I've been teaching sitar for 5 years and my students have gone on to develop a love for Indian classical music and culture. Within the first few lessons, you'll be properly holding the sitar and playing notes and phrases. Then, we take particular ragas and begin layering in raga and tala theory and more advanced techniques. My greatest joy is taking a student who started with no musical experience and getting them to the point of successfully performing on stage with tabla accompaniment.

I have always loved the sound of the sitar but did not think it would be practical to play it. Mat proved me wrong put me at ease by opening the door to this wonderful instrument, and he has made it not so daunting. It is a pleasure to learn from him, and I am really enjoying the fun challenges of the sitar.

I’ve been delighted with my lessons with Semyon from day one. I had studied classical piano as a child but took a hiatus of several decades, and was somewhat nervous about starting up again. Semyon has put me at ease, and is so enthusiastic and encouraging, it’s contagious. He also has a focus on technique that I was looking for (scales and Hanon so far, which I know I need!). He knows his stuff but doesn’t overwhelm me with too much too soon. As an adult student, I couldn’t be more pleased with my choice and highly recommend him.
Patricia
As a retiree who has recently returned to piano after a decades-long hiatus, I knew I’d need a teacher with experience teaching adults. Semyon is proving to be excellent. He is a skilled musician and teacher whose approach combines enjoyable piano pieces, exercises for agility and the fundamentals of scales and theory. He is patient and responsive to what I want to accomplish. I have learned in each lesson, seen improvement each week, and enjoy the diversity of assignments. In short, i’m having a grand time and highly recommend him.

I've had to record my own band's albums for years, and have recorded a lot of local bands as well. Mixing and producing has become a huge passion of mine since the first time I learned what a compressor could do. Letting the music shine through while maintaining clarity and punch is an art that I love teaching.

About ryan

Hi, my name is Ryan and I would love to teach you how to play guitar. I've been playing for over 10 years and have been gigging for a little less than that in my band. Over the years I have gained a lot of experience performing on stage and teaching to people of all ages. If you want to shred, jam,

Ryan was great! He's obviously a talented guitarist and he is very laid back and makes you feel comfortable. He shows you in detail what you need to do to become a better guitar player. My ONLY advice, and the reason he doesn't get 5 stars, is I think he should have more visual aids with his lessons. For example, write down the different scales or transcribe the first several measures of a song. Then, one has something to refer back to when you are practicing and invariably get stuck. Other than that, I would highly recommend Ryan as a guitar teacher!

Exactly what you want in an instructor: knowledgeable, patient, and supportive!
Travis
As an adult learner who plays multiple instruments, I’ve had every type of teacher you can imagine. It’s always a struggle to find a teacher able to work with the unique requirements of being an adult with adult obligations and time constraints.

Tom, as it turns out, is that rare teacher able to not just handle these unique requirements, but is also fantastic at finding and focusing on knowledge gaps, whether it be playing, theory, tone, or anything else I throw at him.

Prior to taking lessons with Tom, I had barely held a trumpet, and I’m progressing at a rate far faster than I had imagined I would.

So don’t bother looking elsewhere, Tom is who you need!

Mr. Steven is an excellent teacher, and really engages my son each week. He is new to piano, and has helped my son progress very quickly with reading notes, tempo, and so much more. Mr. Steven makes every lesson rewarding. I recommend him!

An excellent, intuitive teacher

Mr. Steve is an outstanding teacher whom I would recommend without reservation. He works at the pace of each of my children and they are eager to work for him too. My son bores quickly, but Steve challenges him with encouragement and speed. My daughter is slower to catch on and he accommodates her speed with equal talent. He is creative in his teaching methods and also in his approach to advising more practice or encouraging practice methods. I hesitate to write this review because I don't want to share the gem we have found in Steve. He is kind, patient, encouraging, excited about the music and the kid's efforts, witty, professional and accommodating. 5 stars.

"Wonderful Piano Teacher!

Ms. Miller is a caring and friendly piano teacher. Unlike my piano teachers in the past who were very strict, my daughter is very lucky to be under the tutelage of Ms. Miller. She's well experienced in teaching children, though I'm not sure if she has adult students. In addition, she has a cute, little assistant with her who welcomes all her students when they come in for their lessons."

"Best Instructor Ever. Although, by default, because in truth he's the only instructor I've ever had. Took the leap to get some training in an effort to dazzle my fiance at our wedding coming up this summer. Was I apprehensive? Sure! Was I skeptical? Absolutely! Was I intimidated? Perhaps. Were any of these fears justified?? Not at all!!! Christiaan has been warm, welcoming, and most importantly a great coach. I have felt that I've improved quite a bit considering I've only had two lessons so far. I can only imagine the results after all five. I might even opt for five more. That being said, he certainly will NOT disappoint. Anyone who has a passion for vocal art or motivated to up their level, I highly recommend you put the excuses aside, and hit this dude up. He knows what he's doing, and his accomplishments speak for themselves."

"Started with Jim Back in Feb 2015...Im in my 50's and didn't have a clue, my girl gave me a guitar for Christmas and new it was on my bucket list to learn, and learn I did with Jim. Patience and clear, no pressure lessons are what I got. All I wanted to do is sit in my yard and play something that sounded like something, lol.... I am slowly getting better and better as long as I keep to my practice and Jim is always there to help even when I am not in class so to speak. He answers you phone calls and texts if u have questions or forgot something, even sends videos if u need it... Glad I got on board with this guy and I am hoping for more and more enjoyment from my instrument...Give him a shot, I did and pretty sure you wont be disappointed"

"I took guitar classes from Greg for about 8 years, bass lessons for about a year, and drum lessons for about a year, and eventually worked with him as an instructor as well; I'll let you know that you will be very hard-pressed to find a better teacher than Greg - he takes the time to really delve deep into all your lessons and give you the best experience, as well as wonderful material to work with, in order to help you fully reach your potential as a musician. On top of that, he really gets to know you and caters to your style of learning, and helps you recognize your strengths and weaknesses, overall making your learning experience the most fruitful it can be. Besides, he makes the learning fun! I highly recommend and respect Greg as a musician and an instructor."
