I do not teach guitar for readers or cover artists. If you want to learn how to find your own style and build on what is unique and valuable in what you play, I can help you.

I typically can't offer much to an already advanced player as they've already acquired and embedded habits I will train less experienced players to either avoid or incorporate from a creative rather than copy-cat methodology.

Students will be taught "Expressive Practicing", a technique emphasizing skills earned through inspired playing. This is a highly individualized method based on the students instinctive capabilities such as having an natural "ear". Fundamentals are taught as applied through a run-before-you-walk set of exercises and structured improvisation techniques.

About Richard

I can't wait to work with you! I am passionate about the subjects I teach, and find nothing can compare to seeing a student "get it", so they may too enjoy the passion that comes from learning and doing something they love. Everything I teach I've learned most completely by doing as a Profession

Richard is so patient and knowledgeable. I am very happy with our lessons. Because of my background with classical guitar he wondered if the fact that he doesn't read music and I am renewing my mind back into it would not be a good teaching set-up. Not at all. I now have an electric guitar and the five years spent playing classical, now fifteen years ago, did not give me a good foundation for understanding music theory unfortunately. I have a genre I had already picked out fingerstyle electric and now with some thinking my way through the basics I did have I still need to learn just basic strumming etc. I understand what he is referring to in music so we still speak in the same key. Also and lastly my daughter has a severe seizure/dementia disorder that is very unpredictable and our caregiver's mom just passed away so there will be times when I just can't do a week/day. He has been very understanding. I am smiling from my soul because music is my healing path for difficult stuff I couldn't pay any doctor/therapist to even call me back for. Thank you so much for your assistance. Sincerely Teresa

Our daughter was amazed and in "Ah" with all she learned in just her first lesson with Jack. It was fantastic to see her excitement again for private lessons. So excited she wanted to continue playing and practicing even after the session. Thank you, Jack! She wanted me to let you know she is looking forward to many more days like this!😁👍

Jack is a friendly, encouraging instructor---a great match for my 11-year-old daughter. He's obviously an expert bassoonist, but does a fantastic job of explaining things clearly and simply for the less-advanced student. My daughter can't wait for her next bassoon lesson with Jack!
Claire
Very knowledgeable and friendly, and a great communicator about bassoon technique. Today was my daughter’s first lesson with Jack - She learned so much and has some good assignments to work on before the next lesson. We totally recommend Jack as an instructor!

Hello, welcome to my page, and to start exploring your true voice with me. The reason I call it "vocal exploration", is because one of the most important "technique" of classical singing and goal of vocal training, is to find one's unique, real voice. That is, the most "true", and beautiful voice. Believe it or not, once one finds this voice, it will likely be the most resonant tone in an acoustic hall too. Regardless of the size of this voice, it will "carry", and create pleasant sound to the audiences' ears. Therefore, lessons with me will focus on "freeing up" the voice. This involves, for example, correct usage of air "support", correct formation of vowels, and a healthy psychological approach to making sounds.

Another most important aspect of vocal training, in my opinion, should be on how to sing beautifully. This shouldn't be emphasized enough. It involves the clarity and beauty of language, phrasing, musicality, and genuine feeling for the music and words. This will be ...

About Guangda

I found my way into singing through yoga. I used to be a pianist who loved singing but could never control my voice which was always very rough, so I was pretty amazed when I started practicing yoga to notice my voice becoming flexible and smooth! I was so blown away by the effect that I became a certified yoga teacher. My voice lessons are a combination of yoga-inspired breathing exercises to help build your technique, as well as vocal exploration, working with the voice itself and practicing songs which you like.

About Shai

I am an international touring musician (singer, pianist, songwriter) from Israel, based Brooklyn, NY. I have a degree in music from Berklee College of Music. While I have toured around the world and collaborated with various artists (such as Grammy Award winner A.R Rahman), I also have a great pass

Top 4 Easy Drum Songs for Beginners

It's well-known that learning a musical instrument can enhance creativity, coordination, and overall happiness. The drums are a popular choice for their rhythmic sound and the tempo they give to group music. But while it might be nice to be able to play like Keith Moon from "The Who" right away, you're going to need to practice first in order to learn how to play the drums that well! If you're just beginning, one of the best ways to establish a foundation is to learn songs that are good for …
