About Michael
Along with being a songwriter, performer, and recording artist, I have over 30 years of teaching electric and acoustic guitar in all styles and levels, specializing in rock. We can focus on technique, reading music in standard or tablature, music theory, improvisation, or simply learning your favorite songs. The bottom line is making sure you meet your musical goals!

*** Lesson Details ***
I will begin your lessons by pinpointing exactly what you wish to focus on, then devise an organized plan so that we can maximize our progress. It's all about YOU!

*** Studio Equipment ***
I always have an amp in my teaching studio (although it's not mandatory that you play through it), and extra guitars if you're not able to bring yours. I can also play CDs or mp3s on the spot to learn your favorite songs, and I have complete and accurate tabla
ture to thousands of songs, all alphabetized!

*** Specialties ***
I excel in teaching technique - specifically alternate picking for speed and sweep picking for arpeggios - I can definitely help you reach your maximum potential on these techniques, among others. I also excel in the repertoire of acoustic and electric rock songs that I can teach you. I am patient as well. We can progress at your level.

Had a great first lesson with Michael. We spent most of the time talking about theory and chord progression. Practiced for a half hour when I got back home. Looking forward to next week.

Michael is great guitar instructor, he always starts out wiith asking if I have any questions about previous lessons or assignments. Michael is great about teaching me better ways of playing something to break bad habits I taught myself and he explains the guitar theory if you want to learn that as well.
I renewed my lessons and would recommend Michael for any level of player.

About Kelsey
Hello! My name is Kelsey. I’m here to encourage you that your interests can become more legitimate than hobbies. Music can change the lives of children and adults, so I am happy to teach both!

I’ve played guitar since I was very young and started seriously focusing on music when I was a teenager. As a teen, I helped lead worship at my church by playing guitar and singing. Since then, I’ve played at small venues, showing the music that I’ve written myself. (However, stage fright prevents me from continuing with this)

I taught my first student in 2014. He didn’t know much at all about guitar, but he wanted to be in his school’s jazz band. I led him through the steps, focused on his strengths, and six months later, he was accepted into the jazz band and they went to nationals!

Parents, your children’s interest in music could not only b
e an effective creative outlet for them, but also a valuable life investment. When I first learned guitar at the age of 9, my dreams of what life could be were awakened. My parents didn’t know how much music would change my life, but the evidence is clear. Now, they are so glad that they gifted me that first, low end, rickety guitar.

Fellow adult creatives, nothing is stopping you on your journey from pursuing what you really want to learn, and I’d love to partner with you in taking those steps!

I am awardee of Fulbright Scholar in Residence to University of North Texas. I have made my students up-to the level of Stage performance, without viewing the sheet music( Memorized) lessons. Pl. see you tube. I have also bamboo flutes for students to practice whenever needed .Versatile flautist Dr.Surmani.R.K.Srinivasan ranks among the country’s leading flutists and hailing from a family with a musical background, Srinivasan was initially trained by his father,Vidwan Srirangam R.Kannan,a Carnatic musician and Professor at the Banaras Hindu University.
He had his training in flute from M.Nataraja Iyer and in the Hindustani system,he had Pt.C.L.Srivastava, Padmashri N.Rajam and Pt.Jotin Bhattacharya for his guidance. The logical progression of phrases from the mandra to the tara sthayi with a reposeful and melodic development is the novelty
of Srinivasan’s performance of both Carnatic and Hindustani Flute in the same stage.
The longer flute which he use, produce a warm, mellow sound which was soothing to the ears. He utilizes to advantage some of the strong points of Hindustani music-ample room available in it for swara elongations and comfortable staying on the pitches in the gamut, in tune-- which made a deep impact on the listeners.
It is again the southerners who have stolen a march over their northern compatriots in the matter of mastery over and performance of Hindustani music in concerts.
R regular broadcaster over the All Indian Radio and Doordarshan Kendra is working as Programme Officer in Doordarshan Kendra Varanasi.Dr. R.K.Srinivasan was also invited as a Visiting Professor in University of Michigan,U.S.A.during Sept-October2007. I am someone who has been involved with music at a young age. I started playing trumpet in the sixth grade, which took me all the way to the marching band at the University of Arkansas in Fayetteville. I am a self taught guitar player, but have been told by many that I should teach some beginner lessons. I love to play and have a true passion for music, and this would be a great opportunity to learn and have fun while doing so.
