Seemed a little disorganized. It might have been part of the "getting to know me" process and what I wanted to accomplish. The hour went by very fast!

I have taken lessons from Benjamin, and found him to be an excellent teacher. If you are looking for someone to teach you bass, or guitar you can't find a more patient teacher. I would recommend him to anyone seeking lessons.

My teaching style puts a focus on realizing musicality and expression through proper playing technique. Playing for hours shouldn't be hard on your body! It's no surprise that it's hard to learn an instrument as an adult. Apart from a semester of guitar lessons in college, I had no musical training and no understanding of music theory. All I knew was that I loved the sound of a cello, and I was graciously gifted one on my 28th birthday.

I am proud to say that I have been Rachel's cello student for over three years now. Since the beginning, Rachel has made sure that I felt comfortable during our lessons, and she remains reassuring even when I get discouraged with my bow hold or tight fingers.

Rachel has taught me a lot about music theory, but she's mostly taught me how to love my instrument. It has been amazing to see and hear the progress I've made, and she continues to give me more exciting challenges to practice each week. She's been attentive to my learning style and my ever-evolving cello goals, and I've been consistently impressed with how she's been able to keep our lessons interesting and fun over the years.

Rachel and I meet for an hour once a week and I look forward to every lesson! She has been the best instructor, and I look forward to many more lessons to come.

I’m an adult student and Rachael has been my instructor for almost two years now. She’s very knowledgeable and PATIENT! Ive grown so much in the past two years and I’m looking forward to more.

Want to have fun in your flute lessons? What are you favorite songs! I will accompany you to your favorite tune whether it be "Be Our Guest" from the movie beauty and the beast. I will send you an accompaniment track so that you can play with the melody. We will talk about playing chords and understanding how the melody works together as a unit.
I have been teaching flute lessons since 2017. I primarily focus on using different devices to help you improve your tone, articulation, double tonguing. Some of the devices I use are the breathing bags, chop sticks or buzzing. I am a classically trained flutist and received my BM & MM in classical flute performance at Mason Gross School of the Arts. I have traveled and participated in different music festivals in the United States and Europe.

Singing in live theatre requires a set of skills that are very different from singing on film or in a studio. The ability to project (be heard) and to inject emotion and facial expressions into the music so that the audience is drawn into the emotion that you are trying to portray. Singing Broadway songs requires that you don't just sing but act as well.

My acting background is in the Stanislavski Method. I also followed Uta Hagen and Stella Adler.

About Tina

A recent transplant from Los Angeles, California; I have been singing professionally for more than forty years as well as having leading roles in local theatre productions. I have also been assistant director, musical director, choreographer, costumer and writer for many productions from West Side

"I've been enjoying weekly lessons with Eric for about 3 months now and I'm stoked with my progression. Eric's lessons are challenging, thorough, and fun. Thanks to Eric I'm reading and writing music again, learning a variety of songs from some of the greats such as SRV, Hendrix, and Gary Moore, and exploring the world of jazz guitar - something I'd never thought I'd do.

He's the master."

"Athena Murphy is the BEST Guitar Teacher!!! I found Take Lessons back in 2014 - when one of my sisters decided to take up the guitar......and I decided to give it another try also - last exposure to the guitar was my first year of college. I extracted about 20 guitar teachers off their website - to choose from. The music teacher that I was Most Impressed with was Athena Murphy. (who specialized in Guitar, Ukulele, Piano and Singing). She wrote in her bio: “IF YOU CAN RECOGNIZE YOUR FAVORITE SONG ON THE RADIO, YOU HAVE EVERYTHING YOU NEED TO BE A GREAT MUSICIAN”. ATHENA turned out to be THE BEST!!!!!!!! Her Music Education, experience and teaching style is Exceptional!!!. Take Lessons is very fortunate to have as one of their Music Instructors. Take Lessons is a Class Act as well. Very Professional. Their Customer Service is superb! Thank you Take Lessons for Everything!!! Thank you Athena Murphy!!!!!!!"
