I started playing violin at 3 years old. Wichita State University gave me the opportunity to get my Music Ed degree and start teaching lessons. I have taken over 500 lessons myself and played in many heavy gigging bands playing gigs almost every weekend. Improvising, Country, Jazz, and Rock are my specialties but I have played lots of Blues, Funk, and Latin jazz as well.

Make sure you contact me about scheduling. I have other students and a job that sometimes changes week to week. I may have other times available. Let me know.

Are you a beginner, intermediate or advanced ukulele player interested in learning more chords, notes, strumming patterns, finger picking styles, music theory or how to read tab? Do you just want to get better at that ukulele you've had? Or learn your favorite song for fun?

I personally adore the ukulele, especially as a starter instrument! I've been playing uke for 7 years now, and it's the perfect accompaniment whether you're on stage or in your bedroom. It's easy to travel with, too, if you have a busy life and are always on the go, ukulele is easy to learn and get good at quickly (but you obviously still need to put the practice time in!!) I write a lot of songs on the ukulele & love the unique style and sound it has.

Whether you are planning on performing with it, using it as accompaniment to someone else/yourself, or just want to learn for fun as a hobby, I can teach you all you need to know to meet your ukulele goals! If you have any questions, please message me & let's ...

I’ve been teaching harp for 20 years. I cater my teaching style and repertoire to the needs of the individual. I believe this is a partnership, so I try to offer options wherever possible so the student can find the music they feel will help them express themselves. I focus on note reading, but I also examine shapes of chords and relations and patterns in order to make music reading as quick and easy as possible. Depending on the student, these added tricks may be huge way makers in their music making experience.

I offer recitals twice a year. For online students, I host a virtual recital. I believe that the more frequently we perform, the easier it is to overcome stage anxiety. I, personally, battle stage anxiety, so I am able to assist others with managing these same feelings.

My ultimate goal with every student is to foster a love for music, both at the harp and in general.

About Phaedra

Teaching music lessons is a passion for Phaedra. She is desirous of understanding brain development and teaching according to readiness and learning style of the individual student. Phaedra is a professional colleague of mine. I have always been impressed with how well prepared her students are for competitions and auditions. Her attention to technical detail, and musicality show a dedication to, and love of teaching. During the Covid-19 pandemic, she is being extremely careful having her students wash their hands, and use hand sanitizer before, and during lessons.

I took piano lessons from Miss Paedra for about 5 years. I started when I was 6 years old. Miss Paedra is so kind and patient. She really helped me to grow and develop many skills and techniques with piano and theory. The background knowledge I got from Miss Paedra with music and theory altogether ultimately helped me out when starting to learn new instruments like the violin. I still play piano every now and then and I absolutely love and enjoy music. I really appreciate all the work and help I received when taking lessons. Miss Phaedra really helped to push and motivate me to practice and grow, and I know that she truly enjoys working with each of her students and wants the best for them.

I came to Phaedra as an adult harp student having had about a year experience prior. I had no idea how much I would grow with her as a teacher! She improved my technique, knowledge, skill level, and confidence as a harpist. She truly cares about her students and would find pieces for me to play that were at my level but would keep my interest. My two girls also took piano and harp lessons from her and loved her warmth and encouragement. Coming from no experience at all, I was surprised to see that they were playing Debussy and Chopin after only a few years. Their love for music began with the foundation Phaedra provided and still continues to this day. I was sad once we moved and were no longer to have her as an instructor as we have never found her equal.

I've been teaching classical piano for 7 years (since I was a teen myself!). Within the first few lessons, you'll be able to read and play from basic sheet music, and as time goes on we can work on songs you pick yourself. I strongly emphasize music theory and good technique in my lessons, and my students consistently display the best technique in every group recital. I specialize in beginner and intermediate classical, typically use Faber and John Thompson books, and teach lessons on my 1930's baby grand piano. I love working with students ages 6+ and all experience levels, and I can't wait to meet you!

About Maya

- I am classically trained in piano and music theory (attended college for both from the age of 15) and have a strong emphasis on music theory and good technique in my lessons, but I also understand the importance of ear training. I practice with and encourage each student in developing relative pi

I've been teaching ear training for 8 years and my students have gone on to play music by ear. Within the first few lessons, you'll be able to play a simple famous classical or pop music tune with one hand and as time goes on you'll be able to play one of your favorite songs with two hands. I specialize in best ear training exercises, typically use the Russian school method. Russian music school is counting the best in the world.

For the class you will need:
Access to the iano or keyboard, pencel, and plain music sheet notebook. I love working with students of all ages and experience levels and I can't wait to meet you!

Pavel was a great piano teacher and guided me through my learning journey. I took lessons with him for over 8 years and can now sight read, play from memory, and create new tunes on my own. I focused mainly on classical compositions, but Pavel was always willing to help me learn modern songs. He is a very kind person who emphasizes discipline when it comes to practice.

"Learning music can be overwhelming but Jesse made the process equal parts exciting, artistic, and intellectual. He is able to explain concepts better than any music teacher I have ever had (and I have tried many). He was able to meet me where I was at, inspire me when I was struggling and encourage me when I was excelling. I look forward to my lesson with Jesse every week and he has guided me from being a hopeful, dejected fangirl to being a confident, well-rounded musician."

This allows anyone to comprehend and master the rules of music in a third of the time other teachers have taken to teach the same information. He is professional, personable and an all around great teacher .
He has taught my daughter as well. We study songwriting together.

I am learning classical guitar and jazz guitar with him and I am delighted with the progress I've made in just a few months.
