"Derrick has the Magic Touch
Derrick is a peer in the music education industry. He has substituted for my students a handful of times in the past, and has
always been professional, punctual, and communicative. Not to mention, Derrick is very easy to get along with! He also went to the same music school I attended, so I know the training he has received is legit. Sign up today for Derrick's drum lessons, and turn your drumming into the next big thing!"

"BEST TEACHER EVER! I started vocal lessons with Michelle earlier this year as a long-time guitar playing looking to grow into a singer as well. She is the
best music teacher I have ever had! And I have had many over the years. Besides the obvious credentials (which you are probably listed here on the site) she has those intangible qualities that make her the best. Never-ending optimism and support, well-described and directed input, and just a really sweet, kind, and positive nature. No matter what your ability level, Michelle is the kind of teacher that will move you in the right direction. Unless you work best with the drill-seargeant type of instructor, stop looking because, you just found the best."

"I highly recommend Miss. Ilona!
My 10 year old boy/girl twins have had lessons with Miss. Ilona for several months. Miss. Ilona, who is classically tr
ained, not only keeps a nice balance between theory and performance, but also accommodates my twins' interests in contemporary music by helping them with their Spring Choral Concert music.
Every teacher has a point of view, personal preferences, and methodological bias that may fit one child but may not fit another child as well. Miss. Ilona, however, constantly leaves her doors open to communicate and listen, and make an effort to understand how my twins feel about the lesson material. She constantly adapts the material and tries new approaches to make them better violinists.
What I like most about Miss. Ilona is that she is willing to provide her students with opportunities to participate in Fund Raising and charity events by donating their musical talents. This allows her students to give back to the community what they have learned. On April 17, 2015 my twins performed at Theosophical Society Fund Raising at Deerfield Beach. On May 30, 2015, they performed at Children’s Oasis International Fund Raising to "enable today youth be tomorrow's leaders” in Africa.
After those events, my son wrote in his essay, “What matters to me most is to make people happy by doing what I enjoy doing…… While we played, the audience was very happy and cheered us after each song. It really made us feel so good…… After the performance, many people came to us and thanked us to play music for them. It really made us feel appreciated and so special. When I hear people saying they raised a lot more money thanks to us, I feel so blessed. I am proud that I can make difference by doing what I enjoy doing……special thanks to my violin teacher, Miss. Ilona and my twin sister."
As Hillary Clinton said, "...it takes a village to raise a child (the traditional African proverb)" during her own presidential compaign during 2007, it seems to Miss. Ilona, raising a musical child is a collaborative business, a business that the teacher, the student and the parents have to run together in order to be successful. Collaborative decision making with a child requires a willingness to listen, negotiate and compromise. As Jessica Turner (music educator) argues music instructors know about teaching music, but when it comes to your child and how s/he learns, we parents are the expert. As an educator myself, I appreciate that Miss. Ilona lets me work together with her to ensure the fit and quality of my twins musical instruction. I feel fortunate that we have found such a great instructor for my twins!"

"Justin provides an outstanding and quality brand of instruction aswell as a comfortable and focused environment in which to learn, work collaboratively, a
nd take risks when in a musical theatre workshop or lesson. When being vocally warmed up, Justin notices the quality of your voice for that day or time of day and uses different warm ups to accomadate your vocal needs. When working with Justin I am always discovering new things and pushing my limts with his unique mix of practicing material, learning new material, and then coorelating that material into discussions about the business aspect of musical theatre. Justin is not only a fantastic and highly recommeded teacher for me, but has become a mentor and role model to me of what a successful and prolific working actor should be."

"I only started playing guitar in earnest about four years ago, and my first teacher (not Elizabeth) was a super nice guy, but the lessons were disorganize
d, and I only made slow progress. Then I was referred to Elizabeth by a dear friend, who raved about her gifts.
She was right! Elizabeth Hethera is a lovely, gentle, and talented woman who has the gift of distilling seemingly complex musical ideas into straightforward and accessible lessons. She is a performer in her own right, an artist, and a composer in many realms. She seems to have the ability to play and teach any instrument, though strings are her strength.
In the time since I have worked with Elizabeth, she has helped me to learn to improvise in solos in a jam environment, arrange songs to play with others, pick up new stringed instruments with minimal adjustment (I now play guitar, mandolin, bass, harmonica, percussion, and sing as well); and helped me to be comfortable in mixed musical settings. She has helped me to learn to play music rather than an instrument, and it is a beautiful gift. With her encouragement, I wrote the words and music for my first song.
Elizabeth helped me to overcome the inner critic that had always held back my music: that voice that told me I wasn't up to the task. By identifying and encouraging the musical ability in me, Elizabeth helped open me up to new vistas of self-expression. Best of all, she also teaches kids, and so my 11 year old daughter is a student as well. Now we play music together, riffing and laughing and singing. I am very grateful for that. If you want to learn music on a deep and intuitive level, you really need to talk to Elizabeth!"

Hi there, my name is Sharon M. I have loved music all my life, however, over the last 25 years my passion and joy has been teaching piano.
Beginning my musical training at a young age it was continued through college and beyond. I performed and accompanied throughout the United States and Europe for many years. Following college (Seattle Pacific University - Music Education/Piano), I received specialized teacher training and certification to teach the Robert Pace Piano Approach (Teachers College, Columbia University). I also have specialized training in teaching all styles of Improvisation
with the author of "Pattern Play," Forrest Kinney. My students are excited to discover and create their own music from the very first lesson.
At your lessons you will learn how to read print music, play by ear, create your own music, and much more. The music is interesting, fun to play (never boring) and easy to understand. You will be surprised how fast you will progress! All styles, Classical to New Contemporary, are available musical choices.
I recognize that each student is unique and has different goals and aspirations so each student's lesson is unique and carefully prepared to inspire and create curiosity to make reaching the goal easy, fun and exciting.
My goal is: To discover and encourage each student's musical potential; to nurture and inspire creativity, musical artistry and a love of music; and to develop a strong musical foundation that provides the tools, confidence and enthusiasm to independently learn, create and enjoy music for a lifetime.
I look forward to helping you reach your musical goals!

I have had many guitar teachers myself including one true Famous Rock Star legend here in Pacific NW. Congrats Rog. U Earned It, & inspire myself, & others everyday.
You got to know the rules 1st, before you can then break the rules. This is how you develop your own unique style. And it's what separates the Pro Players from the rest of the pack.
But even if you don't want to play professionally, maybe you just want to learn a few chords, licks, songs, for yourself, or to impress friends. That's okay too!
I welcome every level and style. I always learn something from my students. That's what music is all about. Learning & trading tips and licks from other musicians.
Bottom Line Is... I can help you learn and progress on your instrument faster...
Let me be the Music Coach to get you there!

Excellent in both instruments and voice
I took voice lessons from Michael C. and he was very easy to work with. He always provided excellent feedback and knew my strengths and weaknesses and where to focus. He provided each week a lesson with detailed tasks and wanted to keep me on track. He didn't waste any time and was prompt and professional in all dealings. I highly recommend him.
