I have been teaching Irish fiddle style for 15 years. I will usually start the student in either a basic fiddle book or Suzuki to learn how to do proper bowing, positioning and technique. The student will be able to read notes. If desired, I will also teach the more advanced about chord progression through the songs. I do know the appalachian style also but it is asked for less frequently.

About Chris

I have been teaching private violin for over 20 years, and private viola/cello for about 10. I have taught in Charles and St. Mary's County Public schools. I am a member of American Strings Teacher's Association, National Association for Music Educators (Maryland Music Educators Association), and t

Ms Chris was great my daughter really enjoyed her first lesson. Ms Chris was easy to work with and made my daughter comfortable that she felt free to ask questions and make mistakes without worry. My daughter is looking forward to the next lesson.

If you’re looking for a dedicated, knowledgeable and patient strings teacher, you will love Mrs. Heins. Both of my sons have been taking lessons from Mrs. Heins for several years (one for viola and one for cello). They have learned so much under her instruction, such as earning All-County and All-State honors. They also practice their live performance skills twice a year during informal musical concerts. Mrs. Heins also offers participation in the Royal Conservatory Music Development program, which can earn your child credit for college. She is a gem and should you choose her, you won’t be disappointed.

Songwriting is an art as well as a craft. In my lessons, I cover basic song structures in a variety of styles including blues, pop, rock, country, and jazz, lyrical content, melodic phrasing, and telling a story. Guitar is my preferred instrument for these lessons, so a background in basic guitar fundamentals is recommended, although some introductory guitar can be included with these lessons.

About Jordan

I received my education at the University of Wisconsin, majoring in Jazz Guitar. I've studied with some of the best guitarists in the Midwest, and have performed live and in recording studios all across the country in a variety of styles (Rock, Metal, Bluegrass, Jazz, Classical, Country). Jordan was very helpful right from the start. He listened to me on where I am at and where I want to be. He showed me a few things that we will work towards and then helped me understand my instrument much better. Gave me some fun new things to practice before the next lesson. If you're looking for a lesson that is interactive and fun I recommend Jordan and the online thing is supper easy and handy. I don't think it could have gone any better. The lesson was 45 minutes and it felt like 10.

Jordan is excellent & very patient.

Jordan is a fantastic teacher! He expertly and patiently guided my young son from essentially 0 to reading notes and playing them on the guitar in about half an hour. He is clearly an experienced musician who loves to teach. We are looking forward to the next lesson.

"I took classes with Christiaan for about a year and a half. He is a really experienced singer, and his lessons were amazing!
We worked together for a grad school audition for vocal performance. I would not have got the offer without Christiaan. He was super helpful, patient, and really helped me become a better singer/performer! Definitely recommend his lessons!"

"I have had a life long love of singing, but always felt that I could be better. I was a little nervous taking my first lesson, but Amber made me feel right at ease. In the few months I have taken lessons with her, my voice improved so much I still can't believe it. Amber has so much life experience that she knows all the tricks to get you to where you want to go.
When I started these lessons, my goal was just to feel better about my voice. Now I find myself thinking that I could perform, and I owe it all to Amber!"

"As a middle aged man trying to learn an instrument, it was a daunting task to find a teacher that would work with me to learn the basics of guitar without laughing at my inability to actually play the darn thing.

Adam has been a great teacher and exactly the sort of professional and understanding person I was looking for. While I don't think my mediocre (getting better every week) guitar skills are the best testament to Adam's ability as a teacher, I think the fact that he has encouraged me to stick with it and turn a crazy idea into a legitimate hobby is."
