Steven is very personable and put my 13 daughter at ease very quickly. She was excited to start piano lessons and was very encouraged after her first lesson — so encouraged in fact that I’m glad we have purchased 5 lessons already! And she has been enjoying the practice as well!

About Liz
After graduating California Institute of the Arts with a multi-focus on several aspects of music including African dance, Indonesian gamelan, songwriting, recording, classical voice and piano, folk guitar, and more, Liz had the excellent opportunity to teach theater to a local musical theater summer youth program. All summer, she taught class sizes ranging from 10 to 26 students of the ages 5-10. Her initiative later led to being hired at this local community theater. Along with this theater teaching experience, she has been teaching piano, guitar, ukulele, flute & voice lessons for over 10 years. Her students have gone from knowing nothing about music to learning and performing entire pieces on their own as well as even auditioning & for agents and becoming signed artists in Los Angeles. Liz knows that it is her place in the world to tea
ch music & spread positivity through her own music and would love nothing more than make learning music a positive and fun experience for everyone.

*** Lesson Details ***
I teach out of the Alfred's Piano course, but am open to trying out any music books you may already have in your home. I do expect my students to purchase the books they would like to learn out of and to have the material I have given them for homework ready, completed, and practiced by the time we have our weekly lesson. I recommend at least twenty to thirty minutes of practice every day, and will give rewards for having practiced well, and for performing well in our lessons. I would love it for my students to be clear on what they would like to learn, and I love using songs that the student enjoys to make his or her music learning process fun.

***Rates****
$100 per hour lesson | $90 per 45min lesson | $60 per 30min lesson
*A travel fee may be added for house calls.

*** Studio Equipment ***

About Patrice
My interest is in developing singers to become a better version of themselves and help them reach their goals. Many of my students are singing professionally in Colorado, New York and internationally.

Background includes international and national performance credits in both opera and musical theatre. My last major gig was Carlotta in Andrew Lloyd Webber's German production of Phantom of the Opera in Hamburg, Germany for ten years.
We sang eight times a week in German! All backstage activities were in English due to the truly International cast. I loved every minute of living and working in Continental Europe.

In May, I'll be singing one of the leading soprano roles with Opera Fort Collins in The Fairy Queen by Purcell. I'm hoping my costume will have a set of white wings like the Gynbourne production.

About Marialena
Born upstate New York, I started playing piano at 6 years old, taught by my Mother, then later by an accomplished classical pianist. Moving forward to 15 yrs old, I studied piano and theory with a jazz pianist who had his own trio at a nightclub. I continued piano/harpsichord lessons in my later teens from a former Julliard student. 50 years ago, I taught piano to pay my way thru college, receiving a B.M. Degree in Music Theory/Composition with a minor in Piano Performance from San Diego State University, San Diego, CA. My music education is concentrated in the field, inclusive of learning guitar, bass, violin, cello, mandolin, clarinet, trumpet, french horn, and percussion. Afterwards, I became employed as a Choir Director at the Church of the Good Shepard Episcopal Church, Bonita, CA. Then I arranged/composed/toured with Calvin Jac
kson's 32-pc Jazz Orchestra until 1974. Mid 70's I arranged for Jeff Samaha Singers in Brooklyn, NY. Early 80's I did some music editing for Warner Bros. Studios in NYC, NY. After 2 marriages and 3 children, I resumed giving piano/theory lessons and also added vocal and drama coaching in Long Island, NY. in the 2000's. I have even played for a few weddings and church services!

My training and expertise in composition/arranging/theory, as well as playing drums, have helped me tremendously in jamming and playing in bands. I have a small music studio in my home, where I can mentor and share my knowledge and enjoyment of music!

About Paul
I started playing piano when I was three and a half feet tall. Since then I have also picked up guitar and trumpet, played classical, jazz, and rock music, and composed and improvised many hours of music. I began teaching piano in January 2019 and have enjoyed it so much I'm never going to stop.

I'm easygoing and patient. I'm thoughtful and I spend a lot of time preparing for every lesson to make sure I have something that is tailored to your needs and interests.

I'm a total music theory enthusiast. I learned theory because it helped me compose. The understanding of music I gained through theory is deep, and consequently I can teach in diverse ways. I love teaching intuitively through improvisation and call-and-response, I believe in the importance of music listening, I can explain harmony, I can teach lead-sheet notation and chord
playing, and I can help you master the instrument so you feel like you own it, rather than feeling like an alien at it.

I hope you'll contact me and we can learn some music together!
