Students can expect to:

1. Be able to associate a series of notes and/or chords with concrete application to an instrument (guitar or piano preferred).

2. Be able to understand from where melodies and chords originate through study of key centers, relevant scale tones, intervals and eventually, interval recognition. Knowledge of intervals is THE MOST ESSENTIAL aspect of ear training.

3. Be able to understand the mind of the composer in question as one uses songs as vehicles of analysis.

4. More easily be able to memorize melodies and chords because of a more increased association factor relating to why the notes and chords appear in a particular order.

5. Be able to have more confidence in a musical performance or recording project because of a more in-depth perspective.

6. Be able to be more creative because of a deeper perception of actually understanding the music in your head that needs to come to life.

Heather Ross is a fantastic piano teacher! She is extremely patient, kind, and understanding. She provides a good background in piano history and technic. I have been taking from her for about five years, and have learned more than I thought was possible. I would highly recommend her to anyone!
Allison
I have been taking lessons with Heather for almost 3 years and it has significantly improved my piano playing. I started as an adult learner and was stuck “in a groove” when I started lessons with Heather. She has helped me to learn more technical skills to play piano more efficiently and with more ease. She is extremely experienced and knowledgeable, so if you’re looking for the best, look no further. I have recommended her to my niece, sister-in-law, and mother-in-law. If you are looking for classical and/or hymns piano teacher, Heather is an excellent choice.
Gina
Heather is a very patient and encouraging teacher who seeks to bring out the best in your child. She is always finding ways to better herself as a teacher and to help your child reach their full potential. My child was challenged through her teaching and made great progress. Highly recommend her.

My goal as an instructor is to keep the lessons fresh, fun, interesting, and to ultimately guide the students to better teach themselves as they gain experience and familiarity with the instrument and music. Students can have their lessons catered to the music and styles they wish to pursue. Lessons are tailored to each individual student so that we can build upon their strengths and focus on lessons to improve weaker areas. Students will learn how to build dexterity, use proper technique, and be creative. Every student has different goals, some really want to learn theory and read music. Others may simply want to learn to strum a few chords. Whatever the goal, I can provide the instructions to help the student succeed!

Wow! Wow! Wow! This was truly money and time well spent. I went into this lesson with no expectations, rather just with the hope of connecting well with a piano instructor that was not only well versed but could ease me into being a student. Paul is a rare treasure. He exceeded all my hopes of what I hoped to gain from my lessons. I would highly recommend him for any piano student. If you're looking to be challenged, and learn any genre of music,, don't wait...book your lessons with Paul. Thank you Paul. I'm looking forward to growing as a student.

Paul has been very patient and wonderful with my 6 year old son who has just started lessons.

My first lesson was great. Mr. Paul was very patient and judged my skill level before making a lesson plan. Initially I was nervous, because I have never taken lessons before, but that quickly went away. I can definitely tell that he knows his stuff when it comes to teaching. He a great teacher and conversationalist.

"I'm almost afraid to write this review lest Asuka's schedule gets totally filled with new students:) I started lessons with Asuka Nov 22 as a beginner and by January 15 the notes I could sing increased by an octave.

My high C/C6 came by early December, a couple of weeks after starting with Asuka. Some of this is my voice type, but I believe anyone who works with Asuka will see improvement.

I am taking lessons with a well-regarded pop teacher from the same time period and I've developed almost entirely from Asuka's lessons vs the other teacher, and quickly too with consistent practice. What Asuka teachers carries over to non-classical singing also.

Asuka is not rigid in her approach, thankfully, and she is so nice about the million things beginner singers can correct. I don't feel embarassed singing in front of her because she is non-judgmental.

I did some online lessons when she was traveling, and I got just as much out of them so even if I leave New York I will continue working with her."

"Alyssa is truly such an inspiring and helpful person to work with as a teacher. She knows her instrument so well, like it’s a close friend she has known for years, and is so easy to feel comfortable with as a student. She’s helping me develop a more personal relationship with how I perform and how compose that feels more like an extension of who I am. I am more well-rounded, confident, and equipped to engage with new musical challenges because of our time together each week. I cannot recommend her enough."

"Ms. Katarina has been teaching my daughters for over 2 years. She's great! She's extremely flexible, very reasonably priced, and most importantly my kids love her. She has lots of patient. Not only does she teach the piano, she finds creative ways to teach through games, stories, and even through singing for the kids to remember. One time, on a cruise my 8 year old was having long conversation with the musical director about her favorite composers. It was pretty impressive because she knew where they lived, habits, if they were blind, if they could read, and even how many kids some of them had. Yes, she impressed him!"
