I believe that the most important aspect of learning is a positive and comfortable environment that encourages and facilitates growth! My studio ranges from ages 9 to adult and from beginner to advanced.

Through my own studies I have experienced many different teaching styles and philosophies, and have developed my own method to help my students progress quickly and efficiently.

Every lesson will begin with a discussion about the students practicing so that we can celebrate growth and work together through challenges.

Students will be asked to study technical and tone exercises as well as repertoire that will help them progress in the necessary areas. I will help my students choose pieces that are appropriate and enjoyable.

If a student would like to study a popular song then I will gladly write my own arrangement for them. We can also learn to play by ear and improvise.

For my online students I will record solos, duets, and piano parts to pieces that we cannot play ...

I highly recommend Leanna. My nine-year-old daughter has been taking her online flute lessons since the last summer and she looks forward to the class every week. I appreciate that Leanna prepares music pieces or provides us with her own flute/piano recordings so my daughter can practice with them. Communication with Leanna have also been very efficient and pleasant. She is professional, patient, and caring; simply the best!

I have experience with teaching young and mature beginners, elementary-high school, and college. I love helping students prepare for college auditions and exploring different options as to how music can be a part of their life. Years ago I took Guitar Lessons at a local music store ( a very prominent one) as a raw beginner and quickly became frustrated with my lack of progress. Although my teacher was a great player and "very hot" to look at I soon began to feel like I was merely his "practice dummy."... I'd play the chords he showed me, endlessly,... while he seemed to be just practicing his solo playing. ... I then tried On-Line Lessons from various sites which were actually even less helpful and soon just lost interest completely.
A friend of mine said she had taken lessons from a Don DeBold for about 5 years before going off to college and highly recommended him.
I've now been taking lessons from Don for almost 2 years and having a blast ! I've learned how to play along with most of my favorite songs (mainly Blues and Rock) and now I'm learning to play Solo Guitar that needs no accompaniment !
Unlike my first teacher, during many lessons Don barely plays or even has his Strat on his lap because he's busy concentrating on what I'm doing !
He's a stickler yet lots of fun at the same time> I super recommend him as a Guitar and Music Teacher !!! Aneiah J.

"I started Bass guitar lessons from Mark about 4 years ago. He is a very talented and patient musician who really pays attention to detail. I have a busy schedule and sometimes I just can't practice as much as I would like to. to make things even harder, I play Left handed. Mark takes the time to go over things with me with out any frustration. I really had no idea what it would be like taking lessons at my age (let's just say I'm way past 50), but I truly look forward to meeting with mark for my weekly lesson. I'm making progress and one of these days I'll be able to say Yes, I can play this bass.
I would recommend any student that wanted to learn to play the Guitar or Bass guitar to Mark. you will not be disappointed."

"Roger was my first guitar teacher, and one of the best teachers that I've had the pleasure to work with. As a professional guitarist, I have had the chance to look back on when I was studying with Roger and compare my opinion now to the opinion I had while I was studying with him. My opinion now is the same as it was back then: Roger is an exceptionally capable and talented educator. He is very easy to work with and is always flexible in each lesson. Flexibility is important; an ideal teacher will have lesson plans with specific skills that he/she feels the student needs to learn, but they will also allow the student's current interests to guide the lessons. Roger was always happy to address any questions or concerns I had, but also made sure to guide my attention to critical skills that helped me grow as a musician. One such skill is proper technique, which is necessary for improving the student's ability to play and for preventing injury. With his background as a classical guitarist, Roger was able to teach me perfect left and right hand technique, which is something I still consider to be one of my strongest assets as a guitarist. His skills and interests extend far beyond classical guitar into genres like rock and jazz. In our lessons we would work on just about anything. We covered topics and styles like Jimi Hendrix, Led Zeppelin, Wes Montgomery, improvisation, James Taylor's fingerstyle playing, music theory, and sight reading. Overall, I found Roger to be an ideal teacher for students at any skill level, from total beginners to those who are highly experienced."
