I can't really talk too much about how other teachers work, and also don't want to. But I know I have and always had many happy and successful students. From kids, adults, professionals, hobbyists to people who retired and finally have time to fulfill a life goal.

I can truly say he is one of the best teachers / tutors out there. He is not only super patient but puts so much heart and passion into the lessons.

I teach beginners through early advanced levels and have been doing so for 30 years. In my studio you will begin with the basics and when those are solid, you may choose a classical or recreational path or combine the two. The studio curriculum includes various styles and genres of music so you will be getting a well rounded education. Scales, chords and technique are also taught.

She was only 5 1/2 when she asked to start learning piano, and even though I thought she might be too young, I didn’t want to discourage her. Linda said that as long as she could count from 1-10, knew her left from right and the alphabet through “G” she could start learning piano.
We have had stretches of easy sailing and lots of rough patches. It’s been a great set of life lessons for our family.
Linda tried several different approaches to see what would work best for my daughter. She has a great balance of patience, structure and encouragement. She’ll let my daughter chatter on about (non-piano related) stuff for a minute, and then, gently but firmly, get her back on track.
We have gone to several recitals and enjoyed hearing her other students play. We are consistently impressed.
My daughter has been taking lessons for two years now, and finally loves piano. She sees the benefit of working at something that doesn’t come easy. She practices every day without complaining! (She’s practiced every day for a while now, but there was A LOT of resistance in the beginning, and middle, lol). Now she knows that most people are not just naturally talented, they actually put in time and effort.
I’m sure Linda would be great for any adult too. One of these days I just might have to find out for myself... although my daughter keeps insisting she’s going to teach me!
Daily practice at home for my children has turned into a fun habit, and I do not have to be involved much anymore. Linda is a role model for how an instructor should be and I highly recommend her to everyone. I am very thankful to Linda for bringing such an appreciation and joy of music into my sons lives. Our family moved to Portland three months ago, but we are still driving to Olympia once a week for lessons because so far we cannot find another instructor with the same excellent qualities.

I'm not young, and I'm hard to teach music theory to, but he was patient, and is helping me figure a way into learning important stuff that I find kinda dry and not fun to practice. (I'm a good player, but music theory is very challenging to me.)
