As a woodwind specialist, I have developed my flute technique at the college level. Beginner studetns will learn the basic foundational skills (such as embouchure, air, posture, hand position, tonguing, and fingerings) in a fun and encouraging atmosphere where the student's needs always come first. Intermediate students can expect to be challenged with more demanding work with scales, arpeggios, etudes, and selected flute repertoire. But don't fear! I will guide you through interactive duets and listening exercises to hone your talent.

About Dr. Nick

Nick is very knowledgeable and proficient on saxophone, and a dedicated and patient teacher. No matter your level, there’s always more to learn, and I highly recommend Nick for your private instruction.

Nick Stow! I learned a great deal from his private lessons. He understands how to gradually work into good and exceptional habits for practicing as well as performing. I only wish to have had more of an opportunity to perform with and learn from these lessons. As I said, it takes time and patience to come to the skill level Nick is at, but he'll work with you to grow a level you can start to excel at.
Sid
I have been playing the saxophone for over 50 years without a long term period between active playing. Nick has been very effective in my playing ability and I have learned a great deal from him.

Alex is the best accent reduction/English teacher I've ever met.

I have tried to find private English tutors at least five times for over the last ten years. The previous experiences weren't great. All the previous teachers tried to teach me ways to pronounce phonemes and syllables, such as sit vs. seat. I didn't get a lot from those tutoring and none of those lasted more than one or two months.

I have been tutored by Alex for more than six months and expect to stick with her as a teacher for long time. I was a little doubtful during the first class when she customerized my need by letting me read a paragraph from a novel. It turned out to be the right way for me to train my English accent, as the right accent is not only about correctly pronounce each phoneme, it is actually for the purpose of conveying the meaning and emotion to listeners.

Alex is very well prepared for each lesson. She sent me all kinds of materials for me to reduce accent. Some are various formats of reading materils; others are details about how to form mouth/tongue positions for different vowels/consanants.

She has golden ears and can find out what is missing after I read a paragraph to her and then can focus on the area that I need improvement on.

It's been a great experience to study with Alex. I recommend her to everyone who need accent reduction.

My lesson went great! Alexandra understood the concept that she should adapt to me. She provides excellent, clear answers and offered additional helpful information with the whole process of learning. I'm thrilled that she customizes my needs accordingly.
Also she has a great personality.

It was great, Alexandra is the best!

I've been teaching sitar for 5 years and my students have gone on to develop a love for Indian classical music and culture. Within the first few lessons, you'll be properly holding the sitar and playing notes and phrases. Then, we take particular ragas and begin layering in raga and tala theory and more advanced techniques. My greatest joy is taking a student who started with no musical experience and getting them to the point of successfully performing on stage with tabla accompaniment.

I have always loved the sound of the sitar but did not think it would be practical to play it. Mat proved me wrong put me at ease by opening the door to this wonderful instrument, and he has made it not so daunting. It is a pleasure to learn from him, and I am really enjoying the fun challenges of the sitar.

Our daughter was amazed and in "Ah" with all she learned in just her first lesson with Jack. It was fantastic to see her excitement again for private lessons. So excited she wanted to continue playing and practicing even after the session. Thank you, Jack! She wanted me to let you know she is looking forward to many more days like this!😁👍

Jack is a friendly, encouraging instructor---a great match for my 11-year-old daughter. He's obviously an expert bassoonist, but does a fantastic job of explaining things clearly and simply for the less-advanced student. My daughter can't wait for her next bassoon lesson with Jack!
Claire
Very knowledgeable and friendly, and a great communicator about bassoon technique. Today was my daughter’s first lesson with Jack - She learned so much and has some good assignments to work on before the next lesson. We totally recommend Jack as an instructor!

"Lydia is an excellent violin teacher. She has a very gentle, patient demeanor which is so important when working with kids. My daughter started lessons just after turning 5, and though her focus was not always there, Lydia always found ways to keep her learning and engaged. 6 months later, my daughter is much more focused and already playing songs and starting to read music. I think it's important to note that Lydia is very organized, always on time, professional, and pleasant to work with. Very highly recommend!"

"Lisa is phenomenal with my daughter. Anna is a multi instrument child and in high school band. Lisa is always there for her to help her not only with her singing lessons, but piano, saxophone, flute...whatever Anna needs Lisa is there to assist. Lisa knows how to teach without being pushy or over bearing and she understands the kids at their age levels. As Anna gets older I see how Lisa's style adapts. Her strategies are sound and she's a delight to work with."

"I feel really grateful to have Brian as a piano teacher. Before I came to him for lessons, everyone had always said that I was lacking something in my playing, and I myself felt that there was a threshold I couldn’t yet reach. I didn’t get it, but after having lessons with Brian, I started to understand how to make the music sway the audience, instead of just playing for myself. I genuinely feel that I am reaching greater heights I hadn’t ever comprehended before. As a student, after a couple years under his tutelage, I had been introduced to new opportunities and taught better methods of playing. He is one of the best teachers I have ever had."

"When we went to Stone Church, Pastor Paul was the leader of music for the church. I was in awe at the way he led the music. His voice, his artful work at the piano...it was such a joy! And now, for the past several years, my daughter has had the privilege to be a student at the piano with Pastor Paul. He is very patient, and very adept at the way he teaches...encourages my daughter to play. We (my wife and I) are very lucky...actually blessed to have such a talented Godly man teach our daughter."
