One of the most important duties of a competent instructor is teaching students how to practice. This is just as true for the rank beginner as it is for the advanced student, or even professional. Everyone can learn to play music and play it well if given competent instruction. Learning to play well is learning about the mind and body, and how to use it to one's potential. As the awareness of the self is refined, not only is the playing improved, but the potential for greatness is elevated. Lea

All my students feel like rock stars! Because I make sure each lesson is both fun and enriching.
I provide students a clear lesson plan complete with goals, achievement levels, and performances.
I use a song based teaching system so my students are learning songs they love while they get the academic benefits of music.
I don’t overbook myself so my current clients get the full benefit of my energy.
Voice lessons have other great benefits like: Better grades, higher self esteem, more confidence, and good social skills. I’ve seen this proven over and over, and I know that I’m teaching so much more than music.
I’m exclusive. I have an incredibly high success rate because I only work with students that are truly excited about music.

Piano students should expect progress in technique, reading, aural skills, and improv/composition. I enjoy teaching a variety of ages and levels from beginners to those that want to major in instrumental performance. I draw out each student's natural creativity, motivation, and strengths so that they develop into a unique and independent musician. The ultimate goal is to teach myself out of a job.
As a composer, I have been commissioned to write pieces for pre-college students across the country, concert pianists, Cincinnati Public Radio, and regional piano competitions. I am also the director of the Creative Co

I specialize in teaching at the public schools during students band hours and work with various band teachers in the Dayton and Cincinnati area to ensure that their clarinet students are receiving the best private music lessons. I welcome new students and even teach students with learning disabilities!
With students I like to stress the importance of sight reading and pitch. I teach using John Brimhal, and Dog and Bird methods. Many of my lessons focus on chords, chord structures, and chord progressions.
I encourage students to start with classical music and then branch out into other genres. I myself enjoy jazz as well as classical and pop. Students will also learn about piano composition as that is a great way to express themselves.
In addition to piano I play guitar, ukulele, and drums. When I am not playing music or teaching I enjoy swimming and bowling. I
