My goal as an instructor is to keep the lessons fresh, fun, interesting, and to ultimately guide the students to better teach themselves as they gain experience and familiarity with the instrument and music. Students can have their lessons catered to the music and styles they wish to pursue. Lessons are tailored to each individual student so that we can build upon their strengths and focus on lessons to improve weaker areas. Students will learn how to build dexterity, use proper technique, and be creative. Every student has different goals, some really want to learn theory and read music. Others may simply want to learn to strum a few chords. Whatever the goal, I can provide the instructions to help the student succeed!

I focus on the fundamentals (tone, technique and timing) using my own personalized approach to methods such as long tones, scales/ arpeggios and technical studies. I also allow students to be creative and express themselves through the art of music.

I was one of Jeremy's first students. My parents were forcing me to pick up music as a hobby and i was very hesitant because it seemed tedious to me. My mom then heard about Jeremy from her friend and asked if he was willing to teach me. He was very patient as i admit i was not the best student, but he stuck with me and now i am taking auditions to play for an orchestra as a principal flute player. I will always be grateful to him for getting me to love and enjoy music as i was against it in the beginning, I would recommend that everyone make him your teacher, he really is awesome! Love ya teach!

As a teacher myself, I find Jeremy-Paul's tutoring service is to recommended as he is very patient and understands the student's capability. As a new learner, he has really given me an excellent start. He makes his lessons interesting and demands a high level of expectations. He is very passionate about his craft and is very enthusiac about engaging his students.

"My daughter Kimona is 13 years old and before being introduced to the piano by Martina has never truly found something to be passionate about. I have seen my amazing young daughter flourish through notes of music and express her creativity through learning to play the piano. Initially as a mom I did not think at this age that my daughter would grasp the concepts and enjoy learning music however, through working with Martina weekly Kimona has flourished. I thank you Martina for opening our eyes that we all have the ability to learn and enjoy such a beautiful art."

"A great educator and learning enviroment

All two of daughters take violin lessons from Kelvin. He's been a wonderful addition to the community. He has a great level of patience and natural way of connecting with young children.
The girls also enjoy the community aspect of Kevin's program as well as the opportunity to perform the pieces of music that they work so hard on mastering.
They both made into Chicago youth symphony last year."

He provides just the right amount of positive reinforcement sprinkled with a little constructive criticism which helps motivate me to be a better student. He provides that subtle nudge for me to learn something new without me realizing it. Did I mention, He makes learning a new instrument FUN…."

"I've been taking lessons with Michael for over a year now, and it is definitely a highlight of my week! Michael was curious as to why I wanted to play the clarinet and has subsequently brought me books with Klezmer, Classical Duets, Jazz and Tango music. I had taken classical lessons for many years, but I can honestly say that I progressed so much more with Michael. He is fun to work with, and always finds the places where I have progressed. He is very skilled at finding new challenges to explore and does so in a most supportive way. Can't recommend him highly enough!"

"Kevin is a fantastic instructor!

I have been taking private lessons from Kevin for two years now as we'll as receiving instruction in Band for the last three years. Kevin not only is an incredible percussionist himself, but he has a knack for being able to convey ideas to students that they can understand. New and better approaches to teaching rhythm, personalized lesson planning to suit a student's needs, and a vast knowledge of music from years of professional experience are just a few things that Kevin brings to the table. If you're looking for a percussion instructor, I would highly recommend Kevin as your first choice!"
