About Sandra
I studied under Mr. Willis Ley at Ley Studio for eighteen years. She was an accompanist for the Heritage School of Dance for twelve years and also played for the School for the Richmond Ballet for One Year. Sandra was trained in contemporary, patriotic and classical music as well as music theory. She has taught children and adults piano both in their homes as well as in her home. She is an accomplished pianist who will give the student a rewarding and fulfilling experience in mastering the keyboard to their fullest potential and play any song for there own enjoyment and for the enjoyment of others.

*** Lesson Details ***
As a teacher, I would work with the student on learning there favorite song. This would be a goal to set for the student for the first three months. They would be taught to do the scale with their right hand. The
y would learn there sharps and flats and the difference between the two key signatures. They would also learn during the first six months some of the basic terms in music theory. I would set goals, but never overwhelm the student, but work with them according to how much they could take in. They would have weekly assignments. If an assignment is not mastered during that time, then we would review it and carry it to the next week. When one assignment is mastered, then the student would work on the next. This would be a step by step processed. My goal for the student the first six months is to get that child or adult to be able to play their chords in their left hand, octaves and fillings in their right hand and know how to work the pedals. They would understand and know the key signatures and what timing they are playing in. The student would also know some of the basic music terms. Please keep in mind that this depends on how much information that the student can process. With some it could take a little bit longer. With others it would take less time.

*** Studio Equipment ***

*** Travel Equipment ***
I expect payment on any music material that I purchase at the Music Store.

*** Specialties ***
I specialize in Rock, Classical, Patriotic, Standard and Spiritual and also children's music for beginners. I do a wide range of music from the fifties up to today.

I was impressed. I took lessons years ago and she turned the light on to many things I have forgotten. She has inspired me to work hard to grow. I would highly recommend. I would have given 5 stars, but the comment “best teacher ever”, to me, would be inappropriate to any teacher or person of any field.

About Ryan
Hey There! My name is Ryan B. I play and teach guitar, bass and drums, and piano and would love to teach you or help you improve your abilities! I have been playing all four instruments for 25 years, and I have a personal, laid-back style that helps connect with each student.

I have been with TakeLessons for over five years now, and am truly blessed to have worked with so many great students.I will teach you what YOU want to play, regardless of style or genre you like in music. I design my lessons around YOU, and what YOU want to learn!

Let's talk guitar! Guitar is the ultimate instrument to learn! It is versatile and portable and you can learn quickly, regardless of your favorite style. I teach acoustic and electric guitar. I cover basics, such as chords, scales and solo work. I cover a wide range of artists such as: The B
eatles, Led Zeppelin, AC/DC, Taylor Swift and Ed Sheeran. Regardless of your favorite band or style, I can help you accomplish your goals!

Piano is one of the most important instruments to learn, especially for children. The benefits are endless. For piano, I teach beginner through intermediate students. Piano is a popular choice because it has a very friendly layout with the keyboard. I use a proven 6 level method to take you from Twinkle, Twinkle Little Star to Ode to Joy! I cover how to read sheet music and cover a wide variety of musical styles!

Do you like the deep, powerful sound of the bass guitar? Well, I cover that too! The bass is a FUN instrument that is very friendly to learn. If you ever want to join a band, the bass is essential instrument, because it goes well with the drums. I cover a wide range of styles from blues, funk, rock and jazz! Go for it!

As a kid did you set up pots and pans or pillows and hit them with spoons like I did? Well, then the drums may be for you! You can learn drums with a pair of sticks! Drums are a total BLAST to play, and if you are not one who wishes to read sheet music, then the drums are perfect for you! I cover a TON of different styles, and if you have a favorite drummer, you can learn to play like him or her relatively quickly!

Need academic help? Well I can help with that too! I tutor in most subjects, including: Math, Science, Reading, Writing Skills and ACT and SAT prep

Here is a breakdown of specific areas of subjects I teach and tutor with:

Math: Pre-Algebra, Algebra I and II, Geometry

About Joe
Growing up in a musical family, I have studied piano as a child before falling in love with jazz music and drums when I got older. In school I studied jazz theory, played in Honors and All Catholic band while playing with different local artists in the Philadelphia area eventually branching out to Atlantic City. Since then, I have been exposed to a wide array of genres and playing styles such as Latin music, Reggae/Island, R&B, Funk, Rock, and more. I developed an interest in Audio Recording when I got to College while gigging and teaching privately on the side. I can teach any level, style or genre. I believe in focusing on the individuals talents while drawing out what inspires them musically and help them reach their full goals. The best teachers that I ever had always focused on what I wanted to learn while presenting a new challenge.
I always strive to make my curriculum fun and exciting for the student. Anyone can learn, and anyone can especially LEARN to learn! Music is fun!

I came to Joe with no serious interest in playing music. After speaking with him a few times I was intrigued and began lessons. His, obvious lifelong passion and understanding of the drums encouraged me to continue along my musical journey. He is a masterful guide and I look forward to my first performance.

I’m a fun and energetic teacher who loves a good laugh. I am a professional saxophone player, but can teach a range of woodwinds to advanced levels and brass instruments up to intermediate levels. I harp on the importance of breathing by teaching Breathing Gym techniques to my students for control and relaxation. I learned from the one and only Sam Palafian, the inventor of Breathing Gym while I marched at the Blue Devils Drum and Bugle Corps on the Contra/Tuba line.

About Jessica
I am a local small musician who does soprano and baritone ukulele cover videos. I record my own songs and post them online, and help others do the same! I learned guitar and viola at a young age and then taught myself how to play the soprano and baritone ukulele. I have been taught by amazing teachers, taught some of the best students including myself! My different experiences as student, teacher, and musician make learning a lot of fun. I take a lot of influence from popular you tube musicians and love using that as a tool to teach and learn. I even have an extra ukulele you can use during class if you need! I will have helpful worksheets and tools for you to take home and practice on your own time as well.

Currently I record cassettes and digital audio files. I have also created really fun music videos with all of the music produced
myself. Through high school I was in a few bands, and I have always had such a huge passion for music and seeing that passion grow in others.

My clients learn how to play in my comfortable and creative home. I have beautiful acoustics in my living room, with inspiring artwork on the walls and a ton of natural light. I work with singers and uke players of various age and talent range!

6 Tips for Singing and Playing the Piano at the Same Time
Artists like Billy Joel and Elton John may make it look effortless, but singing and playing the piano at the same time takes time and practice to truly master! Understandably, it’s difficult because you’re multitasking by "playing" two instruments simultaneously – your voice and the piano. It’s easy to lose concentration on one, while the other goes a little off; if you focus on your voice, you might mess up the timing with your fingers, and should you pay too much attention to the piano key
