*** Studio Equipment ***
I always have an amp in my teaching studio (although it's not mandatory that you play through it), and extra guitars if you're not able to bring yours. I can also play CDs or mp3s on the spot to learn your favorite songs, and I have complete and accurate tabla
*** Specialties ***
I excel in teaching technique - specifically alternate picking for speed and sweep picking for arpeggios - I can definitely help you reach your maximum potential on these techniques, among others. I also excel in the repertoire of acoustic and electric rock songs that I can teach you. I am patient as well. We can progress at your level.

--When not teaching, Ms. Figueroa is performing in local venues and progressing her career forward also as an orchestral musician. She has performed with non-classical groups also, such as: Kansas, TwoCellos, Josh Grobin, Michael Bublé, and more.
--She has been studying the violin for 18 years + and has earned both a Bachelors degree and Masters degree in Music Performance on violin. She currently has a studio 30 students large ranging in age from 6 years old to 65 years old that is constantly growing.

I’ve played guitar since I was very young and started seriously focusing on music when I was a teenager. As a teen, I helped lead worship at my church by playing guitar and singing. Since then, I’ve played at small venues, showing the music that I’ve written myself. (However, stage fright prevents me from continuing with this)
I taught my first student in 2014. He didn’t know much at all about guitar, but he wanted to be in his school’s jazz band. I led him through the steps, focused on his strengths, and six months later, he was accepted into the jazz band and they went to nationals!

The longer flute which he use, produce a warm, mellow sound which was soothing to the ears. He utilizes to advantage some of the strong points of Hindustani music-ample room available in it for swara elongations and comfortable staying on the pitches in the gamut, in tune-- which made a deep impact on the listeners.
It is again the southerners who have stolen a march over their northern compatriots in the matter of mastery over and performance of Hindustani music in concerts.

Mia served as Violin Teaching Fellow at the University of North Texas where she maintained a studio of private violin students and coached chamber music ensembles. She has also taught for El Centro College, Tarleton State University, Arizona State University String Project, and the Tallahassee Youth Orchestra. She holds a Master of Music from Arizona State University and a Bachelor of Music from Florida State University. She is currently pursuing a Doctor of Musical Arts as a student of Felix Olschofka.
