Chase G.

Altamonte Springs, FL

About Chase

Born in Atlanta, GA, I began performing vocally and on saxophone, at the young age of 7, and it has taken me all over the world. I discovered a joy for teaching music through creative and fun methods at Lee University in Cleveland, TN (2004-2008)

I currently live in the Orlando, FL area and am outgoing, funny, and optimistic. My experience, as a finalist on American Idol, in 2007 ignited a passion to not only perform but to teach. With over 8 years of private teaching experience, I understand that learning happens differently with everyone.

Whether you are just beginning or are wanting
to reach the next level in your musical career; I am here to help motivate you and give you the tools to reach your personal goals.

*** Lesson Details ***
My teaching method is laid back, friendly, educational and motivational.

In the first lesson I will get to know the student, their goals, personality, and learning style. This enables me to customize a plan that allows students to flourish and learn at an accelerated pace.

Whether a voice student is wanting to have more control, power, and extend their range; or just wanting to be more comfortable performing in public, with work and dedication, these are all obtainable goals that, amazingly, can be reached within the first 3 to 6 Months of Lessons.

I prefer to teach students not just through learning scales but through applying vocal principles to the songs and music that most interests them. Whatever their favorite style of music we will be learning to apply what is taught in lessons to the actual songs of their choosing, in any genre. This makes learning fun and helps to keep focus and interest alive.

Many of these same principles also apply to learning how to play the saxophone! In These lessons you can expect to learn how to read music, develop a solid tone and even improvise by ear!

All lesson plans are tailored to get the student making music as quickly as possible so lets get started!

*** Travel Equipment ***
pay for students music tracks and books

*** Specialties ***
I specialize in contemporary Vocals (similar to Speech Level) as well as Classical styles of voice such as Bel Canto. My strength is building curriculum based upon the students goals and abilities to enable them to perform the styles and Genres that they are passionate about. Whether It's teaching a student to just match pitch or helping a performer connect with a song to make it a more musical performance. I truly enjoy motivating and educating so that the students obtain the proper tools to accomplish goals.

Mr. Chase is just a helpful and thoughtful teacher. I am such a newbie in singing and he really takes his time correcting and supporting me to improve myself. After few lessons with him, I have found myself more confident. He makes me love singing so much now.

I sang in chorus for almost two years when I was in high school. People always considered me an okay singer. Never thought to try private lessons. I've been playing guitar for 10 years. Most people consider me an excellent guitarist. About three months ago started playing more acoustic guitar songs with vocals but the vocals just weren't where I wanted them. So I decided to give voice lessons a shot.

Chase has been an excellent instructor. He quickly identified my major problem areas and gave me exercises to work on during my first lesson. I started doing the exercises on my commute to work a few days a week. Now I'm only three lessons in and my singing abilities have improved dramatically. When I sing for my friends they are blown away at the progress I've made.

I wish I would have started lessons years ago when I was in the chorus!

Guitar
Excellent Teacher

Dennis is an all around great teacher. He is easy and comfortable to work with, but knows exactly how and when to get things done. Most importantly for me, Dennis was able to let me know which things I needed to work on to better my musicianship while also helping me figure out how to utilize what I had already accomplished to achieve new goals. As a metal player getting into jazz improvisation I had some really strong skills and many things that needed serious work. Dennis was able to help me use my strengths from previous experience to become better at something entirely new.
Mindful of tradition, but more interested in innovation, Dennis has a vast knowledge of modern styles, chord progressions, chord shapes, and scales you can't just learn from any guitar teacher. You can hear it on his record; Dennis is just as much of an individual in his playing as he is in his teaching. Unfortunately due to relocation I can no longer take lessons from Dennis but he got the ball rolling for me into new worlds of guitar playing and musical thinking that has been incredibly valuable to me.

Guitar Instructor

I decided to re-kindle my guitar playing skills after putting down the instrument for several years and not knowing what results to expect. I was amazed to find my ability to play quickly returning while taking lessons with Dennis. He was patient, encouraging and always professional and courteous. I am now practicing every day and continue to progress. I would encourage anyone seeking a skilled and talented instructor to sign up with Dennis. He has versatility with many different styles of playing and accomplished at them all.

Take Lessons From This Guy!

I was fortunate to meet Dennis and partake in six months of intensive weekly sessions which were no-nonsense. My instrument of choice is the acoustic and electric guitar.

Dennis adds a shade of color to the audible realm of musical expression that invites all practitioners to give ear to Dennis' command of the guitar. Ask him what he's been working on lately and he will show you something; it's more than enough to inspire you to keep learning and discover your own musical voice.

Dennis was humble in sharing his credentials and is a continuous student of learning himself. He clearly shows no bias and imparts his knowledge to anyone willing to learn.

Due to relocation, we could no longer meet up in person for lessons. But now that Dennis is geared up to provide teaching services online, I can still effectively take lessons regardless of location.

I am very patient and will teach my students everything I've learned over the past 40 years.

I also teach violin chords, and applied theory as to improvisation for playing. All skill levels welcome.

I use handouts from several different music books and will tailor them to your skill level. I do expect my students to find some time to practice what I give them. I really want my students to get all the bang they can for their buck

Sharon O.

Maitland, FL

About Sharon

Sharon O. has a deep passion for music. She is a music educator and composer who believes music can empower you. After receiving her Bachelors of Music and Certificate of Music Therapy, she devoted more than 35 years training young musicians and using music as a source of healing with those in need. She has been a spiritual performer of both voice and piano and continues to be very committed to sharing the benefits of music with others.

Here are a few key points that describe her music ideology and piano teaching method and why it has proven to be successful:

People like to play music
that they know and can relate to and to share music with others. They enjoy playing familiar melodies. Over the past few years, she has written and arranged hundreds of songs that are playable and accessible – and has watched her students' motivation level increase in leaps and bounds! There is rarely a struggle to practice at home, because the students enjoy practicing so much!

No individual fits into one learning slot. Generally, students have a mixture of learning styles and needs and Ms. O. has developed a method which is flexible and tailor-made to every student's needs.

Each student collects their favorite songs to play and makes their own songbooks, their love of piano grows rapidly while they develop their music reading and technical skills. Ultimately,Ms. O. has seen that most students start to become more curious and willing to learn and venture into new music that they do not necessarily recognize as time goes on.

Ms. O. believes that every individual can feel successful at the piano and when they study with her they will enjoy themselves and become more creative human beings.

Regarding young children....It is never too early to instill the gift of music ….early learning sets the groundwork for how children will view music for the rest of their lives!

Lessons should always be fun and engaging .

Ms. O. loves sharing music with others and develops as very warm rapport from the onset!

Singing
Cares about her students

I just wanted to take the time to say Thank you for allowing my child the opportunity to sing the solo between productions. I think she did a great job and it allowed her to experience what it feels like to sing/perform in front of a large group.
You are a fantastic teacher and I am glad we found you!

From the first moment I started retraining my voice with her, singing has become a joy again. Her teaching skills are seamless, her personality a delight. With her use of visualization and exercises she inspires confidence, and after a few weeks I am improving more than I have in years!
