I believe music lessons should be a blast or they shouldn't be at all. I love teaching kids of all ages (adults too!) and jamming out to their favorite songs. Of course there's so much to learn, but there's a way of pacing out the material so they can have fun while learning the theory and technique.
My teaching methods include all the basic elements (technique, theory, ear training, performance, etc.) but my approach is more based on the needs of each student.
* Lesson Details * I meet each student in the way they need to be met: if they need a serious approach, I meet them with the same intensity (and raise them a few!). Most students seem to prefer a laid back, more "fun" approach, which I am excellent at providing as well.
* Travel Equipment * We can make arrangements if the student doesn't own the instrument
* Specialties * Piano - A focus on fundamentals and technique Guitar - I teach all the basic styles (pop, rock, jazz). I specialize in Bluegrass/Folk/Country rhythm and lead guitar styles Drums - West African Recording/Production - Ableton/Pro Tools
Danny's enthusiasm for his music and his work is contagious! He knows his stuff, that's for sure. But what's really great about Danny is his personality. He is so calm, and very kind and respectful, no matter what your level of skill or knowledge. And he has a terrific sense of humor. You will definitely have fun while learning from Danny!

Danny is probably the sweetest most patient teacher i've ever had the pleasure of learning from. Whenever I felt flustered Danny would calm me and go over the lesson from top to bottom until I was comfortable. He is an excellent source of musical inspiration as well. 10/10 Would take lessons from in the future

Danny knows what he is doing and even more knows how to teach it! He connects to the music in a very personal way, but can still relate to you even if you don't "get it yet." Meaning, even outside of the classroom, he has all the elements you would want. He listens, thinks, and tried to focus on exactly what you need and how he can provide it to you. I strongly encourage you to contact him!

I have also taught in Prince William County and Stafford County Virginia Schools and served as a judge for the VTA Middle School One-Act play Competition, VCDA District IX Choral Festi

Proud Member of Actors Equity Association, SAG-AFTRA, and the National Association of Teachers of Singers.
*** Lesson Details *** Not only am I a trained singer, I am also an actor. I understand what it is to communicate and show emotion while singing. Before you can do this, you must also learn healthy singing technique. I will help blend the two.
The first half of each lesson will be dedicated to vocal exercises with the second half to songs I recommend or from your own repertoire. My recommendations may be from a different style of music than you are accustomed to, but I will be working towards helping you sing the style you want to sing.
Every voice is different. As a teacher I want to make sure that my students understand and are comfortable with what they are feeling and hearing. While I am an easy going person, I work very hard to help students find the right path to healthy vocal production.
*** Travel Equipment *** n/a student must have piano in home for use by the teacher
*** Specialties *** Musical Theatre
***please note: I have 3 cats. They do not come into the studio, but if you have allergies, this is possibly a problem.
Very personable and unintimidating to a beginner. Easy to follow her teaching.

Phyllis is the best singing teacher I have ever had. She is completely knowledgeable about technique and personalizes each class for her students. Phyllis is so sweet, and believes that there is a singing voice inside of all of us. Since I have started taking lessons with her, my range has expanded and not only that, I have gained new knowledge about sheet music that I had never heard before. I would highly recommend choosing her as your teacher.
Hi! My name is Jessica and I can't wait to help you find YOUR voice because YOUR voice is unlike anyone else's . No two people sound exactly the same; isn't that a beautiful thing? I truly believe it is, so much so that I've dedicated over two decades of my life to it. After double majoring at the University of Delaware (music, communication) I continued my private voice study with coaches based in LA and NYC and soon began sharing my knowledge of the voice with my own students, all the while landing my own gigs on-stage and on-screen.
Watching my students exceed their own expectations has been just as much, if not even more rewarding than performing for myself.
I am fortunate enough to say that teaching, performing, recording, writing, producing and arranging music has taken me all over the world. Through staying true to my voice
, I continue to create a life I love and my students are an incredibly important piece of that life!
Some things you should know about me:
- From 2003-Present Day I've trained with several classical and broadway style voice coaches as well as NYC's most in-demand pop-style vocal coach. I've spent many years performing in choirs and professional a cappella groups. - In 2007 I began teaching private lessons in my hometown and continued to do so sporadically throughout college and afterwards in NYC - I recorded with a major record label (now Capitol Records) and performed with a classical crossover group on PBS Television - I performed on NBC's The Sing-Off with my group The Deltones for which I was once a director, arranger and vocal coach. - I sang with Bonnie Raitt, Stevie Nicks and Carrie Underwood, filling in for Emmylou Harris - I've shared a stage and gone on tour with GUSTER, The Band Perry, Marc Broussard, LAUV, Shoffy, Pentatonix and more. - My work as a songwriter, recording artist, vocalist and vocal recording engineer & producer has garnered roughly 15+ Million Streams over the past few years. - My original music and cover songs have been heard on CBS, NBC, PBS and Disney's Freeform Television.
Question: Cool, so what does this mean about your style of teaching?
Answer: Glad you asked.
1. I am most interested in your personal, authentic style and making sure you are accessing YOUR voice in the most healthy way possible. Singing is a full body and mind activity and I like to take a comprehensive approach, teaching concepts that you can take with you into other areas of life. Many students want to "have better intonation", "sing more on key" or "sing more freely" and YES YES YES LET's definitely do that! Just not solely with ear training tricks and repetitive scales.
2. I'm best suited for students who prefer to sing modern and contemporary music or craft their own songs. I am also a great resource for recording studio-prep work.
3. As a working recording artist, I bring real-life experience into my coaching with a strong understanding of the modern music world.
While I've performed musical theater and classical music, there are more specialized coaches better equipped for those genres.
My goal in taking lessons was to get back to singing after a long hiatus of lessons and performing... to reclaim my love of singing and break through my insecurity. Jessica's warmth, humor and expertise helped me do just that. I learned new techniques and had a full on very emotional breath through right in her living room!
She made me feel safe, confident, and helped me learn about my unique voice as well as shared her expertise in proper breathing and gaining vocal control and increasing range.
In sum, Jessica is an incredible vocal coach and I'd definitely recommend her.

Jessica is an amazing teacher! She not only understands all the technicalities behind singing but she works to your strengths and helps you cultivate both your inner and outer voice! I felt very comfortable with her and even got emotional a few times as it was such a powerful experience to be able to be vulnerable and engage in something I love so much. Jessica is the perfect mix between professional and experiential where you'll learn skills but you will also have fun doing it. I highly recommend Jessica for your musical needs. I look forward to my future sessions!! It also helps she is incredibly talented! An all around win and positive experience :)!

The teacher was wonderful. But the platforms connection was poor. Really enjoyed the lesson.

My name is Brandi and I am ready to become your music teacher! Playing the guitar has been my passion for 13 years and counting. As a part of the talented music program throughout my high school years, I decided that I wanted to pursue music as a profession. I attended Southeastern Louisiana University for music performance and focused on the classical guitar as my primary instrument. I have played many gigs ranging from open mic nights, accompanying a choir, classical guitar ensembles consisting of up to 12 people, and my solo recitals. I also play the electric guitar, ukulele and the piano, with recently expanding interests for electronic music and synthesis.
My goal since graduation has been to make teaching lessons my full time occupation. Building up a studio certainly doesn't happen overnight so I have come here to expand my ava
ilability to the internet! As your instructor, I can help you to learn any and all of the things that you want to accomplish on the guitar even if you are a complete beginner. Don't wait to create - we can progress together!
Great feedback from the concert! Now Brandi's been working with me on basic classical - reading two or three lines at a time and going up and down the neck of the guitar with just the sheet music! No Tab Charts!! For me this has always been extremely hard, and probably the hardest musical skill for me overall is reading multiple lines simultaneously. Not great yet but - in quite a short time - have come Much farther than I was and am finally figuring out how to do it. Brandi has been super encouraging and patient and explains every step along the way when I get stuck - even multiple times if needed :)! Playing my normal rock or jazzy stuff with a lot more ease and "know-how" than before. She makes being pushed to your limits not only productive but also enjoyable.

I have a concert gig coming up in the span of a week playing guitar with a big band orchestra doing jazz or band arrangements of various popular songs including a big band arrangement of Play That Funky Music from the 70's. In other words not the easiest stuff to be playing :)! First lesson with Brandi and she cleared up all the trouble spots, tricky rythms and chord changes easily in an hour. She explains musical complexities clearly, knows what she's doing and at the same time makes it easy to understand and execute. I had read about her background in classical and knew she had to be good but was genuinely impressed with how well she understood jazz and funk styles better than I do. ( And I'm 28, have been playing since age 12 and performing publicly in multiple settings since 13) Great personality, a lot of fun to work with, and incredibly knowledgeable! Absolutely recommend!
Hello! My name is Taylor and I have been playing guitar since I was 10 (that puts me around 20 years experience at this point in my life). I have picked up singing, drums, piano, and bass since then. I write and record my own music in my own “studio” during free time from work. I occasionally will play cover sets at venues/events for $$$.
I have had 3-4 students in my life and I believe each has met their goals partly from my teaching, but mostly by their own commitment to put the time into practicing what I tell/show them. I have 1 student that just graduated ASU for guitar performance, and another student that writes/records/plays out with his band.
If you are willing to listen and put time in to what I ask you to practice then we should be able to accomplish what you are aiming for in music!

"Frank is not only one of the best musicians I have ever met, he is also a phenomenal instructor with an obvious love for teaching. His expertise spans wel

"Fawn is an absolute delight and a pleasure to work with. My daughter has always had a vocal gift, but her father and I wanted a professional that could wo
rk with her to properly hone in her gift. It was very convenient that we were able to do online lessons with Fawn, and it worked great for our busy schedules. Within the first few minutes, she was able to pinpoint the areas that my daughter needed to work on. Her lessons are always very upbeat and positive, and produce fantastic results. As a musician myself, I was always very pleased with the accuracy and age-appropriate delivery that Fawn continually offered. I cannot recommend her enough!"
"Just had my first lesson with Glynis, and my first singing lesson ever, and couldn't be happier! As many can relate, I was a bit nervous about singing in
front of someone, but immediately felt comfortable with Glynis. Her communication is great, and she seems genuinely interested in understanding what you hope to get out of the class, and helping you to get there. In my first lesson with her, I learned that my range is better than I thought it was, and she was as excited about that as I was! Couldn't ask for more from a teacher. For those who are on the verge of booking with her, just go for it, you'll be glad you did!"
"My daughter started piano lessons with Fawn at three years of age. She is now six years old and not only playing but reading music as well. I’ve also noti
ced my daughter booking more jobs in television and print because of the confidence she has acquired by playing in Fawn's Talent Share's. She is amazing with kids and I highly recommend her! Fawn is the best!"
"Annalise has a very impressive background in music and education, and it really reflects through her lessons with my daughter. She has instilled a lot of
confidence in my daughter, to the point that she tried out for, and made, Advanced Choir at her school. I very highly recommend Annalise!"
"After one lesson I can't wait for more. Amber's teaching is well structured and she was able to quickly identify my strengths and weaknesses. She also hel
ped me plan a good practice regimen to make the best us of my practice time at home."
Music can be a very rewarding experience - and a personal one, at that. Most musicians spend a LOT of time with their instrument, often baring their souls in the form of melodies and lyrics. If you treat your guitar like part of the family - or your best friend - you'll relate to what Gresham, OR guitar teacher Ed P. has to say here...
Did you know that some of the old blues players named their guitars? Some of them were even rumored to sleep with their guitars. I’m not saying tha …
