Great at explaining in a way where a child or some of us more chronologically advanced students can understand. This makes it exciting to learn.

About Kristen

Kristen is an accomplished cellist and music educator who has been teaching private lessons since 2009. She has helped her students develop technique, confidence in playing, note reading, orchestral and improvisational skills.

Kristen received her training at the Boston Conservatory, earning a Bachelor of Music in String Performance (2008) and a Masters of Music in Music Education (2010.) Her teaching style can be described as kind, patient, and knowledgable, with the ability to help push her students to new heights through finding their own musical voice through the instrument.

Kristen is also an experienced performing musician. She has toured nationally and internationally, and her cello playing with the band Gem Club can be heard on NPR's "All Songs Considered" and "Tiny Desk Concerts." You can hear her on the soundtrack to ABC'

s "Private Practice" and "Revenge", as well as NBC's "Parenthood".

About Shien Yuin

Hi there, I'm Shien Yuin (Naomi), a professional piano instructor passionate about guiding my students explore and enjoy what music can bring to their lives. Have been teaching piano for more than a decade now, and absolutely enjoy seeing my students picking up music playing and loving it!

Graduated with the Piano Performance and Pedagogy Degree from Bemidji State University, Minnesota, music teaching has always been at the core of my career.

Having taught in a public school as a music teacher in Singapore had given me the cutting-edge opportunity to work with students with different learning needs and personalities and developed skills necessary to guide each of them based on their learning abilities.

The philosophy of my music teaching is to help students discover the joy of music and to establish the mindset of lifelong lear

ning.

I've taught students of all ages. I personally handpick the materials for my students based on their personalities and learning needs.

Recently moved to Shoreline,WA and ready to take new students!

If you're serious about enriching your life or the life of your child, I’d love to get in touch with you! :)

My daughter is enjoying her beginner-level lessons with Miss Naomi very much. Miss Naomi is encouraging her to learn and play and develop her technique in class and at home during practice sessions. I was very pleased with my daughter's progress during our initial 5 lessons. We're planning to continue lessons with enthusiasm and appreciation for Miss Naomi's teaching skills and professionalism.

Naomi is great with kids. My daughter always had fun during the lessons. And, that is the most important thing for a 4-year-old. Naomi is goal-oriented, and she made sure that there is continuity between the lessons. Good teacher.

My son has been taking lessons from Cristina for 2 years and wow has he progressed. He loves his lessons, can read music, and is playing well. The struggle is getting him to practice! Cristina has a great blend of warmth, knowledge and discipline that works well for my 6,7, and now 8 year old son. I highly recommend her.

Our 8 year old had been taking violin for two years and was about to the point of quitting due to the lack of motivational teaching. I went in search of a teacher that could motivate her while still progressing rapidly each week! My daughter is so eager to please Cristina, because she makes the lessons fun and interesting. When I check in to see how the lesson is going, my daughter is engaged, and answering questions correctly which tells me she's still paying attention - even in the evening hours when she's tired. Cristina mixes classical and popular music as well. I still have to ask my daughter to practice each night but she pulls out her violin on her own a couple of times a week as well. It's a complete 180 from where we were 8 months ago. Cristina is a rare find and I'd recommend her to anyone who wants to ensure their child is getting the best violin training while being inspired!

Our 11 year old daughter, Drew, started with Cristina for a little over a year, and has made some amazing progress from not knowing how to play, to having great intonation and musicality. Cristina teaches our daughter in a way that works with her interests and learning style, rather than having a regimented curriculum. I think this has allowed Drew to be way more excited about playing.

i've been playing music all my life but since i'm a square parent, it's hard for me to teach drew :) Cristina does a great job giving her guidance during the lesson.
i would highly recommend her as a teacher!

About Christopher

Flexible teacher combining technical knowledge of classical, jazz, and pop/rock theory, sense of humor, and passion for helping students not just master their craft, but also find their unique voice and enjoyment with their instrument.

No single learning path works for all students, it’s about finding and reinforcing your strengths, and empowering you to solve your own problems. As my old cello teacher used to say, “I’m not teaching you how to play cello, I’m teaching you how to teach yourself how to play cello.” Providing students with the tools and guidance they need to practice and improve: that’s what I strive to do.

I have over 5 years of experience teaching lessons, including teaching seminars on songwriting and music business at Infinity Visual and Performing Arts and Jamestown Community College.

Between 2006 and 2015, I

played over 1,000 shows, both solo and as an auxiliary musician for other touring acts. I performed on over 30 albums and have composed for radio, television, and internet video series. I've been featured in The New York Times, on the CBS Evening News, and on NPR.

About Evren

I am a professional guitarist, composer and songwriter. I completed my education at Los Angeles Music College, and UCLA Film Scoring. I extended my studies with a 6 times Emmy award winner composer, and conductor for over 3 years privately in Hollywood, which provided me work for television, and independent films as a musician and a composer.

Music is my passion. I teach guitar students all different ages and levels. I worked professionally as a guitar and bass player for 2 decades, touring, and recording with artists all over the world. I have great and fun material for both guitar and bass guitar students which fits their levels perfectly. I also teach the Ukulele, and it has been one of the most fun experiences for me to connect with students working on Ukulele. I believe anyone can play the Uke.

Studying orchestration require me to

learn and improve my Piano skills whole a lot. I teach Piano now almost 10 years and have excellent books, and other material to learn the Piano in a fun way. I teach all ages, and specifically focus on beginner and intermediate levels since I also have taught Piano group classes last 5 years to same level students that are children and teenagers.

Since I have amazing opportunities to compose music for film and network TV shows, I got requests from students to teach them recording software, such as Pro Tools, Logic Pro X, and Garage Band as well as sample libraries. I can help you get better and faster on recording DAW.

I am open to work with anyone on any styles. Some of my favorites genres are: Classical, Jazz, Funk, Bossa Nova, Latin Jazz, Rock, Blues, Film Music and World Music. I look forward to meeting you, and be a part of your musical journey.

Mr. Evern is an excellent teacher: thoughtful and accommodating (to each child's temperament, abilities, interest and goals) which is most important to me as a parent. My kids are not "naturally" inclined to music and did not exhibit any "natural" talent, and they were skeptical about their ability to learn. But Mr. Evern was encouraging, funny, and fun - and this made all the difference. My children (each with his own very different traits) have taken acoustic guitar, uekelele, and piano with Mr. Evern, and they both love him. As a (non-music) teacher myself, I appreciate his pedagogical methods which take into account the context of each situation. As a parent, I appreciate his encouraging nature.

Evren is the best teacher ever. He taught me a lot on bass and he produced songs I wrote. He worked on these songs in ProTools and Logic and had a very strong command of these software platforms.

I learned a lot about bass from Evren, from jazz to funk and rock. He helped me improve my playing tremendously. I recommend him to everyone!

"Jeff is a great teacher who helps you learn the guitar step-by-step with lots of great tips!

I started to learn guitar from Jeff when I was in the 5th gr
ade and I have never regretted it. He has helped me improve so much that I can now solo off of songs and dissect popular songs to learn by myself. It's always so fun to play guitar with him, and he is always encouraging. He also teaches at my home which is really convenient. I always look forward to lessons to show him how I have improved. He is also really funny and entertaining. He has a lot of knowledge on guitar and music in general. Guitar has been a big part of my life and so has Jeff. I owe him all my thanks for teaching me how to enjoy and utilize the guitar beyond just learning chords and progressions."
