lesson Details ***
In lessons I use a shifting curriculum that is made to work with the needs of each individual student. I firmly believe in the importance of learning to read music and learning some bas
ic music theory, in my experience this helps the student grow from being able to reproduce the music of others to eventually developing a unique style and sound. After three to six months my beginning level students typically feel comfortable enough to play with other musicians confidently.

*** Studio Equipment ***
The In-Studio lessons take place in the living room seating and a guitar are available. 1 cat and 1 small dog kept separate during lessons.

*** Travel Equipment ***
I will provide all of the necessary educational tools such as listening samples, and printed off hand outs. The student needs to have their own instrument, staff paper and a pencil.

My first lesson with Jeremy was fantastic. He tuned right in (no pun intended) to what I wanted to learn about right after we spoke the first time. He obviously knows his stuff and I look forward to spending more time taking lessons from him.

David L.

Windermere, FL

About David

I teach Pop, rock, blues, and metal. I was taught for about 10 years on acoustic/electric and have had 5years doing private vocal lessons. After that I started teaching myself Guitar, Bass, and piano. I started playing for about five years touring and have taught in churches and learning centers. I also have a band and play lead guitar at a venue every Saturday night. I benefit from teaching when I see the student gets it and the accomplishment is what makes me speechless to the impact I have made or whatever impact there is to come! Also, feel free to check out my band at www.deardestinymusic
.com

*** Lesson Details ***
Students cant expect a laid back atmosphere with zero pressure. Learning guitar, like any other hobby or anything you wish to learn, requires dedication and love for the craft. Anyone can play any instrument they put their mind to, all they have to do is love it and enjoy the feeling of making music.

The Curriculum I use is Mel Bay's Guitar Method. It's the book I used when I was first learning and it set a firm foundation on which I have learned to build on and improve.

*** Studio Equipment ***
Digitech GNX 3000 Pedal board
Line 6 UX2 Interface
Schecter Damien Elite Solo 6
Ibanez S1170
Line 6 212
Kustom 412 Head and Half Stack

*** Travel Equipment ***
A guitar, I expect the students to have a tuner or get a guitar in time.

*** Specialties ***

Damien S.

Orlando, FL

About Damien

Orlando-based composer and guitarist Damien has made a name for himself as a writer of scores for film, theater and dance productions.;A graduate of Music Composition at SUNY Purchase (New York) and Musicology at the University College of Dublin (Ireland). Years of touring internationally and score writing has given Damien the experience and work ethic to share his musical knowledge and abilities with others. Producing 4 cds and appearing on countless others' cds and compilations; Damien can share not only his musical/theoretical talents, but his experience in producing, recording, writing, an
d performing live.

*** Lesson Details ***
Damien is a very patient and moderately, laid back teacher. He will teach what you want to learn, yet give you suggestions on other avenues to approach. Basics lead to complete knowledge of any subject. Starting from the beginning of what a student knows and moving forward step by step will only lead to perfection in their lessons. Having fun doing this, is the only way to keep a student focused and progressing. Enjoyment is the number one focus of Damien's lessons. If a student isn't enjoying and having fun with their lessons then they will not progress.
Damien teaches ages of 5-99. You are never too young or old to learn. Damien's main focus is guitar and music theory

*** Travel Equipment ***
I would expect the student to provide their own guitar (if necessary) and a notebook
I have private parking for my students, so they don't have to worry about parking, ever !
*** Specialties ***
I have been taught, on a college level, of classical, jazz, ethnic musics. I specialize in guitar, theory, composition.

I was super nervous when I went to my first lesson, but Damien was very reassuring and helpful. He asked a lot of questions to find out where I was at, and then from there he started teaching me. So far, I think he's a great teacher and will help me reach my goals.

Rebekah P.

Winter Park, FL

About Rebekah

With a degree in classical voice and over 10 years of teaching experience, I can help you reach your musical goals! Using proven methods, you can learn the techniques necessary to sing like the pros or make the ivory keys of your piano dance!

My teaching style would be best described as intense and flexible. I'm a total stickler for proper technique and classical learning theory, but I also give my students the power to choose what repertoire they work on. I often tell my pupils, "I don't really care what you're playing or singing, as long as you focus on the fundamentals learned in lesso
ns". I believe students will practice music they like, so I encourage them to pick songs they enjoy hearing. The concept that purposeful learning can be achieved using almost any repertoire is at the core of my teaching philosophy.

Acoustic Guitar · In studio
I am the owner of DG Rockers Guitar and Music School, a private music school located in Brooklyn, NY. Mr. Valentín has served as music instructor as well as music director for over 2 years at my school. Based on my experience, I believe his dedication, passion, knowledge, and innovation have proved to make him an amazing teacher.

I first met Francisco on October of the year 2013 when he was interviewing for the position of piano instructor at my school and I remember right away knowing that he would be a great fit. His humility and passion towards serving others was evident right away. Francisco has an incredible gift of being able to connect with young people through music.

Over the years I saw Francisco take initiative and build up the music program, composing songs mindfully catered to his students’ musical development, creating his own music learning sheets, inventing comparisons and games to help his students better understand musical concepts, and even simplifying more advanced musical exercises such as the Hanon techniques so that his students could begin strengthening their coordination and technique right from the beginning. I also witnessed him bringing an idea we brainstormed together to life by creating fun and effective rock band classes and putting together concerts with me to showcase our students’ achievements.

His upbeat, positive, and kind demeanor was always a great source of inspiration for our students, their parents, and his peers. The passion with which he taught each class cultivated a love for music in every student’s heart that I believe has left a lasting imprint. We always believed in building a sense of community with our students and their parents. This was something that Mr. Valentín was very passionate about, to the extent that he became a mentor and positive role model to our students, catching up with them every class, advising them positively on all matters musical and non-musical, and even bringing them Christmas gifts. He also became a great friend to our family of parents, always treating them with respect, kindness, and talking with them after classes.

I believe Mr. Valentín would be a tremendous teacher for anyone and has my utmost recommendation.
