David discovered his love for music early on at the age of seven with the musical/movie: The Sound of Music. He and his siblings would entertain their babysitter by acting out the entire musical - singing and dancing along with the soundtrack. To make it even more fun, they would sometimes speed up the vinyl record and perform in extra-fast mode!
He vividly remembers his first real musical instruction back in elementary school: “Everyone in 4th Grade was given a Recorder to learn how to play 'Twinkle, Twinkle Little Star'. When the music teacher had the class play together, she noticed that I wasn't looking down at my music booklet as I played, since I was 'playing by ear'. Not only was my booklet turned to the wrong page; it was upside down as well! To admonish me, she had me stand up in front of the whole class and play
solo - as she held the booklet in front of me. Enthusiastically, I rendered the complete song correctly, only pretending to read from the page as she held it, but actually 'playing by ear'. Upon getting to the end of the tune, I suddenly broke out in a jazzed-up, improvised version of 'Twinkle, Twinkle Little Star', arousing the whole class to spontaneously tap their feet in rhythm and clap with delight . . . my first solo performance!”
David eventually took up guitar in his teens, becoming involved with playing for musicals such as "Godspell" and "Jesus Christ Superstar". During high school, he also played in the Bluegrass band 'Odell & Zeke', and in the Rock band 'Ring Wraith', performing for local dances and proms.
Extremely versatile within classical and popular guitar styles, David played in the Top-40-Hit music video, Shine Shine, by The Bee Gees' Barry Gibb – alongside pop-star legend - Michael Jackson. David is also mentioned in Just Jazz Guitar Magazine for his jazz endeavors; and he has years of experience as a church music director.
As a Classical concert guitarist, David has performed throughout the USA and Europe. His live performances have been broadcast on television and radio: NPR’s Performance Today (USA); CBC’s Arts National (Canada); RAI Television’s In Concerto (Italy), and the Hungarian National Television. Successful in competitions, David won First Prize in the 20th International Guitar Competition in Milan, Italy and First Prize in the National Wurlitzer Artist Competition, USA. He has received other awards and grants as well, including a Solo Recitalist Grant from the National Endowment for the Arts, and the Governor's Award from Department of State, Florida. Moreover, he was chosen for the rosters of both the California State Touring Program and the North Carolina Visiting Artists Program.
David’s 35 years of teaching and performing experience, coupled with intensive years of formal studies with many of the world's greatest guitarists, including Andres Segovia, Eliot Fisk, David Russell, Christopher Parkening, Holzman, Ghiglia, Morgen, Tomas, Isbin - have afforded him a rich and in-depth understanding of music and the guitar. He shares all of this with his students in an insightful and uniquely original manner.

David is the rare combination of a true artist who wants to help others discover their own musical voice. He is always able to find a solution to my technical problems, with the goal of helping me play more musically. He takes me seriously as a student, challenging and encouraging me with understanding, patience and kindness.

David was very knowledgeable about music and made it easy to understand. This was especially important to me since I am starting new, not having any musical background other than a love for music and a passion to play. This instructor helped me realize I have potential which is also important. After just one lesson I was able to take what he taught me and put some of his advice together musically and it is starting to make sense. I am looking forward to my future lessons!
I hold a Masters Degree in Music from George Mason University.
A native of the Washington DC Metropolitan area, I have performed with the Washington Opera Company, at the Kennedy Center, and Historic Maryland's Adventure Theatre. I have been a vocal teacher in Brooklyn, New York, in addition to coaching students privately. Previously, I taught at the Virginia Institute of the Performing Arts, was Musical Director for The Episcopal Diocese of Virginia's Music and Drama Camp and The Snow Camp Historical Drama Society. I have also taught in Prince William County and Stafford County Virginia Schools and served as a judge for the VTA Middle School One-Act play Competition, VCDA District IX Choral Festi

Proud Member of Actors Equity Association, SAG-AFTRA, and the National Association of Teachers of Singers.
*** Lesson Details *** Not only am I a trained singer, I am also an actor. I understand what it is to communicate and show emotion while singing. Before you can do this, you must also learn healthy singing technique. I will help blend the two.
The first half of each lesson will be dedicated to vocal exercises with the second half to songs I recommend or from your own repertoire. My recommendations may be from a different style of music than you are accustomed to, but I will be working towards helping you sing the style you want to sing.
Every voice is different. As a teacher I want to make sure that my students understand and are comfortable with what they are feeling and hearing. While I am an easy going person, I work very hard to help students find the right path to healthy vocal production.
*** Travel Equipment *** n/a student must have piano in home for use by the teacher
*** Specialties *** Musical Theatre
***please note: I have 3 cats. They do not come into the studio, but if you have allergies, this is possibly a problem.
Very personable and unintimidating to a beginner. Easy to follow her teaching.

Phyllis is the best singing teacher I have ever had. She is completely knowledgeable about technique and personalizes each class for her students. Phyllis is so sweet, and believes that there is a singing voice inside of all of us. Since I have started taking lessons with her, my range has expanded and not only that, I have gained new knowledge about sheet music that I had never heard before. I would highly recommend choosing her as your teacher.
I am dedicated to helping you feel comfortable singing, performing and even auditioning. I teach you how to free up your voice and how to apply the tools that give you the confidence to sing what you want. Also check me out on FaceBook at fb.me/MelissaJamesStudio
*** Lesson Details *** I do have cats at my home studio- be aware if you are concerned with allergies!
My first priority is making the student feel comfortable, we will move only as fast as the student wants to move.
We will start by setting some goals- what the student is hoping to get out of voice lessons. I will keep your goals in mind when teaching.
Learning how to sing can be a slow process. Expect 3-6 months of studying to notice large improvements-however, the more consistently you practice, the more consistent your progress.
Students will be asked to fin
d or purchase their own music (average of $10-$30).

The teacher was wonderful. But the platforms connection was poor. Really enjoyed the lesson.
If you are fascinated about guitar technique and awesome weird sounds that you can do with your guitar, you will like having lessons with me.
I began as a classical guitar player, studying traditional classical pieces and applying them to my guitar. During that time I began to explore and became drawn to rock music, virtuoso guitarists, and heavy metal. My fascination with the electric guitar, the techniques, the speed and all the things that comes with it are still pulling me in.
Later on in life I fell in love with Flamenco, specifically Paco De Lucia. I learned his songs and combined it with my own music while studying fusion and finger picking styles; every style I liked, I learned, I mastered, but I know, as much as I teach, I also learn.
Today I play in LA and Israel, I produce projects, record guitar tracks and songs, and teac
h at my studio or online.
As a teacher I will challenge you! I will give you multiple exercises and lots of homework. Over the years, my students have won guitar contests, gotten into successful bands, and are touring around the world. If you are willing to work hard, you will get better! You will see, hear, and feel the difference in your playing. I'll show you the way and will be with you step by step.
This guy is much more than a guitar teacher :)
Probably the best there is.

I know Shai for many years and he is an amazing friend and incredibly dedicated musician! If you want to work hard at guitar, or musicin general, get those chops and timing going, flamenco, whatever it is, Shai is the man!!
As a professional musician, my greatest desire is and always has been to teach others to love music.
Music has always been an important part of my life. I have been playing violin since I was 6 years old and singing for as long as I can remember. I knew in elementary school that I wanted to “grow up” to be a violin teacher, and so everything I did was to pursue my dream of opening a music studio - from performing in Youth Symphonies, Musical pit orchestras, college orchestras & community orchestras to singing in choirs and touring Europe with the Madrigalians (an elite singing group where we sang in some of the most beloved cathedrals in Europe such as Notre Dame Cathedral and Sacre Coure). I graduated from Trevecca Nazarene University in Nashville, TN with a B.S. Degree in Music Performance on Violin & Voice.
At my physical stu
dio I cater to the musical needs of children as young as 3 and adults as old as 90. I am acutely aware of my students’ unique personalities and their individual needs, and will develop a finely tuned plan to enrich and educate so that each student can reach their highest potential! I enthusiastically welcome parental involvement as I believe it is vital to students’ musical growth. Music is my passion and it would be my honor to share that passion with you and your family.
Never took vocal training before and I learned so much .......... Angel is great !

Our daughter started taking violin lessons in first grade and vocal lessons in third grade with Angel and we are amazed at her musical growth and development! Angel is patient and encouraging which brings out the best in our child. She has learned the technical aspects of violin and voice and has developed her ability to perform her talent in front of others. Angel's love and appreciation of music is contagious! Mifflinburg is very fortunate to have a musician with her talent teach the children and adults in our area!

My name is Christina Bell and I have loved singing and music in general all of my life. I have traveled the world singing with and along side of some of your favorite gospel artists, such as Donnie McClurkin, Fred Hammond, Yolanda Adams, Kirk Franklin and so many more. I began vocal training in 2012 because i noticed a strong need for it in my hometown and also across the nation. I love tones, execution, rhythms, texture and how vocals can blend. I love training my students to broaden their vocal ability.
Christina is one of the best to ever do it. Christina is educated, passionate, and fun!

Christina REALLY pushes you to believe in yourself and your talent! I’m not that confident in my singing, but working with her helped boost my confidence in not just singing but singing in front of others. I’d recommend anyone trying to better their craft to connect with her!

Christina takes great concern with her students to 1st make them feel comfortable, and then she support her students with encouragement. I am proud to say that she has helped me tremendously with her teaching.

My 9 yr old daughter loves her singing lessons with Dena! She loves to sing so much, I thought it would be a good idea to have he
