Jen has my daughter very excited about her lessons. I am grateful seeing that during this pandemic she has had little to look forward to. It's also great that she's now giving lessons in person, which is much for my daughter.

I am an experienced violinist and violist and music educator, who loves working with adult beginners. I have been teaching for over 20 years, and performing professionally for over 30 years. Are you an adult who has always wanted to play the violin but was never able to? Were you told you were too old or that it was too late? Maybe you want to revisit the instrument you gave up as a youngster. I can help you get back on track. I can give you the skills and confidence you will need to accomplish your goals. It's never too late!

I am also gifted in strengthening the skills of those who have already had some experience playing violin and/or viola, but would like to improve, no matter your age. I can help young students prepare for all state and all county competitions. My lessons are laid back, personable, and enjoyable.

About Kimberly

I am active as a music educator, having taught violin, viola, and music both privately and in the classroom. I have been a member of the National Association for Music Education and the American String Teachers Association. I am known for my gentle and encouraging way of instructing my students, ye

Kimberly Simkins has been a wonderful instructor for my daughter, as she works to improve her Viola playing. She is very interactive with my daughter and provides good feedback for my daughter's Viola playing.

I have been happy with this instruction and I hope others have a chance to see how personable and skilled she is.

Mrs. Simpkins is a great teacher and instructor and knows exactly how to make great players. I have Dyslexia and signed up for lessons after playing for a few years. Mrs. Simpkins knows exactly how to teach me and has shaped me into a great player. If you are wanting to learn to play Violin or Viola, or want to improve she is the teacher to go to. She is through, and has a great ability to shape amazing players. She got me into senior clinic and in the last concert I was placed 3rd chair mainly because of her instruction. I hope to continue lessons with her for the next year until I graduate. Although she has not been my teacher for all 9 years I have been playing, she has been my teacher for the past 4 years and I have loved having her teach me during every lesson. Having Mrs. Simpkins as your teacher, will make your playing improve significantly. I highly recommend her to everyone!

"At my granddaughter's request, I listened and enjoyed her lesson very much! Miss Ginni was very enthusiastic and demonstrated competence in working with adolescents and knowing her music well. She could tell the notes from just listening to my granddaughter play and she continually praised her efforts.Yet she kindly corrected mistakes when needed.
I learned from listening and I think I might like Miss Ginni as a teacher too!"

"They say the best teachers never stop learning, and Bill is a perfect example of this. He is a geek for music! And his enthusiasm is infectious.

I played flute a hundred years ago all through my school years. Then I never touched it again. Until recently, when I thought it would be "fun" to pick it up again.
Poor Bill!

But Bill has shown great patience with me and is able to be encouraging while also noting some weaknesses. He's very engaging and upbeat and makes every lesson fun. He has also taken me to see professional flautists perform, and he has recommended some great books on music and flute.

I've learned so much from Bill and have enjoyed every minute of it!"
