I am very student focused and driven. I want to help my student realize their full potential with playing drums.
I can introduce my student to a basic understanding of music theory and hard rock/metal drumming is my main focus - however I am versed in other music genres as well, to give my student the most options to work with.
Relaxed, fun, and detail oriented are all words I would use to describe myself.
So, if you are looking for a drum teacher that can cover: rudiments, stick control, basic tempo/time understanding, metronome familiarity, tuning of a kit, drum maintenance, and much more, look no further!
I understand that learning something new can be very daunting. I know that in particular, because I am still new to teaching! We can both learn together. I want to make it my goal, to help you be a better musician, performer, and most obviously: a better drummer. I care deeply about making sure my

In a fun and easy going atmosphere, I will introduce to the beginners the
Conga drum, how to play correctly and effortlessly all 7 “official” sounds on the Conga. Every class will consist on a routine of proper technique review and warming up exercises, followed by learning basic patterns.
The first couple of lessons will be always geared towards the beginner student. As the student grasped old concepts, then we will move at a faster pace to attend the needs of the intermediate level students.
I received my B.S. & Music Degree with concentration in instrumentalists from Morgan State University. I have been playing since the age of three years old and have been teaching since 2004. In 2016, I was accepted as a member of the National Association of Music Merchants (NAMM). I am very well

It is my goal to help students develop the ability to sing freely with the various sound colors they wish. I focus on releasing tension, finding the source of sound and energy, and discovering how one can use their entire voice with flexibility and freedom. I strive to help students sing and interpret music they love, through growing in technique and vocal confidence. Our voice is our direct expression of the world!
I love many music styles, but I am most knowledgeable of Jazz, Soul, R&B, Folk, Pop, and eras of the past.
Some of my teachers, such as Jamie Leonhart, LaTanya Hall, and Nick Hakim, as well as my time earning my BFA at the New School, have helped me to understand the importance of an intuitive, supportive, and constructive teacher. These qualities are important to me. In lessons, I work to develop a safe space for students to explore their voice and personal expression.

I can teach you 4 or 5 very effective and versatile strums and how you can utilize them to play the songs in any style you'd like to play. Depending on what you'd like to learn and whether or not you'd like learn to read music, we can work with or without an instruction book/accompanying CD (I have carefully chosen one I feel is practical, fun and user-friendly). Or I can just work out songs for you to play, show you the chords and give you suggestions on how to put it all together. I also offer instruction on how to go about writing songs on the ukulele.
Jeff is a seasoned instructor in guitar, songwriting, music performance and music business. He also offers lessons in public speaking, voice-over performance and ukulele. He welcomes students of all ages and experience and has successfully and happily taught beginners to pro-level musicians and r

I like to call it music theory in reverse. Having a strong foundation in the fundamentals of music and music theory makes the songwriting process much easier.

I will continue playing mandolin, and want to also learn violin, piano and guitar. I can even play "Mean" on the 12 string guitar now in open tunings!!"
I took lessons with Marc over the summer, and it could not have been a better experience. On top of being an amazing teacher (for someone with no prior skill), he was also very considerate, made the lessons extremely enjoyable, and was really flexible anytime I needed to change plans. I would definitely recommend him to anyone, especially if you are just starting out!!"
