About Samuel
I've been teaching music for about a decade. During that time I've taught guitar privately and in masterclasses, theory and improvisation in a classroom setting, and coached ensembles. My teaching philosophy is focused entirely on helping my students attain their musical goals. Whether the goal is to play Carnegie Hall or play a few songs with friends around a campfire, I use my varied teaching and performing experience to help the student attain that goal through personalized lesson plans. Through this approach, I find students are able to stay engaged, have fun, and make exciting musical discoveries. Nothing is more gratifying to me as a teacher than to see someone have a breakthrough while learning to do something they enjoy!

Grant has been an amazing, patient teacher, even for an old bird like me. I wanted to play as a bucket list thing. Grant is obviously talented himself, but more than that, he is able to share that knowledge in a calm manner, yet be able to push you to do better each lesson. I would highly recommend him if you're just starting out or need help getting better. He is an incredible teacher.

Throughout my high school years I participated in Louisiana Regional and Louisiana All-State Choir as well as attended the New Orleans Center for the Creative Arts during the summer semester in Vocal Performance. While attending, University Laboratory School in Baton rouge I also completed the International Baccalaureate curriculum in Music Studies, while furthering my vocal Instruction with teacher Skip Harris and teaching myself the piano. I have studied vocal styles in blues, soul, R&B, funk, jazz, and classical music.

Throughout the summer of 2017, I will be joining the Love Swimming team becoming an instructor for small kids aged 6 months-10 years
old. This experience has and will continue to allow me to specialize my music lessons for my younger students. I am excited to continue to learn from this outstanding New Orleans business a few times a week.

When I decided to take vocal lessons, the first thing that was important to me was a teacher I could communicate with frequently if I had any questioo as well as them being flexible. I also wanted a teacher that would be willing to listen to what I wanted to achieve from my lessons, not just have them tell me what they think I need to do and Christopher was all of that and then some! From the first message I sent him when I inquired into when he was taking new students all the way up to the day we had our first lesson, he was always willing to answer my questions, discuss what I wanted out of our lessons and despite how nervous I was, he put my mind at ease and we had a GREAT time at our first lesson together! He truly cares about his students and loves what he does. If you're nervous, he does everything in his power to make you feel better. He certainly did that for me! Trust me when I say that if you choose him as your teacher, you will not regret it!

About Dena
I am a long-time music educator and performing vocalist. After obtaining a degree from the Indiana University School of Music, I taught high school choir in Chicago and held the position of alto section leader in the renowned Chicago Chamber Choir. I also performed with the Marion Consort, Music Box Theater, and I was a soloist at St. Gregory's Episcopal Church. In New Orleans, I sing with the selective chamber ensemble, Krewe de Voix, I have performed at the French Quarter Festival, and I am a soloist and section leader at Trinity Episcopal Church. I have seventeen years of experience working with piano and voice students of all ages and ability levels.

In piano lessons, I ask thought provoking questions to encourage students to find patterns in music, to think critically about the music they are learning, and to develop strong au
ral skills. We focus on technique and theory, but never at the expense of enjoying the experience of playing and learning.

In voice lessons, I specialize in developing beginning-level singers by focusing on breath, posture and aural skills as well as cultivation of vocal quality. If you think you "can't sing," I look forward to proving you wrong!

About Leon
I started playing the trumpet 29 years ago in my elementary school's concert band in New Orleans. Since 1993 I've been performing professionally around the world as a Jazz musician. The world has given me the opportunity to learn from world class musicians from the streets of New Orleans and Jackson Square to the classrooms of institutionalized learning. I studied for 2 years at the University of New Orleans, under the great jazz pianist, Ellis Marsalis, after which I continued my professional career joining the oldest, still performing Jazz band in the world, The Original Tuxedo Jazz Band led by one of my mentors Bob French. Simultaneously, I was asked to create and lead a horn section for the Latin Billboard Award winning/Grammy Nominated band Los Hombres Calientes . Also, from that time to present I perform around the world extensivel
y as a featured trumpeter/vocalist performing New Orleans' Traditional Jazz Music. I began teaching professionally around 2011 when I joined the faculty at the Don Jamison Heritage School of Music in New Orleans as the brass instructor where I also teach theory and Jazz. I've done clinics (internationally) and taught students of all ages. I really believe that when you have a desire to do something (like learn to play trumpet), your desire is a signal that you have the potential to be great at it! I can't wait to help you be great!

Leon is the total package. He is a professional musician ( has his own Jazz quartet, checkout You Tube), a highly recognized musical instructor in the great city of New Orleans and very patient with his students individual abilities. He can make you into whatever level of trumpeter you aspire to if you do
your part as a student. You will be fortunate and blessed to have him as a teacher.None better.

Hello, my name is Harry from New Orleans. I hold a degree in trumpet performance from Southeastern Louisiana University. I have been teaching private lessons for 5 years and have been playing professionally for 7 years. I have played and taught all of the following styles of music: orchestra, brass quintets, funk, R&B, traditional jazz, jazz combos, big band, New Orleans brass bands, fusion jazz, musicals, singer songwriter, marching bands, classical ensembles and jazz ensembles. I was the trumpet player and horn arranger for a band in New Orleans for 6 years, with this band I played on 3 studio albums. Now I am the Trumpet player for the nationally renowned funk band, Water Seed. I do not play trombone or euphonium but I have and currently teach both instruments. I've had students make it into All State Honor Bands and other honor bands
in Louisiana. I would love to take on more students and share the knowledge and love I have for the trumpet and music in general. I hope we can have a good time playing music together.
