"Starting music lessons so late in life, my first piano lesson with Ginni was wonderful. She made me feel very relaxed and confident. Her abilities as an
instructor are gentle but firm. Thank you Ginni. I am looking forward to many more lessons."

"I loved working with Jackson!!! His energy was always soooo positive and encouraging!!! I felt comfortable with him!!! Most importantly, he really had a p
assion to want to see me succeed! Even sometimes at the expense of his valuable time!!! Once I'm able to financially afford lessons again, Jackson will be the instructor of my choice!!! I appreciated his patience, promptness, and great line of communication!"

"Our son loves his Drum lessons.
Benk is very flexible, affordable and our son took to him very well. He even records what he has learned each week so we
both can keep track of his progress. He is much more affordable then other drum teachers or studio's in the area, and even will come to your home. If you are looking for a GREAT Teacher you should take some time to talk to Benk."

"Hi, I'm 9 years-old and I think Ruth is very nice!!!!! She understands how you can sometimes feel uncomfortable, and she puts me at ease. I'd say that onc
e you've had 3 lessons with her you'd feel completely comfortable with her. But I was comfortable with her at 2!! She teaches you how to sing in a healthy way, and teaches you how to take care of your vocal cords. Long story short, if you take her class you will love it!!!"

"Dr.Tem is a very kind and sophisticated teacher. He gave me Arrangement and Composition lessons for a one year. If you have any struggle about learning mu
sic, he is a kind of teacher who can find the solution for you."
I have played piano since age 5, saxophone since age 13, and guitar since age 15. I received a Bachelor of Music from the University of Memphis, a Masters of Education from Union, and have taught music for Memphis City Schools for the past 6 years.
I love and play a wide variety of music including Classical, Contemporary, Rock, Folk, and Praise & Worship music.
*** Lesson Details *** There won't be any fussing or hand slapping in my lessons. As long as a few simple procedures are followed, progress will soon come. Students will have an exercise book as well as a couple of pieces to le
arn. If a student is willing to practice about 20-25min daily, then at the end of 6 months he/she will be able to play their first piece!
*** Studio Equipment *** Living room w/ FW keyboard, guitar, and seating for parents
*** Travel Equipment *** I'd expect students to have their own instruments and to purchase their own books.
*** Specialties *** Popular songs, Classic rock songs, Cinema Scores, Praise/Worship music, Standard classical piano works
I have had a fairly diverse musical background, including playing with bands and orchestras, as well as participating in choral groups and opera. I have a master's degree in music performance for wind conducting, and a bachelor's degree in music with an emphasis on piano performance.
I have taught private lessons for several years now and I love every moment with my students! I have a real passion for sharing my knowledge and experience with others, both failures and successes. I believe everyone has creative potential, and I believe music is a real universal art form that anyone can tap i
nto if they want. Above all, making and creating music should also be fun!
*** Lesson Details *** I try to keep my lessons professional but comfortable too. I don't yell at students for messing up or anything like that. I usually have an agenda but am willing to adjust and compromise if the situation dictates. If you don't have a curriculum in mind, I like Alfred's piano courses, but will do my best to find one that fits you as a student best. My initial goals are to make sure the basics of reading music and performing are set so that no matter what musical avenue you want to pursue, you will be successful. I do specialize in classical music but enjoy creating and playing in other genres as well.
I now also offer lessons online, as well as tutoring in most math areas!
***CANCELLATION POLICY*** I kindly ask for 24 hour notice whenever possible if a lesson is going to be missed. Generally speaking, if I don't hear from a student and their lesson time passes I will mark the lesson as missed, but I am also usually more than willing to make up the lesson at a later time.
*** Studio Equipment *** I have a piano keyboard at my home.
*** Travel Equipment *** I would expect students to have their own instruments as needed, as well as music paper, pencils, etc. I may be able to provide some of those materials on occasion as well as some books/recordings, but will by and large expect students to purchase those for themselves.
*** Specialties *** I am much more familiar with classical styles and Broadway. My music writing style tends to be somewhere between neo-classical and avant-garde.
I have been teaching young people and adults how to play musical instruments for over 20 years. A lot of my students are well on their way to a rewarding future with music, some as professionals and others as hobbyists. In addition to being a teacher, I am also a professional performer who has worked in a wide variety of styles and I have a Masters degree in music composition and theory. One of my main specialties is working with very young students and total beginners. There is a special skill to teaching young children that can only be developed through experience. For the older student, o
r the student who already has a musical background my specialty is helping you learn the styles that have always been of most interest to you. I can also help older students gain a broad understanding of music through some basic music theory.
*** Lesson Details *** I can teach piano or keyboard to beginners and up to advanced students. On guitar and woodwinds I can teach beginners and up to intermediate level students. My teaching style is fairly relaxed and very positive, but I will try to keep the lessons on a course that is going to benefit you the most. For younger piano students and beginners I prefer the Alfreds piano system. The songs in the Alfreds books allow for immediate playing and note reading without any tedious memorization. The beginner books contain a lot of fun songs that kids really gravitate toward. For older students I try to gear the lessons toward whatever musical style you prefer. For students who have only had traditional piano lessons I can teach you how to read pop and jazz chord charts, as well as how to turn those chord charts into fully arranged music. I can also teach improvisation and the skills that are required to play specific styles of music in a professional band. For my younger guitar students I have a variety of beginner material I have collected over the years, but for my older students I prefer to work on songs of their choice. My beginner woodwind students will work with a Yamaha method book, while older students can learn improvisation and theory if they like. I also can lead Orff styled tuned percussion ensembles. The Orff style of music performance allows for students from entirely mis-matched musical backgrounds to play music together, even on their first day of class.
*** Studio Equipment *** Many keyboards, guitar, bass guitar, saxophone, flute, and four Orff tuned percussion instruments.
*** Travel Equipment *** I can provide multiple keyboards, a guitar, saxophone, flute and 4 Orff style tuned percussion instruments, as well as countless books and literature.
*** Specialties *** I play keyboards professionally in jazz, RnB, rock, reggae, Latin rock and other styles. I can help the student who has only had traditional lessons branch out and learn how to read chord charts, which in turn teaches them theory. I am a certified Orff teacher as well.

I recently decided to get back into piano after not having played since I was much younger and started adult lessons with John and I've had a great experience so far! We started from the beginning and we've made some good progress! He's personalized my lessons so we've been able to skip most of the children's songs and melodies. I'm excited to continue my lessons!

My 9 year old son came from School of Rock, which was organized chaos, to now where John has implemented a real strategy for him to learn faster and to focus on reading notes. My son has retained his interest and is excelling under John's guidance. I would highly recommend John for students of all ages.

I had the pleasure of seeing and hearing Jason's exquisite talent with the saxophone recently in a private concert. I was extremely impressed with his talent and I think anyone wishing to learn to play the sax or just improve your own talents would benefit from Jason's dedication and expertise.
I am a classical guitarist, holding a Master's degree in guitar performance from California State University: East Bay and a Bachelor's from the University of Idaho. I have taught and performed extensively throughout the Pacific Northwest and California, and am now teaching out of Memphis, Tennessee.
I have been teaching for almost ten years, and have taught everyone from ten-year-old beginners to middle-age hobbyists to high-level college-age classical performers. I am very comfortable working with all ages and skill levels.
