I play and teach many styles of music, from classical to folk music, swing, improv, blues, and rock, and I've been playing violin for over 30 years, so anything a student wants to learn is possible with me! I listen to each student with patience and presence, helping them master the techniques they know and showing them how to advance. I'm an open book for my students, happy to answer any question they might have. My years of experience give me a deep reservoir of lesson plans to draw from, and can plan out a student's whole development with them.

About Noah

Hi, I'm Noah! I've loved playing violin for my entire life, and I'm really passionate about teaching others who love music as well. I believe in making music education fun, challenging, engaging, and accessible to anyone who wants to learn. I play and teach a wide variety of styles, from classic

I've been a professional singer and actress for over twelve years, performing on Broadway in Lincoln Center's Tony-winning Revival of "South Pacific" and touring the county with Rob McClure and Anika Larson in the First National Tour of "Avenue Q." I have an MFA in Performing Arts from Savannah College of Art and Design, graduated summa cum laude, and was the only female recipient of the Presidential Scholarship for Vocal Performance. My BA is in Arts and Education from Hobart and William Smith Colleges.

I teach all levels of singing and am familiar with different styles, like contemporary musical theatre, legit, belting, and pop/ rock. As an actor who sings I think it's important to connect with the text and let the vocal technique support those choices for the most compelling performance. My passion is creating audition cuts and crafting them into bite-sized yet complete scenes. Audition technique is key if you want to be in shows because someone has to cast you first. Sheila
A-mazing! She’s an awesome mentor! Her approach to singing is brilliant in the sense that she helps you explore yourself, your strengths and areas you could work on to improve. She helps you find and utilize your voice in a way that makes a unique artist. She digs in right to the foundation of singing (vocals) and performing. I am glad to have found her! And to add up, I never had a dull moment with her with her sense of humor and caring approach!

The clarinet is often referred to as the most challenging woodwind instrument. So, in lessons, we'll be sure to cover all the basics of tone production, breath support musicality, and technique to ensure a solid foundation to build upon. I tend to teach these concepts through the use of various exercises and etude/method and duet books which are important for musical development and also fun!

About Bill

Bill is multi-instrumentalist, jazz musician, composer, arranger and educator. He developed a strong connection to music early in life through some family tradition, encouraging parents and many inspiring and influential teachers. He has gone on to perform alongside a number of noteworthy artists a

I have been taking online trumpet lessons with Vinnie for years now. I have also studied in person with Vinnie, and played in Vinnie's band. I feel so lucky to be able to take lessons from one of the best trumpet players in the world. Vinnie has helped me progress in many areas including jazz improvisation. Vinnie has a warm personality and is very patient. In my 50 years of playing trumpet, Vinnie is by far the best teacher I have ever had. Vinnie plays so well, and performs in so many places all over the world, I can't even begin to describe his personal talent. However, on a personal level, he is easy to relate to and study with. I have known Vinnie for 35 years in the world of music. He is a colleague that I hold in the highest regard. I have had the great pleasure of performing alongside him in a number of different situations. As a sideman we have performed music on an extremely high level, everything from Jazz Standards, originals, to Weather Report etc. Vinnie's abilities as trumpeter and educator are tremendous, world class all across the board. He is great reader and his improvisation is of the highest order, creative, inventive, with thematic development and harmonic depth in the single line.

I have known, performed with, and taught with Vincent for over thirty years. I am a professional trombonist and the Performing Arts Chair at Saddle River Day School. I ran an Arts-In-Education band that performed big band jazz at schools in the NYC area for over twelve years, and Vincent was a band member. Vincent is one of the world's greatest trumpet players and jazz improvisers, and he is an excellent communicator. I have watched Vincent teach countless times, and he loves working with young people and passing along his craft and experience. He has a very warm personality and a great sense of humor. I perform regularly with Vincent in a variety of world-class ensembles, and just standing next to him on the band-stand is like taking a lesson!

Experience - Education - Patience
I have taught guitar lessons since 1992. Guitar is my main instrument, and I have played for well over 30 years. I have also studied voice, piano, and composition. Styles of performance have included blues, classical, funk, grunge, jazz, metal, and rock. I've performed solo, in bands, small ensembles, and even with orchestras.

Most of all, I'm a father to two wonderful young ladies who challenge me to grow in ways I could never have imagined. They give me patience.

About Christopher

Hi, my name is Chris, and I teach guitar lessons. I am a musician with a variety of interests including guitar, song writing, music production, and just generally rocking out! Guitar is my main instrument, though I have studied voice, piano, composition, and have performed extensively. Style

"Great with young children!

My 8 year old daughter has been taking piano lessons with Ms. Arnell for a year and has truly flourished under her instruction. Ms. Arnell is patient and goes the extra mile to motivate her students. She never rushes the lesson and sends notes of encouragement to my daughter in between weekly classes which motivates her to practice at home. My daughter is very shy but after a year of lessons and her first recital her self esteem is noticeably on the rise! I recommend lessons from Ms. Arnell to anyone who wants to give their son or daughter the gift of music."

"Great singing teacher

Jameson was a great music teacher who I would recommend to anyone who is just starting singing or is experienced but would like to further hone their skills. I learned more about technique after a few lessons with him than I did in two years of chorus at school. He has a flexible schedule for students and teaches at a convenient location right near the train station. He helped me to prepare for a college audition which I would not have passed without his help. Again, I fully recommend him to anyone looking to improve their singing skills."

Even to me (who is a beginner), it's clear that he understands music and its theory on a deeper level than most. He's been working to develop my basic technical skills (eg scales, chords, etc.) but also to learn songs that I love and listen to everyday. He's patient, friendly, not-rushed and just a generally all-around great teacher and great person. Highly recommend!!!"

What if You Forget the Words? A Singer's Story

No matter how much you prepare for your moment in the spotlight, anything can happen on stage! This unpredictability makes performing lots of fun, but it can also be scary. However, if you prepare for your performance the right way, you can even forget the words to the song you're singing and still deliver a top-notch performance. TakeLessons teacher Kayla T. went through the nightmare of forgotten lyrics and lived to tell about it...   It was a cold mid-February morning, in the year …
