Kristy comes to our home once a week to teach two of my children piano. She has been nothing but punctual, patient and so kind! She not only teaches them how to play and perfect their pieces, but she teaches them the musical terminology as well. My 9 yr old son is not the most enthusiastic learner and Kristy goes above and beyond to make lessons fun (and did I mention how PATIENT she is?!). :) My 14 yr old daughter is very motivated and Kristy allowed her to choose a piece by the Piano Guys for her recital selection! I am amazed at how hard she is working to perfect such a difficult piece. Overall, I can say Kristy is the best instructor we have ever had. Across the board she gets all A's from us!

About Angela
Music has been a constant throughout my life. As a young child, I remember my mother singing or playing the piano. I knew, even as a youngster, that whatever was making her feel so happy and peaceful was something I wanted. I started lessons at age nine, and have been playing the piano or organ since then. I started teaching in 2000. Since then, it has become my passion. As my children have grown and married, being a grandmother has become another passion!

I count myself so very lucky to have this career that I am passionate about. My goal is to help others see if music can be a source of joy for them.

I am a professional pianist and have been playing for 32 years. I graduated from the University of Memphis with a Bachelor of Music in Piano Performance.

I believe that playing the piano should be a fun and enjoyable experience. I have experience in many styles of music including classical, music theatre, jazz, blues, rock n' roll, latin, and many other styles of music.

I have music directed and played shows mainly in Tennesee and Missouri but have performed in many other various states. I also spent time on the river on the American Queen Steamboat as co-music director and pianist.

I believe in a strong technique but also having the experience to play multiple styles of music. If you are an experienced player and am wanting to learn better sight reading skills or how to play from a piano conductor score, I have much experience in th
at. Or you might just want to be able to play popular songs with friends I can help with that as well.

Hope to be able to make great music together with you!

Ms. Killion was my daughter’s piano teacher for a little around a year. My daughter is very shy and reserved around people that she doesn’t know. Ms. Killion was able to help her come out of her shell and gain confidence in playing the piano. She was very flexible with her schedule and took the time to give my daughter constructive feedback. We truly miss having Ms. Killion as our instructor!

I was Killion's manager for several years at her previous teaching location in St. Charles, MO. It left a devastating hole in my student count when she left, as she brought in more business than any of my other teachers! She is a fantastic educator who takes on a range of students in terms of age, ability, and instrumentation. Children respond especially well to her methods, but she is also able to garner significant results from adults. Her lessons are flexible, fitting the needs of various learning styles. What I appreciated most about her technique was her patience and her emotional investment in her students. When she left my program, her students brought her gifts and handmade cards that were a true testament to her level of compassion and the excitement she inspires! I would recommend her to anyone looking to develop their skills. Thank you Killion for all that you do!

How Often Should You Tune a Piano?
Just as you go to the doctor for check-ups from time to time, your piano needs maintenance and care throughout its life. You may notice, especially if you have a keen ear or a tendency to sing along with your practice, that your piano drops in pitch, particularly during the summer and winter months. This is because your piano is mostly made of wood, and your wooden soundboard will contract when the weather is drier -- or the heating is on! -- and cause the pitch of the strings to drop. While k
