I offer 24 years of experience playing, and 17 years teaching privately and as a public school band director. My curriculum focuses on technique, theory, style, and interpretation.

To develop quality drumming technique, an emphasis on playing position, grip, and sticking is incorporated in each portion of a given lesson.

The importance of theory and rudiments is outlined and taught with each lesson. A challenging assignment to improve technical ability and music theory knowledge directly correlated to the assigned repertoire will help students understand the structure of the music they are practicing.

Students will dedicate practice time to both rudimental drumming and set drumming. Demonstrating the highest level of performance and knowledge of a piece is the desired result. A portion of each lesson is also dedicated to students learning the various styles on the drum set.

If you are up for a challenging and fun workout on the drums, hit me up for lessons!

About Daniel

Blues, Jazz and Rock bass guitar and music theory to support learning of the instrument.

About Paul

Hi! My name is Paul and I'd love to share the joy of playing the guitar with you! I have been a professional musician and teacher for over 35 years. I know much about playing the guitar and being an artist. I am passionate about music, which is why lessons with me are so fun. I know how to custom

Paul's enthusiasm for the bass is infectious and a great motivator. I actually feel like I may be able to learn to play! In just one lesson I learned more than 5 hours of You Tube tutorials could have taught me.

Great Teacher

I played a little guitar throughout my life but was lacking an understanding of how the instrument works. I found myself strumming a few cords here and there but never with focus or improvement. After only three lessons with Paul, I'm now jamming to rock and the blues!Paul was quickly able to access my level of playing and I'm now understanding how the fretboard works and most importantly having lots of fun during lessons and practice. He teaches with passion and doesn't simply open a book but rather instills his lifelong experience and philosophy into lessons. Many can teach the mechanics of guitar but with Paul, you'll also understand the soul.

Paul Rocks !!

I just had my 2nd lesson with Paul and felt inspired to write a review. I have wanted to learn guitar for many, many years now. In the past, I have always gotten frustrated -or bored- and gave up before I ever even learned a chord. Our 1st lesson, Paul started me with some very basic mechanics. It was just the right amount of information to keep me interested and challenged but not so much that I was overwhelmed the 1st week. From just 15 -30 minutes a day of practicing, I have already gained some flexibility in my fingers and am beginning to have a "feel" for the instrument. I have seen more improvement and learned more from Paul and the exercises he has given me in just 2 lessons than I have collectively ever learned from any other teacher in the past or any book or online tutorial. His knowledge of the instrument, as well as music theory, is vast and he knows how to break it down into digestible bits for maximum benefit to the student. So I am not only learning to play guitar, I am also being introduced to music theory in a very easy to understand manner. He is very patient and creates a safe and supportive environment in which to learn comfortably. I am SO glad I found him!!! His way of teaching really works or me ~ I feel hopeful, inspired and motivated for the first time ever in attempting to learn this instrument. Thank you Paul and Thank You Take Lessons !!

A few quick things about me:
• Have been teaching for 16 years
• Am a professional studio musician
• Have played in several touring bands
• Play/teach nearly all genres
• Took 12 years of lessons from a master
• Love teaching all ages and genres

Enough about me! We all know that everyone learns differently and has different strengths and weaknesses. My process is to analyze each student's unique abilities and to create a personalized learning experience for everyone. I have taught people from 5 to 83. I believe it is important to be empathetic to each person's needs, for example, I have experience teaching left-handed people, kids with Cerebral Palsy, Asperger's syndrome, people with missing fingers and other difficulties. Parents always ask me how I can be so patient with their kids, (the real secret is that I don't have to take them home ;) but on a serious note, I always remember the extreme amount of frustrating hours I put in before I got any real results. It's the least

My son really enjoyed his lesson. Logan was sweet and “cool.” It’s exactly what my son was hoping for. He learned a few basic things and then was starting to play “Happy Birthday.” He is very excited to take his next lesson and show Logan how hard he practiced.

Get ready for a truly rich and rewarding experience. Maria studied at the Moscow Conservatory with Viktor Merzhanov. She is a 4th-generation pupil of Franz Liszt and 6th-generation of Beethoven. She was one of the fortunate few (Garrick Ohlsson among them) to study with Roberto Eyzaguirre, who was a student and friend of Claudio Arrau, one of the 20th-century's greatest pianists. Arrau studied with Martin Krause, who was one of Franz Liszt's final pupils. Liszt was taught by Carl Czerny. And Beethoven was Czerny's teacher. Through this great lineage, learn an incredible technique that will enable you to play the music of your dreams!

About Maria

Maria was born in Moscow, Russia. Her mother was a piano teacher and started Maria playing at 4. She studied at the legendary Moscow Conservatory with Victor Merzhanov. I have felt drawn to the Russian language and culture for many years and had dabbled with learning the language the past year. I really wanted to take my learning process to the next level and really needed that in-person tutoring. Maria has exceeded my expectations. She is patient, beyond knowledgable, Warm-hearted, and radiates a high vibration. She truly teaches the language and culture from the heart. My Russian skills are improving rapidly under Maria's tutorship. When you take lessons from Maria you won't just be her student, you'll be her friend.

I have been studying with Maria for two months and she is the best piano teacher I have ever had. I played piano very seriously as a child, with excellent instruction using the technique of Josef and Rosina Lhevinne. As an adult, I did not play for several decades, so I am returning to piano as an older adult student. In the two months we have worked together, I have made tremendous progress.

The technique Maria teaches emphasizes using the weight of the body to produce sound while keeping the hands and arms relaxed and fluid, which not only produces a most beautiful and expressive tone, but protects the body from injury. Although similar to the Lhevinne technique, Maria’s technique takes it to higher level. Many piano teachers do not teach a technique but, in my opinion, solid technique is critical for an advanced student and best learned from the beginning.

Maria is patient and detail oriented and teaches all aspects piano with mastery. I highly recommend her.
Zachary E.
Maria is an excellent teacher for adults. I feel like there is the proper emphasis on building fundamentals while also focusing on what I enjoy about the piano (film scores). Maria is a kind and patient teacher who is challenging and still comforting for my beginner level. I would highly recommend her for any adult looking for lessons.

"I have had a personal goal of learning to sing and get on stage for a long time (as a singer!) I am a global speaker, but have never sang. In working with Eric (after trying 3 other teachers) I have learned to have confidence in singing. It is his obvious professionalism that has made me such a fan. He is the real deal. Very talented and also a great teacher. We are working towards my goal and I can't wait to get there! I highly recommend Eric as a singing teacher."

"WOW! Seriously, he's that good.

Before I started my lessons with Christiaan I would blow my voice out during extended singing sessions and knew I needed to find a vocal coach with the expertise to help me to prevent permanent damage. He quickly identified my strengths and weaknesses and gave me many tools and techniques I never even thought I'd be capable of.

Christiaan has an amazing teaching style and always brings positive energy to each lesson. He knows how to offer constructive criticism in a gentle way that makes you excited to want to do better.

I'm much more motivated and confident as a singer-songwriter as a result of these lessons and I can't thank him enough for bringing that element to my life."

What Are the Different Violin Sizes: Prepping for Your First Lesson

If you, or your child has decided to take up the violin, there are many things to consider. For example, should you buy or rent the violin? And, is a half size violin or a full size violin right for you? In fact, determining the correct size violin for you or your child is one of the first things to do when you get ready for your initial violin lessons. The violin actually comes in 8 different sizes ranging from 1/16 to a full size which is 4/4.  As a child, I started to play the violin as …
