Learning to play your instrument at the highest level will make it easier for anyone to play any kind of music they may like. Don't waste time learning to play tunes on sax, but spend time learning to play sax on any tunes. Seems like a smarter way to go to me. I'm all about learning to play as fast and efficiently as possible. However practice and playing time is a must.

Takes the same amount of time to learn to play sax now as it did 175 years ago!

About Kevin

35 yrs of teaching sax and clarinet students Many of my students have participated in Honor Band and All State Band events year after year. I am very comfortable with total beginners, advancing players, and aspiring pros. I currently have students from 9 to 80+ I tailor student lessons to the need

Very good experience on our first lesson. Brendon worked with our 7-year-old son and was patient with the online setup. He did make us aware that having online lessons with someone that young presents a bigger challenge but with our help, we are going to make it work (my wife and I are musically-trained).

I have only been working with Liza for 3 months, and in those three months I have grown so much. My acting comes out in my songs, and I feel ready for all the auditions I have coming up. She really digs into what character I’m trying to portray. Our lessons are always a safe environment and she is always very supportive and encouraging. Overall, Liza has not only helped me ready for my auditions but she’s taught me to have when I perform.
Naoko
She was the best instructor ever! I already had an experience as a vocal in a band, but through her voice training I actually was able to extend my voice range. Also as a non-native English speaker, I found it very helpful when she guided me with more accurate English pronunciation of the lyrics.
Yasmina
Liza is a wonderful voice teacher! She is always open to exploring her students' interests and is very encouraging. She is incredibly enthusiastic and is an absolute sweetheart. I would definitely recommend working with her!

"David is not only a delightful person, he's also an excellent piano teacher. I'm a piano teacher myself yet I needed some help with improvisation--my weakest link. He patiently walked me through adding chords and harmony to a melody. I learned a lot of new ideas, such as leaving out the emotive third interval...that's better utilized in the right hand. He demonstrated how to take a familiar classical piece, namely Mozart's Rondo Alla Turca, and play it completely by ear. His musicianship is lovely and he is patient and thorough in his explanations. His knowledge of music theory is complete and sound. I highly recommend him to anyone looking to start or continue music lessons. He is truly passionate about music and his profession."

"I just finished my first lesson with Marty today. I was nervous and excited before the lesson but Marty was very welcoming, warm and friendly. She is very passionate about music and singing and during the lesson I could feel she was invested in my success. In the first lesson I already felt equipped to begin learning and practicing things to help me on my journey toward my goals. She also communicated a great commitment to my goals which was a major point for me. Her knowledge of music added to my excitement because I enjoy learning and Marty was more than happy to educate me, even on more complex topics. I am glad that Marty will be part of my journey to improving my musical skills and consequently, my life."

"Very understanding instructor. My daughter (age 12) is moving along at a nice comfortable rate with dramatic improvements already taking shape! I can recommend Ardalan highly for beginners although, from the fragments that I've heard of Ardalan's own playing, I suspect he's equally effective for advanced students."

"I booked my first 3 shows!

I started my vocal journey with Stephen just about two years ago, from scratch. Under his professional guidance, I have already landed my first 3 regional theater shows, AND my first major role of Val in "A Chorus Line"! Stephen's lessons are always fun, efficient, and he has a keen sense on how to best help me in my professional growth. As a dancer who sings, I look forward to seeing what lies ahead in my vocal training and career!"

"Having studied under Taj for the past year I have found a significant improvement in the size and strength of my voice. He focuses on the essentials of the voice and is great at figuring out how my voice works best and he then creates exercises tailored specifically to me. I never feel vocally tired after lessons because he properly warms me up and keeps me from pushing my voice.

He is also an incredible coach in languages. His strongest are German and French, but his Italian is not far behind.

I feel like I can bring any style of music to Taj and he has the knowledge and musicality to coach me on it. I am focused in opera, but I love to sing Broadway as well. Many of our lessons start with opera repertoire, but then if we have time at the end we break out the musical rep."
