In need of specific exercises to strengthen my voice, increase my range, and improve my tone and interval accuracy, I took a chance on takelessons.com for the first time and found Sergio S. in Mt. Juliet TN, who immediately began to help me with all of my goals. Lessons are efficient and effective because Sergio has a plan, knows how to teach the plan, and then knows how to make sure that I understand how to eliminate bad habits and replace them with correct singing and breathing techniques. In less than five lessons, I've already begun to see significant improvement in my voice.

Took 5 lessons with Sergio to get me over a playing hump. During each lesson, we worked on a specific area. Toward the end, we went over practice routine, recorded it and he supplied source material for reference. This helped me maintain rhythm, improve chord changes, and to generally have a better grasp of theory (it really helps for speedy progress in my opinion).

By any nature, you should always practice on your own as well, but he will guide you to what needs to be done to further your ambition of playing guitar, no matter the age (i'm 35).

Both of my children have been blessed to be learning from Nancy. My son started piano lessons this year and just loves it. He looks forward each week to seeing Nancy and loves the incentive she gives him! My son is highly motivated to practice every day. They really have fun together and my son feels challenged. Nancy is also accompanying my teenage daughter who is performing a solo piece soon in competition. They are having a great time and Nancy goes above and beyond what could ever be expected with her generous time and expertise. I cannot day enough good things.

I believe that the study of music is one of the most rewarding pursuits we can undertake! Whether a total beginner, college student or adult looking to brush up on skills or learn new ones, I will help you reach your goals!

As a lecturer with the Tulane University Department of Music in New Orleans, LA I primarily teach music theory and history. As a private oboe and piano teacher, I have taught students of all ages and levels.

I received my Master's degree in Oboe Performance from the University of Akron where was a graduate assistant for oboe and music theory. I currently perform professionally, including with the Louisiana Philharmonic, Jefferson Performing Arts Society, and Rapides, Acadiana, and Lake Charles Symphonies. Having studied piano since the age of 8 through graduate school, I enjoy performing as a vocal accompanist fo
r Tulane students as well as for local churches.

I am able to offer lessons at Tulane University and am able to travel throughout the metropolitan area. As I am frequently performing throughout the state of Louisiana, I can also arrange special lessons in other cities. Feel free to contact me about scheduling a lesson!

I am also happy to assist you in finding an instrument, supplies, sheet music and method books. Having the right setup is the best way to ensure success!

Really enjoying our lessons so far! Hikaru is very flexible, which has really worked out well for me. Since I live in Japan our schedules are very different, but we've been able to make it work nonetheless. She always has lesson plans put together and sends you the PDF's before each lesson. If you are curious about things not in the lesson plan, she's always happy to explore that with you as well. Most importantly, she makes you feel comfortable while you are trying to read and speak Japanese. Thank you, Hikaru!

Hello everyone. My name is Mitch and I hope to be your music teacher soon! I have been teaching music since 2000, I have a degree in Music Education. Music is undoubtedly my number one passion and teaching it to others is most fulfilling. I have been in various bands and musical productions and I am currently holding the position of Assistant Director of Contemporary Music at the Church in which my family attends. I don't use your lesson time as my "show off time". I expect students to practice daily and attend lessons prepared and ready to build on the previous lesson. I cherish the long term relationships I have with my students, former students and parents. I hope to welcome you into that circle and help you build the skills necessary to color your life with music.

I was getting back into bass playing after a 20 year hiatus. Mitch really helped me get my legs back under me, helped me learn how to break down a song to learn the bass parts, and even got me an audition with a local band. He’s easy going but a really outstanding musician who helped me up my game tremendously. Great teacher!

About Chris
Originally from Bloomington, IN, I've worked as a music instructor and professional musician for over 8 years. I love being involved in all aspects of the music industry, whether it's writing, teaching, arranging, performing, recording, producing, or promoting.

I have taught over 50 students in the 6 years I've been teaching, and have had several of those students go on to become music majors in college. My focus as an educator is to establish fundamentals and vitally important techniques as effectively and quickly as possible with my students. Then, it becomes more enjoyable and sustainable to begin making great music (all the while incorporating those important aspects of being a musician!).

My primary instruments are drums, saxophone, and euphonium. However, I am proficient and frequently perform on trombone, clarinet, bass, g
uitar, and many other instruments. I enjoy playing jazz and classical music the most, but have performed professionally with groups of just about every popular genre! My musical interests have no bounds, and I believe that all music has something great to offer.

So, let's get started: beginner, intermediate, or advanced, we can begin rapidly building your musical foundation/career right away!

About Rebekah
It is always a cool thing when an artist who has been in the music business for a long time is suddenly “discovered.” In the bluegrass world, this is hopefully about to happen to Rebekah Long who, through her many talents, is no stranger to some of the most successful folks in the genre.

Long grew up in Lincolnton, Georgia near the famous musical kinfolk The Lewis Family and spent time touring and playing upright bass with Little Roy Lewis and Lizzy Long, Rebekah’s twin sister. She also played bass in Valerie Smith & Liberty Pike.

Rebekah was one of the first students to graduate from the Glenville State College Bluegrass Certificate Program after it was created in 2002. With a BA in Bluegrass Music and a BA in Music Education under her belt, Long immersed herself in the bluegrass business working as a recording engineer, graphic design
er, video editor while also playing in various bands.

Collaborating closely with the legendary songwriter Dixie Hall, the late wife of Country Music Hall of Famer Tom T. Hall, Long was the recording engineer and graphic designer for the acclaimed “Daughters of Bluegrass” box set, also adding bass, guitar and vocals to the project.
