Aaron teaches piano to my 8 year old daughter, Abby. She is shy but loves piano and she very much looks forward to his visits! He customizes her lessons to her skill level and interests. No question he is a serious musician, but he is also laid back and funny which is perfect for young kids as it puts them at ease. Abby is thriving under Aaron's instruction, I'm so glad we found him!

Brynn is patient and kind while always pushing my daughter to reach for her potential. Being in the military we move frequently enough that it has disrupted our daughters passion for the violin. Her current school lumps all kids together based on grade not skill and that has been "boring". We are happy to see not only new things learned but our daughter is back to finding songs and attempting to learn them and practicing during homework breaks. Brynn has been phenomenal and I highly recommend her to anyone that wants to learn and have fun.

Jack aims to make each lesson fun, enjoyable, educational, and informative. He has helped middle school and high school students win positions in youth orchestras and honor bands in California and North Carolina.

Jack studied bassoon performance with Dr. David Wells at California State University, Sacramento and studied bassoon performance with Dr. Michael Burns at University of North Carolina, Greensboro. The tutelage of these great bassoonists fostered a love of music education and sharing the magic of bassoon playing with younger students.

Jack holds a Post-Baccalaureate Certificate in Music Theory from University of North Carolina, Gree

Jack is an accomplished bassoon reed maker and makes his reeds available to purchase for his students. The importance of a good reed to a young bassoonist is paramount; it is key to making great music and being successful from day to day.

Our daughter was amazed and in "Ah" with all she learned in just her first lesson with Jack. It was fantastic to see her excitement again for private lessons. So excited she wanted to continue playing and practicing even after the session. Thank you, Jack! She wanted me to let you know she is looking forward to many more days like this!😁👍

Jack is a friendly, encouraging instructor---a great match for my 11-year-old daughter. He's obviously an expert bassoonist, but does a fantastic job of explaining things clearly and simply for the less-advanced student. My daughter can't wait for her next bassoon lesson with Jack!

About Lucas
I am a professional woodwind instrumentalist, composer, and educator. I was a Fellow at the Brubeck Institute before completing a degree in Performance from Berklee College of Music in Boston.

I have been teaching privately in-person for 8 years, as well as over Skype for the last 3 years, so I have experience adapting the in-person lesson experience to an online format. I have taught at various music camps and schools across CA and given master classes for students ranging from elementary school up through the university level and beyond. I have developed my own curriculum to teach improvisation, but also adjust my teaching method to fit the learning style and goals of each student. I also make it a priority to teach my students how to continue to teach and challenge themselves, as I believe this is an important skill to have not just
in music, but in any context.

As a performer, I have had the opportunity to perform at such venues as the Monterey Jazz Festival, the Brubeck Festival, the Mingus Festival, Essentially Ellington, Dizzy's Club at Jazz at Lincoln Center, as well as other venues across the United States and Europe. I perform most often as a jazz musician, but have also studied classically on saxophone, flute, and clarinet, and have performed and recorded with groups in countless genres - including pop, funk, soul, R&B, video game music, film scores, folk music, and a host of others.

As a composer, I draw influence from jazz, classical, video game, contemporary, and many other musical traditions. I write and arrange music for a variety of contexts - feel free to look up my YouTube channel for some examples!

I look forward to partnering with you on your musical journey!
