*** Lesson Details ***
I am a very fun loving person and believe in creating a positive environment where students feel comfortable to be themselves. At the same time I am a stickler for details and do not allow laziness. I believe a balance of fun with excellence has allowed my students to excel far beyond their own expectations. Good results takes HARD WORK! Please do not come to lessons with the expectation to sing like Beyoncé or play piano at Carnegie Hall after 4 lessons. Mastering your voice and instrument takes equal parts of time, hard work, dedication and patience.

My teaching style is individually based.
For vocal clients, I asses their strengths and weaknesses and develop a plan to build up their weak areas while helping them find "their own voice". I focus on breathing, intonation and control which I believe are the foundation of great singing ability. I use a classical Italian based program along with pop, R&B, jazz, and rock. I have vocal coached in many languages including Spanish, Japanese and Chinese.

For piano clients I focus on strength, dexterity and precision in fingering. I also help students learn to feel the music and bring their personality and touch to each piece they are performing.

*** Studio Equipment ***
Tanisha currently teaches at her performing arts academy the White H Arts Academy. There are private instruction rooms and a lobby waiting area for parents and guests. Parents may also sit in the lesson room if desired. Private lesson rooms include a piano, speakers, and a music stand.

The White H Arts Academy also has two state of the art mirrored dance rooms with sound systems and wireless microphones for practicing stage performances or rehearsing for a big show.

Vocal genres are classical (opera), pop, R&B, gospel, rock, jazz, blues and musical theater. I studied voice at Berklee College of Music. Have also studied Seth Riggs SLS (Speech Level Singing) method independently, however, I am not certified. I also teach in languages other than English including Spanish, Japanese and Chinese.

Piano instruction levels I teach are basic to intermediary focusing on classical, and general accompaniment abilities.

When I first signed up with take lessons I was very skeptical. I had never done anything like this before and had no idea what to expect. I read the reviews which were great, but still felt skeptic because I know everyone has different experiences. I must say that all the reviews were very true! Tanisha made me feel very welcome in her home. She listened to my concerns and her feedback washed them away. I left her home studio feeling excited, confident and just high on life and what's in store for my next session.

BEST QUALITY LESSONS GUARANTEED. I incorporate good technique and challenging repertoire, while keeping it enjoyable for students of all ages! My fun and frank teaching style will keep students engaged, and I always adjust my method of teaching to each student’s special needs. Also, I host free bi-yearly recitals to give students the opportunity to show off what they have learned. What I give to my students extends beyond the piano by giving them self confidence, building their self-esteem, and inspiring a life long passion for music.

About Natsha
Natsha Siri is a piano instructor who is based in Torrance, CA.

Throughout her college career, Natsha performed extensively with various western and world music ensembles at UCLA, such as the Video Game Orchestra, Chinese music ensemble, the Irish music ensemble, the Middle Eastern Music ensemble, and the Balinese Gamelan Orchestra. After graduating from UCLA with a B.A. in Ethnomusicology (World Music Emphasis), Natsha moved to Northern Illinois and taught music lessons to over 50 private students throughout the Lake County area. Her students ranged in age from 4 to 90 years old, and she enjoyed teaching each and every one of them. Over the last 4 years, her interest turned towards piano pedagogy, the study of the teaching of piano playing. Natsha believes that the fundamental basics of piano playing and the western theory that accompan
ies it help to accelerate students’ progress with their other musical activities, whether they are picking up an additional instrument to piano, or singing in their school musical or church choir.

In June 2018, Natsha moved back to Los Angeles area to be closer to her family and start her own independent business as a piano instructor. She is currently pursuing an active membership with the Music Teachers’ Association of California, while building her roster of students in the Santa Monica and South Bay area. Natsha is excited to teach enthusiastic children and adults who have a genuine love for music.

Experienced piano teacher of 12 years accepting students ages 8 to adult, beginner to intermediate! I structure my lessons to build a strong foundation of understanding theory and technique. Although my preference is for classical, I encourage individuality and use Alfred’s Basic Piano Books for its broad application in various styles of music. Once the students complete the curriculum, they are equipped with the skills and knowledge to play most any music or proceed to advanced instruction.

About Laura
Hi, there! My name is Laura and I can't wait to meet you! I've been teaching private lessons since 2002 and have loved helping my students learn both technique and theory as I seek to motivate them to play the best that they can and to instill a love for music. Although I do not hold a degree in music, I was trained to teach by a former music instructor from the University of the Pacific. I have been playing the piano for 37 years and I am looking forward to passing my knowledge onto you and helping you reach your goals!

I've been playing piano for over 25 years and teaching piano for over 10. I use a wide variety of piano methods to fit the individual needs of all my students. Students will learn how to properly care for their instrument, how to read music, music theory, instrument technique, practice techniques, ear training (how to play by ear), and repertoire. I even have my own experimental piano courses that I have developed myself. Group piano lessons are also available at a lower cost on Saturdays only.

About Kyle
Hello potential students! I have a B.A. in instrumental music education and composition. I have taught private lessons for over 12 years. Teaching private music lessons is my primary job, so I have much experience and wisdom compared to teachers who teach "on the side." Students of all ages stay with me a long time because I am very flexible in my teaching and know how to interact with many personalities and learning styles, producing great results and progress. My specialties are piano, woodwinds, and music technology (i.e. recording and production).

Kyle has given me contra bass, aka upright bass, weekly lessons from August 2015 through May 2016. I have never played a string instrument prior to this, although I do play piano and have played the flute, bagpipes, and piccolo over the years. I did not need education in reading music.

Kyle was able to take me from sounding like a lower octave version of Jack Benny (a mid-20th century comedian famous for his howlingly horrid violin playing) to a level where I know how to hold the instrument and the bow, the fingerings, bowing technique, and how to get a very respectable sound from the instrument.

He also installed the strings when I received the new instrument, found a manufacturing flaw in the bridge height that the manufacturer subsequently paid to repair, and diagnosed a resonance issue with the instrument that was corrected with a balance weight on the string below the bridge.

I have been teaching piano for over 30 years. For beginning student's, I use the "Alfred's Basic Piano Series". This will teach them playing the piano immediately. I will be teaching music theory, notation, technique, and different chords progressions. This will be introduce as my student's progress in their studies. For Intermediate and advance student's they usually want to focus on a certain type of music. For example, they might want to learn jazz techniques, classical, country, or latin jazz techniques. I will always tailor and cater to my student's ability to progress, not forgetting to use a little bit of humor so that they will have a rewarding career in music.

About Art
To my future student's, I look forward of meeting you and start teaching you how to use 10 fingers to play 88 keys on the piano. My teaching experience dates back to my college day's, as i begun teaching private lessons part time many years ago, and have been consistently teaching students the last 10 years in their homes. I have performed with many groups throughout my musical career and have had a rewarding career playing the piano. I was station overseas in Stuttgart, West Germany and had the honor of assisting 15 teachers to start a music program which was very successful. I retired with 22 years of service with the 159th National Guard Army Band with a honorable discharge. One of my favorite performances was when we play at the Palladium Hollywood in Los Angeles. My teaching style is very simple. Be creative and always involved humo
r. The student will know instantly if the instructor is eager to teach as the student is also eager to learn. For example, i would use a lot of metaphors and analogies to explain a musical concept. I would always tailor lessons to their level of skill. Nothing is more rewarding than to see one of my students at a recital and i hear their parents tell their friends,"that's my son, he learned from the best". I personally believe "teaching music" can not be taught in a classroom. One must have a love of teaching and a love of teaching that particular instrument to my students. For my beginning students, i use the the "Alfred's basic music series". For my intermediate to advance students, i start at their level of piano playing. Focusing on the type of music they want to learn.

Hello! I have been teaching piano since 2006 and playing since I was 5 years old! I have had the privilege of winning a number of competitions and awards during my stint as a professional pianist, making upwards of $300/hour, playing at events of all kinds and with multiple bands/orchestras in the process. I have taught all ages (as young as 4!) and am passionate about seeing my students fall in love with the same instrument that started my musical career. I specialize in the classical style (from Beethoven to Einaudi), a strong foundation in music theory (for any instrument), and chords and chord progressions (great for playing in bands and improvisation).

About Daniel
Hello! My name is Daniel Joseph, though most people call me "Joe". I have a number of passions in life, including academics and music. I have played piano since I was 5 years old and picked up a slew of other instruments along the way (violin, guitar, bass, drums, etc.). I was in a professional boy choir from ages 8-13 and was privileged to sing around the world, in the Vatican, on the TV show 'Dexter', multiple showings for 'Good Morning America', and more! But...piano was always my first love.

On the academic side of things, I was privileged to become a professional math, writing, and reading tutor in 2006 with Kumon Centers before branching out with my own practice. I have consistently helped hundreds of students from pre-school to college improve in those two disciplines. I enjoy building friendships with my students and would love
to help YOU improve your grades. I missed only one question on my SAT and was accepted to Harvard a few months later (though I chose not to attend). Currently, I am a card-carrying member of MENSA (a High-IQ society whose members must have an IQ within the top 2%). If you want a fun but knowledgeable tutor to help you grow, I'm your man!

Musically, I have been trained in the classical and jazz styles, taken part in piano competitions since I was 10 years old, won many awards on the regional and state level, and played with many orchestras, bands, and other groups over the years. I also had a number of years where I played professionally for events and shows. All this to say, I am no stranger to the stage and to what it takes to "make it" in the music world while still remembering why you love the instrument you play.

Whether you are wanting to learn how to play the best of Mozart, jam with your friends in a band, or build a strong foundation of musical theory so that you can switch instruments (or impress your loved ones) with ease, I can help.

I fervently believe that music and our academic studies are a part of who we are, and if you want to learn how to express yourself on the ivories or with numbers, I'm your man!

Teaching piano to children and adults has quickly become more than a job for me.
While working with my private students and being the assistant my first piano teacher, I was a teacher at the Tchaikovsky Music School Of Brussels (Belgium) for 2 years and a half. I was lucky to start teaching at the age of 16 and gained a lot of experience.
After finishing a Bachelor in Piano at the Royal Conservatory of Brussels (Belgium), I was accepted to continue my studies in New York with the renowned piano pedagogue Daniel Epstein at the Manhattan School Of Music. I have received master classes from great artists such as Menahem Pressler, Nicholas Angelich, Dmitri Bashkirov, Dmitri Alexeev, Ivry Giltis, Maxim Vengerov,Itamar Golan, to name a few. All what I learned from these legends, I feel I should give to every student who loves music and the beautiful instrument that is the piano.

Being able to see that a student react in a positive way and that he has learned something is a true gift ...

About Geoffroy
I started to study the piano at the age of 5.
Since the age of six, I am student of Prof. Hagit Hassid-Kerbel. In September 2014,I entered the class of Prof. Boyan Vodenitcharov in the Royal Conservatory of Brussels and in Septembre 2017, the class of Prof. Daniel Epstein at the Manhattan School of Music.
I participated in Master Classes given by the world renowned artists and pedagogues such as: Menahem Pressler, Nicholas Angelich, Dmitri Bashkirov, Dmitri Alexeev, Ivry Giltis, Itamar Golan, Vladimir Perlin, Leonid Kerbel, Elena Ashkenazy,...
From the age of twelve, I participate every summer in “Musica Mundi” International Chamber Music Course and Festival and I am now part of the Faculties.
I am a first prize winner of the second Steinway Piano Competition for youngs Talents in Belgium, won the fourth and the special prize of the 10th
International Competition “Young Virtuosos” in Sofia-Bulgaria and was a laureate of the 20th Liege International Piano competition in Belgium.
In April 2016, I received a prize for the best interpretation of a contemporary work in the 10th Balys Dvarionas International Piano Competition, Vilnius-Lithuania.
I played for the first time as a soloist at the age of sixteen with the Brussels Chamber Orchestra and he has also performed with the symphonic orchestra I Musici Brucellensis.
In June 2016, I made my debut in the Centre for Fines Arts of Brussels together with the National Orchestra of Belgium conducted by Leonid Kerbel.
