Learn your way with an instructor who puts student needs first. I have a Doctor of Music Arts degree in Saxophone Performance and 6 years of teaching experience working with beginners in 5th/6th grade through college music majors. As a performer, I play classical recitals, big band swing dance gigs, festivals, and more. As a teacher, I focus on what the student wants to learn - anything from basic foundation skills; scales and technique; theory; improvisation; and relevant repertoire. I place an emphasis on relaxation and removal of tension from the body which will dramatically improve the student's playing abilities.

About Dr. Nick

Hello! If you would like to learn music, challenge your abilities, and express yourself by connecting with your inner artist, I can be your guide. If you want to get over the anxiety of playing music in front of others, I can help you transform that tension into confidence. Dr. Nick S. is a native

Nick is very knowledgeable and proficient on saxophone, and a dedicated and patient teacher. No matter your level, there’s always more to learn, and I highly recommend Nick for your private instruction.
Eric
Nick Stow! I learned a great deal from his private lessons. He understands how to gradually work into good and exceptional habits for practicing as well as performing. I only wish to have had more of an opportunity to perform with and learn from these lessons. As I said, it takes time and patience to come to the skill level Nick is at, but he'll work with you to grow a level you can start to excel at.
Sid
I have been playing the saxophone for over 50 years without a long term period between active playing. Nick has been very effective in my playing ability and I have learned a great deal from him.

What a delight it is to have Yoana as a music teacher for both of my children. She has the perfect blend of skill training and musical passion that she passes on to them. They not only are learning how to master the songs with excellent technique, but more importantly, she teaches them how to truly feel and understand the music. She adds in fun and even a little competition (to make tracking practice hours more like a game) and is always smiling and full of joy which makes them look forward to lessons. As a parent, I have full confidence that she is giving her whole heart to my children throughout their weekly sessions. I love how much she pushes and stretches them, all while loving and encouraging them at the same time. We look forward to many more years learning from her.

Yoana is so patient with our family and takes the time to notice individual strengths of my children. She takes into account each student's interests and guides and coaches them toward goals they are invested in. She uses a curricula that is classic and gets beautiful results! Yoana is such an amazing cheerleader for her students and her kindness and joy in supporting them is contagious. With her encouragement and strong teaching skill, students are confident and equipped to play music they love.
Kristina
Yoana has a wonderful gift for teaching flute and inspiring enthusiasm in her students. My daughter loves learning from her and enjoys her lessons immensely.

"Today was my first lesson with Chris. Things went very well. I'm not new to music, but I'm a complete beginner on the ukulele. Chris is taking that knowledge and putting together a lesson approach that will teach me how to play the ukulele well, and help me to achieve my goals. I look forward to many more productive lessons with Chris as I sense he is a great teacher."

"Major Improvement

My son and daughter both take from Ray and they love him!!! My daughter started with him after she had had 2 other teachers and she improved immediately. She loves going to Ray because he teaches her to play the songs that she likes. Now she plays so many songs for memory!! My son loves going to piano and is always excited to see Ray."

"Adam is incredibly knowledgeable, professional, and most importantly a great teacher! He's patient and great at breaking down trickier ideas to be understood by someone with minimal theory knowledge like myself. And he's a great player to boot! I would gladly recommend Adam as an instructor to anyone looking for general music theory knowledge on the guitar all they way to more advanced level jazz techniques.

Thanks Adam!"

"Rosita is an excellent teacher. She is very detailed in terms of transitioning between notes, breathing properly, and opening the mouth wide enough to sing. She is also very encouraging. On our first lesson, she told me that I had a natural talent for singing, but my voice has improved dramatically since then. I would definitely recommend her to anyone who wants to learn to sing, or can already sing, but wants to sing better."

"When I came to Bill I had hopes and dreams of having the ability to read and play any kind of piano music. As a child I struggled with reading music during 3 years of lessons with a strict classical teacher, but held on to the dream. I have waited over 50 years to live the dream I am fulfilling now. Bill had me reading and playing any piano arrangement I wanted in 3 months. I play classical, gospel, movie themes and more and loving it all. His unique teaching method inspires you with an "I can do this" attitude. He analyzes who you are, your own style and abilities and raises the bar with every lesson. As I play, he shows me how to enhance my performance with every note. He couples insight with knowledge and his 30+ years of experience to create a true pianist. He tells me I am the composer when I play, own the music. He tells me "don't just play the music, become the music". After 2 years of lessons I am living my dream and preparing for concert level opportunities. Whether young or old (I am 73 years old), Bill can inspire and teach you to play. I often wonder where I would be in the music world if he would have been my childhood teacher. I highly recommend Bill to start your child's music foundation on the right track or for yourself - to live your dream too. Thank you Bill for all you do and who you are!"
