Melody has done a wonderful job teaching my daughter who so confidently played 3 pieces and 1 duet piece with her. The recital was very organized and professionally done. I am continually impressed with her love, patience and dedication to her students. I would definitely refer her to anyone looking for a piano teacher.

Ms Melody is a great teacher. My five year old son enjoys his lesson and looks forward to coming weekly, not to mention the monthly play date Ms Melody offers to all her students which is really fun and helpful. From knowing nothing about piano to being confident at a recital in just five months is outstanding. Ms Melody is nice, patient, and has true love for her students.

About Brittiny
Brittiny is a classical and contemporary church pianist. She resides in Metro Detroit, Michigan. She is a very patient person who is dedicated to her students and focuses on accomplishing the needs and goals of her students. She likes to get to know her students interests and goals as well as their learning style in order to teach the most effectively. She has played the piano for ten years in church, for choirs and has worked as a piano teacher and vocal instructor. Her students have ranged from the ages of 5-60 years, all of which have gained a better knowledge and love for the piano. Brittiny's goal as a piano teacher is to help her students to love the piano and music as much as she does.

Brittiny graduated from the University of Michigan with a Bachelors in Psychology and a minor in music, concentrating in piano performance.
Brittiny was the pianist for the Peterson Warren Academy choir for three years. She was the piano player, choir director and music coordinator for the Univeristy of Michigan student groups; Adventist students for Christ and Campus Hope Ministries, until she graduated in 2009. She is presently playing for different churches and is the lead pianist and vocal coach for her musical group. She has been giving private piano instructions for the past year and cannot wait to continue.

I enjoy teaching and helping others learning about the piano. I am a patient, thorough and dedicated teacher. I will make sure that my student is able to achieve the personal and professional goals that we set together. My teaching style is very in depth, I teach classical, church, contemporary and gospel music genres. I can move at a fast pace or a slower pace, it mostly depends on the student. I feel that everyone has a different learning style and technique and it is best to work along those lines in order to attain the most promising outcome. I will create a very comprehensive lesson plan for the student incorporating their goals as well as my mine. I would expect my student to practice daily and be prepared to learn something new every lesson while also incorporating what they have learned thus far.

*** Travel Equipment ***
The student is expected to provide the instrument.

About Michael
I have many years experience as a working musician, combining: Private drum instruction, freelance studio work, and collaboration with musicians and bandmates in both a live and studio setting.

I have been a member of solid Metropolitan Detroit bands, most notably including: Friends of the Family, Night Train, and The Mobius Loop. I have been blessed with many great opportunities, most notably supporting national acts, such as: The Headhunters, Melvin Seals, Mofro and Strange Folk. And, I have recorded at excellent Metropolitan Detroit studios, including: Studio N Armada, Riff Lab Studios, Woodshed Studios and The Disc. Most recently, I participated in two separate studio/recording projects, with producer/multi-instrumentalist Joshua Michael Ackermann, and with producer/sound engineer Dan Lesnick. Along with teaching drum lessons, I
love to supplement my income with this type of studio work. I am also presently collaborating on original material, with a newly formed rock band, yet to be named. I am very excited about this and hope to get in the studio and to be gigging, in the near future!

I am looking to add dedicated students to my current roster. I took private instruction, studying under two EXCELLENT drummers from the Detroit Metro area: Darryl Pierce and Donny Gruendler. Mr. Pierce (among many other accomplishments) currently tours internationally and nationally with a well known artist by the name of Bettye LaVette. This group has made frequent television appearances, including: David Letterman and Austin City Limits. Mr. Gruendler, is currently the Vice President of Musicians Institute in Los Angeles, and he has been featured in several Modern Drummer publications.

I have learned a great deal through private instruction, and therefore teach from experience. I utilize and apply many of the techniques that I personally found useful; through my own private instruction. References from teachers, students, producers, and bandmates can be provided on request.

Mike is a great drummer! He helped me with basic rhythm and techniques to build my skills. One unique benefit is Mike offers students to practice at his studio (for a fee) before/after the lesson. This was super helpful to me since I don't have an acoustic drum set and practicing right afterwards kept the material fresh on my mind. He also explains music concepts very clearly, and answers my questions in depth! I would recommend him to all ages for drum lessons!

About Tom
I have been teaching guitar and piano for many years in the Metro Detroit area. I have also played professionally in many local nightclub and wedding bands as well as having toured with "Bob Seger" as his lead guitarist/writer/vocalist. I have done recording sessions for "Motown" as well as having studied under "Joe Messina", a legendary Motown guitarist with the original "Funk Brothers." I take great pleasure in mentoring, training and equipping students with the necessary musical skills to achieve at the personal and or professional level according to the specific student's interest, desire and goals. I tailor my teaching methods according to the student's ability and musical preference, and can teach most anything from classic rock, to pop, classical, oldies, jazz, etc. Many of my students have gone on to play at the professional leve
l, and one, in particular, has become a music professor at "Berklee School of Music". Another former student plays with the band: "Thirty Seconds To Mars." I have also been able to assist those students who have a desire to introduce vocals while playing their instrument. I am also able to provide personal assistance in songwriting when needed.

*** Lesson Details ***
I am very easy to get along with during lessons, however I can provide extra encouragement and motivation the student needs based on their specific goals for taking lessons, whether it be for personal enjoyment or for the purpose of making music their career. I believe that learning music can be fun even as a serious venture, and therefore I incorporate humor when appropriate. The curriculum I use includes: "Berklee, Mel Bay, and Hal Leonard" methods for guitar. For Piano I use "Schaum and Thompson" piano methods as well as Hannon for technique. Additionally, I invite students to suggest personal favorite songs of interest of their choosing as a motivational tool to aid them learning from the music that inspires them. I find this very helpful for students in developing a good ear as well as sparking motivation to practice as they learn from their favorite musical artists in addition to learning the fundamentals of the instrument.

*** Travel Equipment ***
I can provide music method books/sheet music etc. Students would need to own and bring their own instrument to lessons. I also provide guitar amplification.

*** Specialties ***
Berklee, Mel Bay, and Hal Leonard blues guitar method's. Schaum piano method. Hannon Technique. Pop, rock and jazz styles.

About Olivia
Welcome!

I am a Recruiter for a Digitial Advertising company during the day, newborn photographer on the weekends at Beaumont hospital, and a piano and violin instructor in the evenings.

I grew up in South Korea where I received most of my piano and violin instruction. I have maintained my piano and violin skills throughout the years by participating in my college orchestra, playing for events, and teaching kids in my community.

My teaching style is flexible, it all depends on the student's learning style and what they are most receptive to. I recommend parents to utilize piano/violin books that not include just performance, but theory and technique as well to build a solid foundation.

I am currently pursuinig my certification for the Suzuki method and very familiar with the Essential Elements book. I help many of my violin
players with their goals in their respective schools along with their own solo work.

If you have any questions, please feel free to reach out to me.

Thank you and I look forward to hearing from you!
