I have been teaching piano since 2007 in a plethora of settings, including private teaching, studio teaching, tutoring, and coaching.

My piano studies began at age 9 and continued onto university, where I received a Bachelor of Music and a Master of Music from CSULB in Piano performance.

My other musical work includes being a choir director at church and as freelance accompanist, particularly for CSULB students with a focus on string repertoire.

I began as teaching assistant in 2006 and started formally teaching my own students in 2007.

Heather was an awesome teacher who was not only very encouraging and supportive but offered a lot of tips on how to improve on areas of singing that I wished to work on. She really listens to you and does her best to provide good feedback and additional exercises for you to work on and meet your goals. I had a wonderful and productive experience with Heather!

Heather has been fantastic for my 10 yr old! It is clear Heather's knowledge is extensive but she makes the lessons fun and is so engaging with my daughter. My kid doesn't realize how much she is learning and just loves going to her lessons every week! As a bonus, her singing actually improved as well! I was impressed! Heather is superb and all you could hope for in a teacher.

Andrew is a great teacher. He's very methodical and teaches theory right from the beginning. He draws musical notes and beats nicely on the board and plays along with the student in his ukulele. My six year old son started reading music the first day.

I liked his his studio - it is lovely with so many instruments! Looks like he teaches several instruments.

Great attitude every time you came in to practice. You can tell he has a passion for what he does and that he wants you to learn and understand guitar. It was an incredible experience getting to work with him. I still have every song and music theory paper he gave me, and I still study them. All in all he is a great teacher.

I have an extensive knowledge of music theory which I can teach students, as well as ear training, harmony, and sight reading just to name a few and depending on the wishes of
the student.

Students can have their lessons catered to the music and styles they wish to pursue. Every student has different goals, some really want to learn theory and read music. Others may simply want to learn to strum a few chords. Whatever the goal, I can provide the instructions to help the student succeed!

About Colleen
Greetings! My name is Colleen Angela. I am a graduate of Thomas Edison State University, and my area of expertise is piano hymn-playing and classical music.

Since I've been teaching I have brought over 50 students from beginner level to Chopin and Beethoven.

I have been playing, performing, and composing choir and congregational music in Churches for 10 years now. Sacred music is my first love, and this includes hymn improvisation. Not only is it extremely rewarding, but the theory transfers to Jazz music and composition quite smoothly.

I teach all ages. Beginner students I enjoy in particular; as it's always a fun experience to learn and grow together.

I look forward to meeting you and teaching you the joys of piano!

About Zoe
Hey you! I'm Zoe from Alexandria,VA. I studied vocal performance at James Madison University as a music major and loved every second of it. While at JMU, I started teaching voice to high school and other college students. I have experience working with students for theater audition preparation, choral ensemble audition preparation, learning to read music, improving ear training skills, beginner piano and healthy vocal technique for all genres of music.

I majored in classical voice and have performed in over a dozen opera productions in the United States and abroad. Most recently, I traveled to Sulmona, Italy to perform the lead role in Giacomo Puccini's beloved opera "Suor Angelica". Other favorite opera roles include Fiordiligi, Berta and The Mother from Amahl and the Night Visitors. During my time at JMU I also performed and music di
rected many musical theater productions including 25th Annual Putnam County Spelling Bee(Rona Lisa Peretti), Avenue Q (Music Director and Conductor) and Dogfight (Assistant Music Director and Vocal Coach).

I have over 8 years of experience in the choral music canon. While at JMU I participated in the Advanced Women's Chorus and was the soprano section leader and undergraduate leader of the James Madison Singers. I also have experience as Music Director and Choral Leader of the St Stephens UCC.

During my time at JMU I was the Music Director and arranger fir the premiere all-female acapella group Note-Oriety. My arrangement of JMU Note-Oriety's cover of Jessie J, Ariana Grande and Nicki Minaj's"Bang Bang" was the winner of the Song of the Year at the 2016 CARA Awards in Boston, MA and I was blessed to be runner up in the country for Arranger of the Year. Additionally, my arrangement of JMU Note-Oriety's music video and cover of Beyonce's "Pretty Hurts" has amassed over half a million views on YouTube , was featured on USAToday, Buzfeed, FOX5 News and TEDTalk Charlotesville where I was a performer and speaker.

I also love and have experience singing and teaching other genres of music such as traditional and contemporary gospel music, pop music(I'm a huge pop culture junkie), jazz music, country music, R&B and neo soul music. My philosophy of teaching voice is that healthy classical voice technique can be adapted to all genres of music, always emphasizing safe voice practices. I'm very excited to start working with you and bring my blended musical experiences to you!
