About Thomas
Tom has a music degree focused in guitar performance and a combined professional teaching and performance career that spans over twenty years.

Tom began teaching in 1994 and still practices today instructing students of all ages on guitar and bass techniques, as well as music theory.

Tom is very laid back and embraces working at the pace that each of his students feels most comfortable. Lessons are about the student’s ambitions. If it is learning their favorite songs or a deep dive into music theory, jazz improvisation or songwriting it can be covered in strides that seem fit to the st
udent. Books can be used for guidance and a custom lesson plan created that will fit specific criteria desired to be achieved by the student. Remember, practice makes perfect. The more you put in, the more you will get out of it!!

Offering beginner plectrum guitar lessons for children - tailored to the age, experience, and musical interests of each student. I have played guitar for ten years and mandolin for nineteen years, studying with master musician Lou Martin. My teaching approach includes a combination of guitar playing basics: explanation of the structure of the instrument, note reading, emphasis on correct technique for both hands, and exercises and songs adapted to the individual young player. I am excited to help students learn this wonderful instrument.

About Bob
Take Guitar or Bass Guitar lessons from an experienced teacher and Hartt College graduate. In person one on one private lessons or webcam lessons if that is more convenient. Your lessons will be customized for what you want to learn. Rock, Blues, Folk, Country, Classical, Music Theory, chord playing, lead guitar, music reading, songwriting etc. Lessons can be as easy or challenging as you like depending on your goals. If you are new to guitar or bass guitar, if you tried playing guitar before and it didn't work out, or if you have been away for awhile, I'll do my best to make it a rewarding ex
perience. If you have been playing for many years but feel stuck in a rut, I can get you out of it and teach you things you have wanted to learn. Great teaching environment. I also have free supplementary lesson videos available here (at takelessons) and on my website.

I've enjoyed my bass guitar lessons with Bob, and look forward to learning even more from him. I had some music background from my teens, and Bob adapted his lessons to fit my experience. His studio is a great environment and the location is perfect for me.
