Hello! Thank you for viewing my page! I am happy to be part of Takelessons.com, and I hope to hear from you soon. A little about me: I have been in the Akron area for a year, and I have completed my first year of graduate work at the University of Akron, where I am working towards a Masters of Music in Percussion. My main professor is Dr. Larry Snider (mallets, snare drum, timpani, general percussion). I also study drum set with Mark Gonder (drummer for the Cleveland Jazz Orchestra) and steel pan with Matt Dudack (director, University of Akron Steel Drum Band). This past year at the University of Akron, I worked as a dance accompanist and was awarded the Outstanding Graduate Percussion Student Award for the 2012-2013 year. Thought I am a busy student, I am busy playing and ...
Guitarist Philip L. was born and raised in Jacksonville, Florida where he began his musical studies at a young age. He was accepted to Douglas Anderson School of the Arts, named by the Grammy Foundation as the top performing arts high school in the nation. After high school, Philip received a scholarship to attend Stetson University, under the direction of Dr. Stephen Robinson. While there, he was able to refine his skills and learn a great deal about the interpretation of music on the guitar. After receiving a Bachelor’s of Music, Philip became an instructor at University High School in Orange City, Florida. There he directed the guitar program, which he created from the ground up. Outside of teaching, Philip performed professionally (guitar and voice) around Central Florida in ...
These are not your grandma's piano lessons! Times have changed and so has teaching. Young students will be introduced to the piano, music and rhythm with many different activities. Older students will be encouraged to set goals and challenge themselves, with an emphasis on learning to play independently. It's important for students of all ages to be playing music they're interested in. I teach all styles, including pop music, movie music, classical music and basic jazz. I'm also offering Wunderkeys lessons. These are piano lessons specifically geared towards preschoolers age 3-5. They learn music, math and more. To learn more about the Wunderkeys program, visit wunderkeys.com Piano lessons are held in my home on my Kawaii piano. I teach most evenings and on Saturdays and am ...
I am a senior music education student at Malone University. My primary instruments are voice and trumpet, with a secondary of piano. I also have been teaching guitar for several years. I have experience playing around the U.S and also internationally on various occasions but I am now working to spread the love of music to the next generation and also those who always wanted to just learn more about playing or singing.
Thirty years ago, I was approached by a man in a chorus I was coaching. He liked what I did with the chorus and asked if I did private lessons. Although I had studied voice for over 15 years, and had been performing as a singer and actor for nearly 30 years, I had not taught privately before. However, I told him I would teach him and that began a wonderful and fulfilling career. My teaching style is unique in that I teach using a Capella (unaccompanied) techniques almost exclusively. My belief is that we have two ears and one mouth because we need to focus twice as much on critically listening to our singing as we do on mastering great singing techniques. By singing a Capella, your ears will get sharper and your ability to always sing in tune will improve dramatically. I look ...
Hey folks. My name is Zach and I've been playing guitar for over 8 years. Music has always been my passion and it's something that I love sharing with other people. I have been in several bands ranging from rock to folk, and am currently playing in an Americana band, The Gage Brothers (thegagebrothers.com). I have had some of my best experiences performing and sharing my talents with people from all across the country. My goal is to teach my students the skills and knowledge they need to be able to have their own experiences. I look forward to helping you progress in your musical endeavors ahead.
