Book NowI am thrilled to hear that you or your kid is ready to start taking drum lessons! I have been teaching drum set and percussion for eleven years, and last year finished my master's in percussion performance at CU, after a music education degree in Michigan.
I start students off with "repeat after me" style exercises to develop technique, coordination, and musical tone on the instruments. Then, we can dig into playing the music (s)he loves! I'm always curious to hear if there is a certain band or drummer my student admires?
About Stephen
Hey drummers! I am a working drummer and percussionist in all major styles, from blues, funk, and jazz to classical and marching band. In my off time, I enjoy playing in the mountains with my girlfriend and our cat.

I use Gary Catona’s Vocal Building technique to improve your muscular strength. After that, I will use a two-fold system of vowels (Catona) and consonant-vowel speaking combinations (Bauer) to balance your voice by training the articulators to work in tandem with your vowel placement enhancing your natural sound, support and create balanced breath pressure.
Specific to learning the Catona Method:
This is an intensive vocal work out learning the fundamentals of Gary Catona’s Vocal Building method. We will cover all mouth positions and how to execute each exercise properly. It usually takes two 1 hour lessons to get a grasp on the Basics.
*Please note I do not have to teach you the Catona method, but I highly recommend trying it.*
