About Kate
I started teaching piano lessons privately while I was a student at the University of Texas. My students range from 5 to 14 years old, introductory to intermediate playing levels.

I have an extensive background in music theory including classical piano training, contemporary guitar, years of choir, and personal voice coaching.

I have a special ability to work with young and inexperienced students. I am the perfect teacher for a student that is just being introduced to the world of piano. I am also a great teacher for those students who have a light background but are just starting to be re-introduced to the piano.

Both of our kids (8 and 6) have been taking lessons from Kate for several months. Our kids started lessons with no experience and have made great progress in a short amount of time. Kate has a teaching approach that has been well received by our children. Kate ensures the kids remain challenged week to week while still having fun. We are lucky to have found Kate and highly recommend her if you are looking for a great piano teacher.

Kyle is a great teacher. My grandson Franklin has trouble with paying attention, but Kyle was great when it comes to keeping him focused and interested. He has been with Kyle for close to a year now, and even though he is only 8 years old, he has learned a lot! I would highly recommend taking lessons with Kyle. He makes both grandparents and students happy and, my grandson looks forward to lessons every week with him.

About Andy
I started playing guitar in the late 60s. Started playing professionally for approximately 5 years around 1978. Played music off and on until 1993 when I got involved with my churches worship band. Began teaching at Sidekick Studios in 2008.

I teach beginners and intermediate students of all types, from 9 yr olds wanting to play Taylor Swift songs to 55 yr old guys wanting to learn blues and rock. I can play and teach a variety of styles including country, pop, rock, blues, folk and introduction to jazz.

I get the most satisfaction when a student latches on to an idea and runs with it, or when a student thinks they can't do something and together we work and accomplish it!

I am into my TENTH year of teaching and plan on being around a long while!

Also, I am currently playing in an acoustic rock duo and also enjoy playin
g solo acoustic gigs at small venues around town.

Our son was a student of Andy's for 5+ years and truly enjoyed his experience with Andy. Andy is a very patient and an inspiring instructor who really knows music and guitar well! Andy was always good about being available for our son during the week if he had questions about his homework or guitar lesson for the week! Andy always praised our son when needed and challenged him in a professional manner to increase his love of the instrument!

Andy started teaching Pranav at age 6. Pranav took lessons from Andy for over 8 years. Andy has a wonderful encouraging style. He knows when to be firm and when to be kind. We moved to China, otherwise we would still be there every Saturday :) when we return in the summer, Andy is always on our list of people to visit.

I'm a professional pianist that's been practicing for 16 years and am currently studying at University of Cincinnati College Conservatory of Music. I am familiar with a wide variety of teaching and performance styles through working with experts of different schools and ideologies around the world. I am also familiar with piano playing for all difficulties, ranging from professional international competitions to playing for a local church choir. During Summer I am available most of the time and during school time I'm usually available in the afternoons and the full weekend. Any schedule and length of lessons are welcomed. Lessons will be professional, friendly, effective, to-the-point, interesting, and fun!

I hope to work with my students on any and all problems on their piano journey, using many approaches I learned first-hand from c
redited experts of schools around the world. It is my dream and vision that I can become of help for people that has love for music and is going through the same struggles that I once went through as an aspiring musician. My style is "keeping it simple"-- if one can't explain the most complex topics in the simplest words, that person does not understand the subject, as I have been the victim of unfriendly, fancy and over-the-top ineffective teaching for my career, and I seek to make the change and put an end to this in my teaching. It will be my honor to be working with every one of you!

Music has always been a huge passion of mine, especially when it comes to writing songs and singing around the community. I'm from LA and new to Cincinnati, but I am excited to spread my love for music here and teach students who have an interest in learning how to sing!

My most rewarding experience in my time at UCLA was being a part of YOUTHphonics a cappella, a youth-oriented community service group dedicated to teaching an after-school music program at Fairfax High School, whose students lost their choir program in the 2007-2008 recession. These students went from never having read a single piece of music to performing full a cappella arrangements at our end-of-the-year concert at UCLA for hundreds of people. Words cannot describe how proud and fulfilled I felt knowing that my group had made such a positive impact in their lives. I w
ant to continue to teach those who are excited and ready to learn!
