We will work together to learn and understand the fundamentals of piano and violin technique and theory at you own pace. No pressure and stress-free instruction.

Along with learning to play an instrument, research shows that you may have improvements in memory, language skills, ability to store audio information, discipline, ability for being attentive and planning, day to day actions such as being alert, motor skills, hearing, emotional perception (pick out exactly what others are feeling just by the tone of their voices; empathy, disappointment, etc.)

Music has always been a part of my education since my elementary school years. I continued private training throughout college, as well as after. I have my Bachelor of Science degree in Psychology from the University of Houston - Clear Lake, as well as my Life Coaching certifi
cation from The Institute for Professional Excellence in Coaching. And I am always continuing to develop my musical skills.

Our time together is more than just about learning an instrument; it's about life improvements and developing the self!

I will encourage you, cheer you on, and support you in the way you need support to achieve your goals in piano and violin!

*** Lesson Details ***
Our time together will be relaxed, laid back and casual. Student focused instruction.

*** Travel Equipment ***

I am an enthusiastic and fun teacher. I acquired my bachelor's and master's degree in piano performance. I started playing piano at the age of 6. Since I was 8 years old, I have been trained systematically and professionally throughout my years in school. My solo performances and recitals were held when I was attending the University of Wyoming. I have great passion towards performing in public, but I found greater love in teaching piano. I have 10 years of teaching experiences. I believe that the piano is our best friend and keep it close to our heart and shares this love with the world when we play.

One or two recitals will be provided by me, all the students are encouraged to participate in the recitals.Students are also encouraged to take advanced performance opportunities, in church, school, and joint studio recitals. I must be notified at least one month in advance if the student desires to participate in the events.

Students responsibility:
-Daily practice is strongly recommended. It is important and necessary for steady progress.
-Students should have neat, clean, trimmed nails at every lesson.
-Students must be prepared for each lesson.

About Rachel
I started my musical path in a Ballet Studio. I fell in love with the crackle of the vinyl record playing as I learned to listen and dance with the rhythm.

I started playing the guitar when I was in elementary and took classical lessons until I was a teenager.I really enjoy the art of practice and the journey of patience. The process of learning has helped me carve out and cultivate my style of music. It's opened up a lot of doors for me in my life. I've had the honor to play with a lot of great performers and have been lucky enough to tour the U.S. and Canada with festivals and showcases such as Vans Warped Tour, South By Southwest and the Halifax Pop Explosion.I've been the opening act for Carolyn Wonderland, Maria Taylor, Tsunami Bomb, Tilly and the Wall, Basia Bulat, Rise Against, Strike Anywhere. Anathallo, Cursive, Milton Hopki
ns, and Pony Up.

When I have free time I volunteer with the Houston Chapter of Girls Rock Camp to help teach girls empowerment through songwriting and music.

I began teaching as an afterschool job when I was 16. I was homeschooled, so I feel that the experience taught me that everyone learns differently and that there is not just one standardized method to playing music.

My teaching style varies with each student, but the one constant is my ability to make each and every client I encounter completely fall in LOVE with music. It's my super power.

Lesson plans are tailored for your specific needs and to help you achieve your musical goals and aspirations at your desired pace. I enjoy my students and making music with them.

Here is an overview of the lessons that I provide.

Guitar:
Finger Picking, Song Writing, Rhythm, Lead, Scales,Modes & Ear Training.

Songwriting and composition: Learn techniques, how to brain storm and plot your musical story line. This class pairs great with vocal lessons or guitar lessons.

Bass:
Scales, Rhythm, Beginner and Advanced song structure, Ear Training

Ukulele :
Technique, Intro to Chords, Ear Training, Strumming patterns - Ukulele is one of my favorite classes to teach. You simply can not help but smile when playing this instrument!

Vocals :
Breathing techniques, Scales, Harmonizing

Rachel is the best guitar teacher I have ever had...period...EVER! Her easy going method allows me to learn just enough as a beginner to enjoy and then move on to the next lesson. We are not concerned with learning lengthy songs or long, drawn, out scales as I am only a beginner! But at the same time we are not learning row-row-row-your boat. I am learning chords, arpeggios, hammer-ons, lite theory, and all at a very short easy pace which is what I want. Five stars for her as a teacher by far!!!

About Cameron
I give lessons from my house in north Houston and I sometimes go to students homes depending on location. I teach beginner through advanced violin. As a violin and viola teacher, my goal is to give my students fun and productive lessons. I teach my students all the essential technical and musical principles which help them to succeed at reaching their goals and avoid developing harmful habits along the way. I do not follow an exact method or course. My approach is to teach each student according to his/her particular needs which will usually require a combination of books or methods.

I have had the privilege of learning violin under some of the top violin teachers in the US. Many of my teachers were graduates of Juliard and other top music schools where they studied with some of the most famous violin teachers of the 20th century incl
uding Ivan Galamian and Josef Gingold. I have also studied with Texas String Teacher of the Year winner Henry Rubin.

Teaching Philosophy ----- Giving students to achieve their dreams
Dr. Ada teaches piano lessons, viola lessons, music theory in levels of beginner, intermediate and advanced, from age 4 and up.
I have a deep passion for teaching, especially when I see student's development with their musicality and creative ideas. As a teacher, teaching students is a reward to me. I divide my teaching strategy into different levels.
For beginners, the fundamental studies have always played an extremely significant role in their future learnings. I focus on the specific aspects, such as the hand posture, relaxation, or rhythm. From their first few lessons, I start to build their good habits on piano practice. Also, during lessons, I divide time into sections, 2/3 on pieces, 1/3 on studies (like scales or some exercises) and theory. Generally, I ask beginning students to practice as lesson length daily.
In intermediate, (the level from sonatines or above) I ask students to define their interests on specific genres and composers. But I also open and assign them to a variety of repertoires. It helps them to build the enjoyment of piano playing. For motivations, I train students for piano contests based on their willingness. Generally, I also ask intermediate to practice as lesson length daily.
For advanced students, the lessons concentrate on building their professionality and musicality. I focus not only on musical techniques but also on artistic expressions. I describe piece as a story, which creates imaginations and helps on creating their musical ideas. But I even analysis piece logically, it helps them to memorize.
Moreover, I use different learning modalities by aural, visual, or kinesthetic learners, always demonstrate in lessons.
