Hi! I am currently study at Peabody of JHU. I love music, photography and cooking. I have 6 years violin teaching experience, age from 6 to 56. They are all become my friends now.
I was always trying to combine what I have studied and what I am gonna teaching in these years. I think teaching is not only teaching, but also a process of making yourself learn. Teaching also makes an artist more professional. Also, I speak both English and Mandarin (Chinese).

What I enjoy most about the piano is=

The opportunity to show my students what sounds and ideas they can create from the piano; sounds that are uniquely their own; sounds that have meaning and purpose and are full of their own emotions. That is the most rewarding part of teaching.

Also= As a musician who takes great care of his body with a wide range of physical activities and has studied the human body thoroughly, I'm very adamant that piano playing requires tremendous physical dexterity and bodily control, not just knowledge of the music alone.

Point= My overall approach to piano lessons simply put is: How do we form the closest bond between "Us" and the "Instrument"?

So how do we achieve this.

I do this by training the student's hands & body to move in the way they were designed by nature to move.

I fully understand music theory, chords, scales, and rhythm and I will teach you everything I know about them. Point= So does every cookie-cutter piano teacher.

Returning to drums after several years, I found that the "Drum Control" book Perry created and wrote really cleaned up my technique and got me going again with the essential tools I needed. I can't believe how easy it was with this great book. The combination of his teaching and book got me rockin' in no time! Perry is a real pro and knows what he's doing. I am learning from the best! "Great first session

Gabriel was great! The introduction session was the best we have ever had, not our 1st time at this. I was impressed w/ how he coved the basics experience, warm ups, ability to carry a note & what her/our goal was. Also, I was very impressed by his concern for my daughter to discover her own abilities / capabilities. He was genuine & told us what is necessary to improve to a higher level, not always easy, but he is very experienced & she is excited to be his student!
In a word - Gabriel is SUPER!"

"James, besides the lessons, gives me helpful information on improving my singing, and also information on my other interests including guitar, harmonica, songwriting and comedy. As an added bonus, he gives me useful information on nutrition, writing, and other topics of information. Also many ideas on how to practice and words of encouragement. A great teacher. Definitely several points above average."

"Ilona is one of the best teachers I had so far. I have fun with her learning cello.

I learned a lot with her and enjoy playing with her duets on the violin. Because of her I got into Gold Cost Youth Orchestra where I met one of her violin students Sharri. She encouraged me to stay focused on my playing and to perform chamber music with her. Very well organized teacher, I will recommend her for any age."

"Eric J is really helping me improve my voice. I’m singing songs I never ever imagined I would be able to sing in such a short time. Thanks so much for sharing your knowledge of the voice with us. He doesn’t limit you. He teaches you that you can sing whatever you love if you practice everyday and put the work in. I’ve seen a huge difference in my voice over the few months I’ve been regularly taking his classes."

How to Find the "Sweet Spot" On Your Violin

The violin can be a difficult instrument to master. Intonation is often challenging; unlike the guitar, there are no frets to guide the fingers, and even if all the notes are correct and in tune you're still left with the issue of tone. The purest and perfectly in-tune notes can still sound bad if they're played with poor tone. However, there are many methods and tricks to help your violin bowing, which can instantly improve your tone. 5 Points to Consider for Violin Bowing 1. Pre …
