If you are a beginner, you can expect to first master technique of the instrument. Afterwards, you will learn how to master a beautiful tone and sound.
As an intermediate, you will learn how to approach things in a different way than normal. You will learn not only how to play something "correctly" but how to play musically, artistically and beautifully.
As an advanced student, you can expect to be challenged to think critically about technique, sound, phrasing, etc.

I have been teaching piano almost as long as I have been performing, coming up on 10 years. I started teaching beginners when I was just a teenager, and as I learned more about pedagogy and about piano myself, I branched into teaching more advanced students. To date, I have taught lessons to over 100 different students ranging in age from 5 to 70, and ranging in skill from complete beginner to college piano performance major.
Not every student is going to think I’m the best fit for them. I expect consistent practice, completion of assignments, and attention to detail in music. I have had many trial lessons that don’t pan out because the student or parent thinks my expectations are too high for them. Make no mistake; I expect a lot, but I also care deeply about music and have great understanding and sympathy for those who genuinely try. Whether your goal is to learn to read music, improve rhythm, learn to play the great classical repertoire, or simply have a good time learning the ...

Hello! I started my harp teaching life as a research doctor and therapist, using harp vibrations with patients for 9 years in Mayo Clinic hospitals. After recording Harp Of Hope as a harp therapy treatment for helping with anxiety and other symptoms, I began to meet many people who wanted to learn harp for healing their own symptoms. So I began to teach harp, specializing in adult beginners.
I am a Conservatory-trained harpist and pianist, so I emphasize good technique, but I want my students to enjoy life. So I try to fill lesson times with peace, laughter, and joy in the music. That's what it's all about! I live on a beautiful lake in Northern Kentucky, and I lead harp retreats there. I also rent harps to students. Most of my students are adults who have always wanted to play the harp... so, if that's you, too, I look forward to meeting you!
About Dr. Diane
Music gives me so much joy in life, that I simply love teaching it to others! I especially want prospective students to know that I specialize in ADULT beginners--because they know how to focus, and they have such appreciation for the joy that music brings! By age 9, I was a piano student who,

Randy taught me how to play better from the first day we met. We are getting deeper into theory and I write my own charts now. It has been a blast the whole time."

There is no doubt that Jason is a phenomenal guitarist. Very inspiring and encouraging. His guitar abilities are one of the best I have seen in person. Lessons are fun, interesting, and helpful. I have only been taking lessons for a little more than a couple months now, but I already see improvement.
It is great to take lessons with somebody who is both patient and encouraging at the same time. He is especially good at recognizing if the pace is getting too fast/slow and adjusting for that. I consider myself fortunate to have found such a good teacher."

Even more importantly, Marco is a spectacular teacher. He is a student of the voice and knows more about the anatomy of singing than anyone I've ever met. He can describe where you should place your sound, pinpoint how your body is affecting your voice, and immediately show you several exercises that target your specific challenge spots.
Marco has also helped me improve so much as a performer and musician; he has challenged me to sing songs that are slightly out of my comfort zone and given me countless tips on how to pay homage to an artist when covering them while still making the song my own. Finally, he has also helped me develop my own musical style as a cover artist and original artist."
