I teach students of all abilities to play and love the violin.

About Evan

I have over 25 years of experience in studying violin and have been teaching for 10 years. I studied violin through the collegiate level with accomplished professionals, including a former concertmaster of the NY Philharmonic. I work with students of all abilities, emphasizing both technical sk

Evan's a fantastic teacher and I can't recommend him enough. I was a professionally trained pianist who was also badly taught some violin on the side and although I've been out of practice for years, Evan has gotten me back up to speed with my musical abilities in such a short amount of time. I've cycled through a number of music instructors in the past and Evan is the most patient teacher I've ever had. I get easily frustrated and he helps me work through the areas I get stuck on regardless of how many tries it takes. It's very apparent through his teaching that appreciation of the music is a priority. He's also flexible about rescheduling and cancellations, and I've enjoyed my lessons so much that finding the personal motivation to stay on top of my progress is never an issue when something comes up and a class has to be cancelled or postponed. Evan is both a superb musician and instructor and given a lot of my bad experiences in the music sphere in the past, he's done an amazing job of helping restore my appreciation and love for the art.

Evan is a very gifted teacher. Since I started beginner lessons with him a few months ago, he has been able to teach me the complex techniques required for proper playing quickly and effectively while advancing my knowledge of music theory with his calm and encouraging teaching methods. I highly recommend him to anyone interested in lessons!
Eric
All-around wonderful violin teacher! Evan has always been encouraging (and patient!) and made every lesson an enjoyable experience. I've decided to pick up the violin after a very long hiatus and at almost 30 years old - Evan provided a great game plan for me to begin reading music again as well as valuable exercises to improve my form. I'm looking forward to keeping up my violin studies with Evan and know that I've enjoyed my time (and improved my playing ability!) because of his instruction and guidance. I'd highly recommend Evan to any player - young or old - looking to pick up violin for the first time or to further hone their musical abilities.

About Charles

Outside of teaching percussion and musical performances I have worked in special education for over 15 years. My life of music started knee high at the age of 4 playing drums and piano. At the age of 15 I gave my first musical performance, from that stage on I knew my talent had found a home.

My son’s first lesson went really well! Mr. Charles was really accommodating - as we were running late and he patiently waited and completed our full first session. My son is already looking to his next lesson.

Great lessons.

Our son has never played in a marching band before but is interested in playing in the marching band when he attends college in July so we were specifically looking for an instructor who had marching band experience to teach our son since he's never participated in the marching band in high school. We saw Mr. Stewart's profile and decided to have him work with our son. That was the BEST decision that we could have ever made. We have been nothing but impressed with Mr. Stewart. He definitely has the gift of teaching and he is very patient, knowledgeable, and he challenges our son to get better by giving him homework after each session. Our son absolutely LOVES Mr. Stewart and he is always excited for each lesson and to practice what Mr. Stewart has taught him. Our son went from not playing in the marching band at all in high school to making his college band and receiving a scholarship all thanks to Mr. Stewart. We are very grateful for his outstanding teaching and we would definitely recommend Mr. Stewart 100%.

Ron has been my piano instructor for the past three years. I find him to be very knowledgeable in jazz as well as classical music. He goes above the allotted time to ensure your understanding of instructions, and maintains a professional demeanor at all times, even with wit in his oral approach. I would not hesitate to recommend him for piano instruction at all levels!

Music theory is an essential tool that every musician should possess. Many people struggle to understand music theory and are often intimidated by it, but I am here to tell you that you shouldn't. Through many years of study I have developed my own approach to music theory that others have found much simpler and more enjoyable.

Liza is an amazing person inside and out. She has so much experience and versatility. She studies her students and makes sure that she's giving them all the techniques they need to improve. I've had many vocal coaches in my life and she is by far the most inspiring! She is funny, nice, and she always makes me feel comfortable, even when doing things that I might think are out of my range. She pulls the potential out of me.

I chose Eleonora as my 11-year-old daughter's harp instructor, and we've been really pleased and enriched by the experience. Early on, my daughter experienced an affinity for this instrument, and I've been very impressed by Eleonora's technique and teaching style and how she helps cultivate my daughter's organic joy and interest in this beautiful instrument. Eleonora is excellent with children, explaining music ideas in a way a child can understand, digest, and incorporate. She meets my daughter where ever is needed and has a great sense for this. When my daughter was learning something new, she told Eleonora, "This is hard." Eleonora responded casually and authoritatively: "There is no hard, only new." This, and the emphasis on practice, really eased my daughter who likes to get everything right the first time and needs this kind of reframing and encouragement when experiencing a new challenge. As an artist myself, I really appreciate this approach and philosophy, but most importantly, I can see my daughter does, too. Whether you're an adult learning for the first time or you have a child who has interest, let your musical lives be enriched by this patient, knowledgeable instructor.

I’ve been one of Eleonora’s first students and I’ve studied harp with her for 4 years. It has been very rewarding.
I was always looking forward to her lessons: she inspired us to practice for competitions and she always encouraged me to play in front of an audience, giving the very best of my self.
Playing the harp has always been a great joy for me thanks to her lessons.

She has been my daughter’s harp teacher for two years: she’s very talented! She’s a special person, she is very skilled both playing and teaching the harp.
She changed my daughter’s life, who know has an excellent knowledge of music basics.

"Mr. Gallo is phenominal! My son has learned so much in such a short time. He is patient, understanding, and very professional. He has a knack for adapting the lessons to suit the student’s needs, not the other way around, which is beyond helpful since my son battles with ADHD. His years and years of experience, along with the long list of sincere reviews posted by others, speak for itself. My hope is that my son will be first chair every year while in school, and I believe whole- heartedly that Mr. Gallo will get him there. Simply put, great teacher, and great methods. You absolutely, 100%, get what you pay for. The world needs more teachers like this. Happy student, and happy mom!! :)"
