I love working with people of any age and any level-- when a student is excited about music, it makes me unbelievably happy. I've researched many different teaching materials and methods and after many years of teaching, I've figured out some of the best ways to help students have fun while learning.

I have been playing most of my life. I started playing professionally at 17, playing with a number of professional bands playing all over Michigan. I have been teaching drum students since the age of 19, teaching well over 500 students to date.
Teaching students has been one of my passions with music. I hope to motivate my students to learn to play and love the drums as much as I do.
I work with each student on an individual basis to help them learn and understand drumming technique using books and techniques that will help to develop instinctive skills and ear technique.
I work with snare drum / rudimental technique with all my students and drum set technique, as most students want to learn how to play a drum set. Many of my students are in school band learning snare drum and percussion technique. Basic snare drum technique is important for any student to master and understand to learn to apply to snare drum and drum set technique.

Basic piano technique, music theory, and beginner songs taught in a low stakes, low pressure environment. Perfect for young kids and those brand new to piano. Will use the Bastien piano books (distributed via pdf at not additional cost) and some solo songs, but open to continuing in a book you already own. I believe that encouragement is the best tool!

I have been playing piano as a secondary instrument for 15 years, and I love sharing my knowledge with others. Music is a passion and a learned talent that requires repetition and patience. I can help guide you toward whatever your music goals are, whether you want to play professionally, in a band, or just at home in your spare time.
In just a few lessons you will learn the basic keys on the piano and correct finger positions. As we go on you will be able to play scales and chords. Finally you will learn how to read music and play all of your favorite songs. I start with the legendary John Thompson's Modern Course for the Piano, Alfred's Piano Book, and A Dozen a Day Piano Book for kids. I teach classical, jazz, blues, and other styles of music. Both kids and adults are welcome. Take that next step in becoming a better pianist, and let's have some fun!

I had been taking lessons from another flute teacher since 2011 and knew it was time to change. Stephanie has always been able to help me. She is very knowledgeable about all questions and problems I was having on playing the flute or reading music. When questioning a technique she is able to demonstrate it or explain it in a different way so I could understand it. I’ve always had trouble with the high notes and alternate fingering and she definitely has helped me on those. Stephanie personally is a lot more enjoyable than my last teacher. She always seems happy to see me.
I also play Low Flutes and just bought my first Bass Flute. She also plays low flutes.
